Game Description:
The Galaxy’s Last Line of Offence.
Enlist in the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic, and ferocious third-person shooter.
URGENT BROADCAST - SUPER EARTH ARMED FORCES
Freedom. Peace. Democracy.
Your Super Earth-born rights. The key pillars of our civilization.
Of our very existence.
But the war rages on. And everything is once again under threat.
Join the greatest military force the galaxy has ever seen and make this a safe and free place to live.
BECOME A LEGEND
You will be assembled into squads of up to four Helldivers and assigned strategic missions.
Watch each other’s back - friendly fire is an unfortunate certainty of war, but victory without teamwork is impossible.
LOADOUTS
Rain down freedom from above, sneak through enemy territory, or grit your teeth and charge head-first into the jaws of combat.
How you deliver liberty is your choice; you’ll have access to a wide array of explosive firepower, life-saving armor and battle-changing stratagems… the jewel in every Helldiver’s arsenal.
REQUISITION
Super Earth recognises your hard work with valuable Requisition. Use it to access different rewards that benefit you, your squad, your destroyer ship and our overall war effort.
THREATS
Everything on every planet wants you dead. That’s what we’re dealing with.
Each enemy has distinct and unpredictable characteristics, tactics, and behavior - but they all fight ferociously and without fear or morality.
THE GALACTIC WAR
Capturing enemy planets, defending against invasions, and completing missions will contribute to our overall effort.
This war will be won or lost depending on the actions of everyone involved.
We stand together, or we fall apart. Игры
Keith just named his ship "Service top"
I personally would have gone with Arbiter of Self-Determination, just for the sheer irony inherent in that name.
The "cant follow orders if i don't read them" is even more hilarious when you know that the helldiver enlistment contract on the wall of the final room of the tutorial says that if you read it you are guilty of treason.
How do you know that, did you read it?
@jimdude7782 sec 3.3 I think it is say something along the lines of: if you read these orders in their entirety you are in possession of classified information and in violation of... (I think) sec3.2
And sec 3.2 talks about possession of classified information being treasonous...
Therefore, I did not read the rest of the form... thus, I could not violate sec 3.3
"Chat, how do I videogame?"
If only you didn't tell the writers you weren't going to read anything Keith. Might help, I dunno.
The Starship Troopers stuff at the beginning re: people not understanding it was a satire is something I run into a lot with Warhammer, especially 40k. The entire setting was written as a long satire of Soviet Russia back in the 80's (up to and including the Guard's use of Penal Legion Auxillaries), and all of the races when you take a hard look at them *suck* and poke fun at extremism for various ideologies. S'why I find it a big red flag when anyone takes... *any* of this stuff seriously. It's a punchline, not a *goal post.*
But shooty times with Keith are always entertaining, at least!
Nothing says Democracy like Friendly Firing your teammates and destroying them with your own pods.
I have seen streamers play this game and I thought it was just another military shooter so I didn't pay that much attention. But the intro is so hilariously 'legally distinct Starship Troopers' that I enjoyed it. Seems this is the new 'multiplayer game to stream' of the week.
Surprisingly it's actually been the new "multiplayer game to stream" of the past month. Nobody expected it to be this successful, not to mention, stay this successful for this long.
I’ve kinda been living under a rock and haven’t seen these character designs, they give me big ODST vibes
Oh this is FULL of Halo references lmao
If you hold R on the keyboard you get options for your gun. Flashlight, rate of fire and scope range.
To quote Illusory, "Hell yeah."
"Undivided attention is mandatory" I'd heard this game was a "Starship Troopers(movie)-like", starting strong to that effect then.
Reminds me of the black-comedy dystopian TTRPG Paranoia and its "Happiness is Mandatory" tagline.
"I can't believe is not Starship Troopers" the videogame
Ooh, wasn't expecting you to play this, but it's a very nice surprise. This game is awesome.
Also, I think part of the whole Starship Troopers stire discourse thing is that the book was less obviously satirical than the film (or maybe not at all?). That's just what I've heard though - I haven't read the book. I just know that Heinlein is known to have had some weird opinions in his writing.
