    Is there supposed to be a slight difference in the length of both sides? 22:26

      The lined inside should sit a little higher underneath the outside portion of the vent. it can be unsightly for anything to be hanging out from underneath the overbearing vent

    Sir, in your opinion, is it a reasonable request of a tailor to close the vent on a single vented jacket, effectively making it a ventless jacket?

      @@stugryffin3619 if there's a vent there it should open, though the effect a single vent has is allowing it to sit over horseback more comfortably
      Side vents make it more comfortable to sit in a chair
      Having no vents is seen as more formal
      In my opinion if there is a vent it should open freely, otherwise it should not have been put there

      @caffeinatedtailor thank you. But is it a reasonable request to ask for it to be closed/is it possible. I have a tuxedo jacket that I have inherited which has a single vent but I don't think it's appropriate for it to be there. I guess I'm asking for your opinion ad to whether the modification is technically feasible.

      @stugryffin3619 oh I see, I slightly misunderstood.
      I think that is an acceptable request. Depending on exactly how the lining has been done that might make it easier or harder, but the cloth itself should be easy enough to close together.
