    Very helpful video 👍, I own also a geneve with a 1012 and faulty second stop. Can you give me the part number of faulty part(s). In addition, the winding stem is very difficult to remove and requires at least a quarter of a turn and a relatively large amount of force to move from stage 1 (day setting) to stage 2 (time setting). Do you have any idea what else could be faulty here?

    I’ve just watched this and it’s filled me full of dread as I’ve just spent hundreds buying an older movement omega watch unseen other than the pictures the seller wants me to see. You want it to be brilliant and beautiful but it arrives abused, rusty, broken and dull. Lovely filming and close ups, didn’t like some of the music but that’s just taste I guess. Well done. You are very skilful.

    I have one of these with a different strap. These watches arnt registered on the historic omega website. The number 166.0204 states it should have a 1010 not a 1012. Very odd and interesting

    • @Karol235
      @Karol235  2 года назад

      maybe a different mechanism was installed at the factory? In so many years and probably many owners, various adventures could have happened

      The 1010 was a US Export model with only 17 Jewels when the other ways identical 1012 with 23 Jewels was exported to countries with no arbitrary taxation of the Jewel count on the watch movement.

    Can you repair 1970s omega quartz 1345 movements as I have one or will it have to go back to Switzerland

      hello, I'm sorry but I don't work with quartz watches. do not send to switzerland the costs are huge. there are many workshops in the UK that repair quartz

    23:54 - I believe there should be no friction on the minute wheel, the friction is provided by the tiny cannon pinion you've installed at 21:12.

    • @Karol235
      @Karol235  2 года назад +1

      that's right, cannon pinion

    Some Troglodyte apparently have had a field day on the poor movement earlier. 🦍
    A good thing You got it fixed albeit I still prefer the 500 series over the 1000 series.

    Great video. What was the replacement 'missing part' made from? It didn't appear to be metallic

    Great hand skills. Far too much oil and I believe the barrel is a bit sloppy in bushings. IMPO

    • @Karol235
      @Karol235  2 года назад

      Thank you for your opinion, I personally think that the oil should be as much as can fit in the jewel. do you mean too much oil?

    • @mikebruegger8654
      @mikebruegger8654 2 года назад +1

      Absolutely. Less is better. The jewels are very slippery. SMALL amounts of oil help but too much gums up and slows everything down as well as spreads where it does not belong... 😊

    I have an identical watch, but the strap is not original. How can I find the original "Omega" strap?
    In addition, my calendar is also damaged. I don't know if I can find the same type of calendar plate?🥺🥺

    • @Karol235
      @Karol235  Год назад +1

      calendar ring can be easily purchased. but the bracelet is practically unavailable. you have to buy a second watch (preferably a damaged one) if you really care

      @悟道-e1e Год назад +1

      @@Karol235 Thank you for your reply, I hope I can find a suitable calendar plate🥹; it is also very difficult to find the same watch, especially even scrapping an omega is quite expensive haha😅🤣
