    Are there any other great way to use VR that isn't gaming?

    • @luftstolle
      @luftstolle Год назад +4

      I'm not sure what qualifies as VR, but using a headset for flying drones is awesome! So much easier to see where you're flying than when looking at a small, dim smartphone screen out in bright sunlight. You have a much higher chance of seeing electrical wires and tree branches and so on when having a big screen right in front of your eyes.
      Currently you have to either use proprietary headsets, e.g. DJI Goggles 2, or stream video from an Android phone via WiFi which introduces extra latency and probably lowers the drone range since radios interfere with each other, but hopefully we'll see a "native" solution for VR headsets in the future.

      Roundabout Mini golf is amazing. It’s nice to have someone to play against but even if you don’t, the scenery is amazing and it’s a really mellow game and quite relaxing.

      I'm 71. Use all the art apps eg Vermillion, I have several golf apps, curling via my laptop, 2 table tennis apps, 1 tennis, baseball, American football, Wander, language learning, chess, astronomy apps, Tai Chi, 2 ten pin bowling apps, darts, corn something, plus the common problem solving adventure apps. I just bought the Oculus Quest 2, should receive it tomorrow, and it just dawned on me that my cousin, who had a stroke in 2019 and can barely speak could probably benefit from it! And also right arm paralyzed and wheelchair bound. I wonder what apps, brain or exercise games I could download for him to try! Some fun to pass the time (he lives alone), and some to work his brain and rehabilitation!
    For me, I'd try rollercoasters, pilates, yoga/meditation, scenery videos for when on the stationary bike, puzzle games, learn/practice languages, watch TV show/movies, and so much more!

    Wow...my Quest 2 is still boxed up in its new plastic wrapping still like half a year after receiving it. I haven't found anything that really makes me want to open it up and mess around with it but I've been wanting to learn how to DJ for fun, and I think you just opened up a whole new world for me. It's not just games and experiences like I thought.

    Wow not a single game suggested that has physical exertion. Something you can work out to.
    Many people want something from VR that’s going to be interesting and exciting for them to exercise but also there’s so many things that used to be common place that incorporated exercise.
    I’m not even old but to me it just seems like a bunch of shallow stupid nonsense games.
    I do really appreciate you taking the time to make the video put the information together and go out and check out the games, but there’s more awesome things to do in VR besides replicate playing a game I expect to actually have at least four options of something that was a physical activity you could do in VR, and you have none.
    It’s not a fail. It’s just a missed section.

      Thanks for the prompt. I should point out this is actually part two of the series of things you can do in the outside of gaming and fitness was featured in the first so I didn’t want to repeat it in the second. But it’s definitely a good use case.
