Sonny Bear is a smart one not strange at all He dropped that grass in the water to soften it up. Then he stepped on it purposely so he could get a bite . Mustang instincts.

You really could use an ultralight airplane. No license needed (but good instruction), low cost to own and operated. And just plain fun. That would at least give ya an idea of where to start looking.
My dad always kept a few ponies on the farm and when people came with kids that wanted a pony he asks the parents if it was ok and then told the kid to pick out one. Sometimes they put them on the floor of the back seat they were so happy to get one or my dad delivered it in the truck. Ponies were cheap in the 60's so dad would pick up good ones here and there just to be able to make a kid happy. One couple house broke their little pony, so she roamed in the house at times. We lived in real country in Ohio.
If I had known about to offer a few days earlier I would have jumped on a plane from Nova Scotia. You woulda had to loan me a horse though. 😂 Should I shoot for Sunday ? Hahaha It would be a dream come true!
Is the military still firing rounds over your land or is this area government land? I remember the kids finding casings while unloading water and assumed that was part of the ranch. How long have those casings been lying in the desert? I’d like to see how the water pipeline is doing and saving work not hauling water.

First time you had a boy on a pony. He is doing well it looks like.