@@MadSwedishGamer the book was a lot more... earnest in its military worship
The narrative I always hear is that the director looked at the book, saw it as fascist, and then proceeded to shit on it with his adaptation, as one would expect from the creator of RoboCop. I think Kyle Kallgren had a more nuanced take on the book in his four hour series but, having binged that years ago while playing Satisfactory, I don't really remember it anymore lol
@@MadSwedishGamer I will say two things of the books' plot that are interesting: 1 the bugs are sentient and sapient; 2 the humans may have attacked first
@@MadSwedishGamerHeinlein was an interesting figure, to say the least. He was a Wellsian socialist for the first few decades of his life, incorporating progressive themes like free love and collectivism into much of his early writing. He even ran for a seat on the California State Assembly as a New Deal democrat in the late '30s, although his campaign didn’t last long.
Throughout the '40s and '50s, Heinlein would shift farther and farther to the right. By the time _Starship Troopers_ was published in 1959, the once progressive author had gone full libertarian. He explicitly wrote the book as a response to pressure from the left for then-president Eisenhower, who Heinlein notably called "a slimy faker," to discontinue nuclear testing. It’s a damn shame. He was an undeniably talented man. I can only imagine what great things he could’ve done for the science fiction genre if he hadn’t abandoned his progressive principles.
This will explain all you need to know about the game. It was made by the Magicka devs.
As someone who has barely seen anything of Magicka, yeah this makes a lot of sense lmao
69 kills for Kah in the last match. Noice
This game is such a gem oml
you can't pick the spot to drop at till everybody is in the pods or 30 seconds elapsed since you went in
(if you didn't figure this out)
bump
They figured out the former method
Bugs have a lot of weird weak point stuff going on, for instance the giant butts are weak to explosive but resist bullets. Bullets work best on the head or legs if the heads armoured.
If you can get the recoil less rifle get it for more reliable anti-tank. Works best with two people one carrying the recoil less rifle and someone else carrying the ammo pack for it.
Starting ad was great. Wish the in game dialogue was as cheesy and self aware.
ur saying it isint ?
@@Offisian Oh, it is cheesy. I just think it could be even more so. Hadn't realized till I put it into words, but guess I want it to be cringy XD
@@TheMARStudios now ur making more sense
But yea i guess their going for it more seriously like
The characters in the game arent self aware they dont realize how fucked their government is so the only cringe parts are in the propaganda the actual people take it serious
Im doing my part
Remember, Keith. The faster you spread Managed Democracy, the sooner you get your citizenship...
Yes! More soldiers doing their part for democracy!
yes spread all of the democracy to the communist bugs /s
yes spread all of the democracy to the communist bugs /s
Yes, spread the demlcracy through tjose cmist bugs
Great to see you join the fight soldier! Democracy always needs more heroes!
10:02 that's because you're still in the tutorial. It doesn't officially end till you complete your first mission from my understanding.
3:30 short answer: Yes.
There is a thing called the "flicker rate" which basically is the speed of the experience of time. For instance a week may seem short or it can be two lifetimes if you are a fruit fly.
Anyhow this lines up with FPS perception and I think the younger generations have faster flicker rates because of conditioning by video games.
Used to be that humans couldn't perceive the difference of 30 and 40 FPS. FPS rates just above human flicker rate would give you a headache over time. A certain amount more and no headache and also suddenly it's fast enough to be a movie instead of a picture book to cats and dogs who suddenly take interest.
You have to train yourself to be somewhat superhuman in order to need those 70 FPS
Higher framerates do help with the perception of responsiveness to controls, which is something you can absolutely notice when going from 60 to 120 FPS even if you otherwise can't perceive the difference. For a passive viewing experience you really don't need more than 30 though.
@@Toksyuryel I bet you are much better at video games than I am, perhaps a bit superhuman in my view.
@@elinope4745 It's really noticeable in shooters and soulslikes. Try it sometime.
Bro really wanted to talk about his graphic settings, steadily ignored 😂
*Clicks to spawn right in the middle of the enemy.*
Glad to see this isn't a unique experience.
I'm doing my part!✊
oh YES PLEASE
jesus christ this game looks boring, i was just about to buy it too!
