Hazel is exactly what I believe the face of climbing should be -- kind, humble, honest, and an ABSOLUTE BEAST. To be able to push the bounds of trad, soloing, AND hard sport is a really rare set of abilities. Bravo
Well done Hazel a fantastic effort. I really enjoy listening to these types of interviews and its always nice to see these really elite athletes who are so humble. I see arrogance in many other sports but hardly at all in the climbing world.
Yea. But, still... 9a. SMH... She's saying to your face how people don't perceive her experience for what it was to her and just see the grade, then you spit it back at her face.
Kneepad problems...work out your own...not difficult...you've got a parent company who will assist. Hazel, sorry but the vultures were hoping you would screw up !!! Super well done...another huge tick in your cv...
Why do these grades need to be so confusing is this a technical 9a or some kind of sport 9a it used to be so easy to understand the grades. I am an old fashioned trad climber and we knew what we meant.

Hazel has such a great, likeable, fun, reflective personality. All of that. Could listen to her for hours!

I love listening to these two. Very different, but such great attitudes to climbing. Congrats Hazel
Thanks Hazel. It's not about the grade, it's about the experience! About being there. Best wishes.
It did look epic ;)
