I've stuttered for 66 years...believe me, it is hell on earth...ESPECIALLY when your own family doesn't even talk about it and lack of support from the public...I tell you, us stutterers/stammers are the strongest, sweetest people ever...we are survivors...somehow
Ben I’m 17 and have had a stutter all my life, it’s hard to explain the feeling to people who are fluent, but it is a feeling in your throat, like a tightening or something, it’s weird isn’t it?
ChickenWirexd I can feel my stutter getting so much more worse. I can read so fluently but when I speak if I'm flustered or something. I feel stupid as yours are much more serious but I think about it so much it's really distracted me from my part time job .
Im 12 and ive got a stammer, hearing what some of these people are saying im disgusted. I get made fun of at school. I dont think people realise how difficult this is to overcome. Sick bastards.
The people who judge and make fun of you are in the minority - remember that, though I know it must be difficult when they are being mean. Fortunately people grow up. Most of them anyway! Hang in therel
I wish you all the success and happiness in the world, lil dude. School is everything right now but it is going to be a fraction of your life. You will achieve and express yourself. Stick it out, kid. You’re so much more.
People have little tolerance for a disability they can't see. My daughter has a speech impediment and we have always taught her to believe in herself as much as we do. As the saying goes "nothing is impossible, the word itself says I'm possible!
FIFAGUY yes with lots of speech and language therapy to overcome his stutter. Watch his videos. He still stutters but he has learnt how to control it!!!
I had a stammer from the age of five up until the age of about fifteen. After that, it finally just stopped happening. I don't think people can fully understand the experience of knowing exactly what you want to say, but physically not being able to say the words. There were many humiliating and frustrating times in school and out in public. The look on the teachers face at 3:03 when the music starts to work is great, Burton truly is a remarkable teacher, prepared to go the extra mile for one of his students.
As someone that used to have a severe stammer, speaking to someone you trust and that has enough patience with you is everything! Mr Burton is an angel and I’m so happy for this young man ❤️
Very few will ever understand what it was like growing up with a stammer in Yorkshire when this was on the TV. It was absolutely revolutionary for every one of us. I was only very young and I can still remember it being talked about all the time. I grew up very close to where Musharaf went to school and where this was shot. It was honestly an amazing feeling
Kevzete - Everyone can be ignorant and everyone can make mistakes... whether or not we _choose_ to address it and change for the better is what makes the difference.
Its amazing how Mushy could speak when he had headphones! I could speak to my cat and when I was on my own without stuttering, however when I wanted to speak in front of other people I stuttered uncontrollably. It was all in my @stutteringmind
“Teaching is a lovely profession” - not if you have had to struggle for over 30 years with pupils who are disaffected. It was wonderful to see Musharaf managing to speak without stammering. The teacher had thought up a simple solution. Good for him.
When I was at school there was a guy who had an extreme stutter and the thing was, nobody even knew about it because he literally never talked apart from an occasional isolated word under his breath. The only time it became clear was once during a drama lesson he had to stand up and say a line, but his delivery was so stuttered that some people laughed because they thought it was deliberate.
All these people don’t know how hard it is having one.People without a stammer take talking as Second nature please be kind to people who are trying to talk to you who have one because they are shitting themselves
This should be sent to isis or any organisation that doesn’t understand the vast majority of decent humans don’t hate because of the colour of someone’s skin . This isn’t a black lad or a brown lad this is a lad overcoming adversity And we cheer those ppl on regardless of colour or religion.
Sam Cooke I've got a stammer and everyone says that, but it never works, at least not for me. It's not a matter of being more confident, as much as people associate stuttering with being nervous and speaking too fast it's really not. Nervousness is the result of a stutter, not the cause.
Who even cares what my name is? Well I have had one In the past, i was only 12 when I had one , I’m 17 now and the reason it went was because every morning I sat in a chair for 10 minutes , recorded what I wanted to say on my phone and put headphones on and said it clearly and then when I was about to talk to someone I would clearly think on what I would say and i said it. Also I’ve herd that there is a trip thing going on and I’ve Hurd that it’s amazing and it’s even being on good morning Britain apparently, search it up, and good luck beating it!
Sam Cooke I couldn't find anything about a trip. But also thanks for the advice but I doubt my stammer is ever going to fully go away. I don't really mind though because I'm currently a lot more comfortable talking to people than I ever used to be.
Its hugely heartwarming but he hasn't overcome anything. The music tricks his brain and won't work out in the real world. I'm sure he will do great but he has a lot of work ahead of him.
Well, the nervous-induced part of the stutter has been overcome by knowing he can (in dire situations) just "rap" his message, instead of 'ah ah ah' and silence.
omg that mum in the pink jumpsuit was Savage to her son "He's obviously got something wrong with him but we didn't hear it because you TALKED !!"
sarcasticmalfoy that’s just a normal mum
ʎoⅎʅɐɯɔᴉʇsɐɔɹɐs every British mum oml 😂😭
Shush the tele is on dickhead
He is annoying tho. Both those kids talk over the programmes theyre watching.
*I’m glad he apologised for what he said.*
When Mr Burton realises what has happened is such a good moment
And they say teachers never help. This man is a fucking Saint.
I go to the same school he’s the head teacher now
I've stuttered for 66 years...believe me, it is hell on earth...ESPECIALLY when your own family doesn't even talk about it and lack of support from the public...I tell you, us stutterers/stammers are the strongest, sweetest people ever...we are survivors...somehow
Tanya Tressler same you are not by yourself
Except im not 66
Tanya Tressler is it just me or do you get a feeling in your throat sometimes when you get stuck on a word

I dont have a stammer as bad as him tho
The people who judge and make fun of you are in the minority - remember that, though I know it must be difficult when they are being mean. Fortunately people grow up. Most of them anyway! Hang in therel
Exactly the same here. I am 12 too
I wish you all the success and happiness in the world, lil dude. School is everything right now but it is going to be a fraction of your life. You will achieve and express yourself. Stick it out, kid. You’re so much more.
@@KayosHybrid cheers bro i’m 16 now finished school n that but love my bro

i think that people should look up to musharaf as a role model for other students.
His speech made me cry
He's even got his own RUclips channel and can speak nearly fluently
As a stutterer, I know talking to a camera must be easier than to talk to a bunch of people. But he's stammer got better as I saw it in his vids
What’s his channel name?
FIFAGUY yes with lots of speech and language therapy to overcome his stutter. Watch his videos. He still stutters but he has learnt how to control it!!!
@@najmaashiq7964 what's the channels name
Channel 4 Educating Yorkshire. Musharrafs Story.
The way he turned this around is amazing. I often watch this video just to see the teachers face when the lad does it. It's amazing

Luke47895 how did you stop?
I'm not actually sure. As I got older it just gradually got less and less severe and eventually it stopped all together.
Still the most inspirational bit of tv I’ve ever seen . Has me in tears every time and I’m hard as nails. 😉
