- 21 BC: The Empire has entered an era of peace after a tumultuous decade. With a long day of work in the Senate behind you, you retire to your private chambers and decide to relax on your baclony on a mild summer night. The lights of Rome flicker below you as you take a sip of mulled red wine. The world is yours. And the people of Rome sleep undisturbed tonight.

I've been searching for something like this for ages. All the others are way too loud and busy. This is perfect! - Currently reading Cicero's letters.
OMG SAME I'm translating/reading Cicero's Pro sexto roscio.
I’m unfamiliar with Roman History. I just searched up Cicero’s Letters and it sounds like an interesting read! Any suggestions on where to start if I want to start getting into Rome, it’s famous people and Roman History? Thanks! 😊

It would be a nice touch to add the muffle screams of Augustus as he angrily curses Varus.

Love this! I love Rome and it's history so much. Augustus was a great man and my great inspiration, and also Julius Caesar is my inspiration. Love to read about them. And love to draw and paint them. Soon I'm going to Rome again for the fourth time. When I'm in my hotelroom at night I will play this, and really feel the spirit of Rome.....🏛❤
Thank you so much for the kind message and sharing your enthusiasm about the great people of Rome. A lot of us on this channel feel the same way. reading John Williams great "Augustus" to this
Would love to say that I'm relaxing to this and reviewing my notes for my Ancient History exam tomorrow morning, when in actuality I am properly cramming in dates and AO1 about the battle of Actium.
Always felt drawn to Augustus though. Tiberius, Gaius, Claudius, and Nero never gave me the same feelings as Augustus did. Wonder if that's how the people of Rome felt. Can never truly trust the sources.
Hiii, I saw this just now, so I hope your Ancient History exam went well! That sounded like a lot of work @_@
I studied the Roman emperors from the Julian dynasty and must agree with you. There's a wonderful book I read a while back about Octavian. It's supposed to be a biography, but it portrays his life through the eyes of some of his friends and relatives. It's very well written. I have to find it again since the title slipped my mind, but I'll paste a link once I do!
@@roselightmoon It went better than expected, thank you :)
The first question was on how Augustus managed to create a succession - so I just used the Second Constitutional Settlement of 23BC? Hope thats right.
Next was on how much the battle of Actium impacted the people positively. We also had to look at a poem from Horace and a section from Vellius. I noticed Anthony wasn't mentioned so I brought that up.
Last was about how consistent the emperors were with the imperial cult and I said fairly, apart from the second part of Gaius' reign.
But yeah despite minimal revision I'm so glad the stuff I knew came up.
What is the name of the music playing? Thank you🌹🌸
Could you upload these tracks somewhere to be of higher (sound) quality than they would be on youtube? Its not like im an audiophile, but why be restricted at something like 100 kbps
Hey! I have all my audio files saved at 256 kbps and also 6D. I will upload these for my Patreons to use offline once we are at 10K :)
The idea is very nice, but the music... definitely not "Ancient Roman". It's chamber music.
Sounds good
Ave, mighty Caesar.
I really appreciate the no adds, I can really sink into my book and the theme without the interuptions, thank you. This is wonderful 💞

I discovered this yesterday and love it so much! Currently reading a book set in Rome/Ravenna, so this is so fitting for playing in the background ♥
Amazing, I'm glad you like it :) what's the book called?
@@roselightmoon It's "A struggle for Rome" by Felix Dahn, a historical novel from the 19th century about the battle between the Ostrogoths and Romans to gain/keep the predominance of the roman empire (based on the historical events in the 6th century a.d.). A bit oldfashioned, but beautiful language and rather epic :)
