That belt setup for a gen head drive would outlast the original Onan QD setup for sure. The magnets were well know to come apart as they're just glued and not secured by rivets. Man I've seen those bellhousings full of metal chunks many times!
you need a return line to the tank to allow air to leave the system thats why it was miss firing for so long and not clearing eventualy it would probably smooth out but not the ideal set up as any air build up from sitting or a loose line in the future would result in a no start
You need to pre heat the swirlchambers, it's not direct injected so it needs to be pre heated. Connect the glowplugs and let them be on for at least 15 sec and then start the engine, and it should fire right up.
@@lambertmt the glow plugs from cold would draw 10 amps each and drop to about 6-7 amps each after a few seconds. No thats not direct Injection. There's no mini series Kubota that is a DI. They're all three vortec precombustion chamber.

thanks! do you know how many amps the glow plugs draw. I have a relay I could use, but I'm not sure I need to.

Is the brown hose that you touched at 1:00 supposed to be connected somewhere?
No. It is just the breather hose coming off of the valve cover for any blow-by or excess crankcase pressure. It's supposed to vent to the outside.
Noticed your big 3 belt drive pulley...what is the shaft adapter you are using on the flywheel?
