  • 28 B.C; It's the middle of summer on a busy day in Neapolis. The sun is high in the sky, as the people of Rome go about their daily business by the sea. A light breeze mixes with the scents of foreign spices by the harbour markets. A siren's song is heard not far away.

    Some people talk about past lives when hearing music or hear stuff like this, idk maybe im being to literal right now, but I felt a wave of emotion flow through me out of nowhere hearing the sweet soft song in the beginning.

      Personally, I believe it's possible. We all have certain feelings, interests or appreciations of time periods long gone, without really knowing why. All I can say is, listen to the music, close your eyes, and follow your feeling. Maybe something will reveal itself to you.

    Nice video! The melody the singer is singing so gorgeously is ‘El cant dels ocells’, a beautiful Catalan song :)

      Thank you! :) I was wondering for a while what exact language this was, as it didn't mention it in the original audio file.

      @@daisydarling3054 it's really a wonderful melody! It was tagged on AmbientMixer as "Beautiful Siren" by Natalia. Unfortunately it doesn't give me much more info than that since it was released under CC license. x

    I really admire Greco-Roman culture
    Fun fact Neapolis in Greek literally means the new city

      That's because until the Lombard invasion, it was a Greek city/colony.

    6:18 I hear slavic words (Ukrainian or other), she sings "Свята Марія" (Holy Maria, Sancta Maria) or something like that

      That's amazing. I actually wasn't sure what language the audio file was in, but the tune was fitting, nice to know what it was.

      Italians use Santa Maria as well, it doesn't necessarily mean they are Slavic words

      @ПётрТарасенко-ш6ч 4 года назад +6

      @@alexmusko9391 "Sancta Maria" is translation, she sign "Свята Марія"(Svyata Maria), without any sound like "n" or "c".
