Thank you very much to JJLovesPrince for the priority request! I haven't been home all day so I'm behind on comments. I will catch up tomorrow morning, I promise!
Miles Davis famously stated (about Prince) Prince is essentially James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, and Marvin Gaye combined. Prince’s stage concept is Charlie Chaplin.
Prince"s Superbowl halftime show is considered the greatest of all time, but the press conference before the game was great as well. Both are worth checking out.
The Superbowl show was actually reacted to on here. Be sure to check it out. There's a playlist at the end of the video with all the Prince reactions done on here
@@AceofBadeReacts A great reaction, but the press conference prior to the game is worth checking out too. He doesn't answer any questions, he just plays music.
Thanks for reacting to this one. I love how playful Prince is with the crowd on this. This band didn’t really have a name. It is made up of members who had been playing with Sheila E and Levi and Miko ended up becoming original members of the New Power Generation. The dancer is Cat Glover. She was a dancer, choreographer, back up singer/rapper with Prince during the Sign O’ the Times tour (1987) and on the Lovesexy album and tour (1988). Unfortunately, she passed away on Tuesday. Maybe she and Prince are singing and dancing somewhere together now 💜💜💜
I see, so The Revolution ended in 1986 and NPG started in 1990 and between those 4 years he did stuff like this, right? yeah maybe they are performing together, along with all the other musicians we've lost. Now THAT is a concert I want to go to. Think of how much talent would be on that stage
Prince was signed as a solo act. The backing band name didn't officially come for him until the 1999 album credited as Prince and the Revolution. Post revolution it's just billed as Prince until the 1991 album of Diamonds and Pearls. Basically, think of the band members that come and go as NPG members are contracted musicians, so he can change who and what he wants whenever.
I see that makes sense. I did just reply to JJ about The Revolution ending in 1986 and NPG starting in 1990 and this was inbetween that time. At least I think that's how it was.
You really need to delve into Cat’s career with Prince during The SOTT era. Her dancing skills were phenomenal! Now I’m definitely a Mayte/Prince fan😊…I think they had a spiritual intensity, a sexual chemistry and connection on stage that could not be denied…but Cat’s time with Prince, Sheila E…🔥
U should look the whole concert, the idea is him going from bad 2 devine, LoveSexy, the feeling U get when U fall in love not with a girl or boy but with the heaven above.

@@jjjones8609 That's a cool description
The Dancer is Cat Glover. She passed a way last week at the age of 50. This is is unreleased. It is. It on any of his albums.
@@kenneth2875 Cat was brilliant, very sad news. She was 62, though.
The GOAT

That's awesome you got to go that many times

rip Cat Glover
This was a segue between "When U Were Mine" played as an intro and outro. If you re-watch it, the songs hit different when played in their entirety
Oh I had no idea, but I definitely wouldn't doubt it. Some of the performances I've seen seem to go right into other songs
The dancer is Cat Glover. The best dancer Prince ever had. She recently passed away a couple of months ago. May she rest in peace.
You're spot on with the 9:12 Charlie Chaplin reference.
It's uncanny
The part with the microphone is prince pretending having a phoncall.
The lady dancin is CAT cat glover
She did just past away 3 days ago
Ah I see. I did just learn that.

One of the largest crowds in Europe, Germany, close to 80,000 people
That's awesome
Miles Davis said Prince's act was part Charlie Chaplin.

My first time seeing Prince live was on this tour in London 💜
Me too, Wembley arena
That's great
86-90 Band didnt really have a name but is known as the Sign O The Times/ Lovesexy band in the fam circle
Oh ok I see
Prince would often start talking without the mic, and we would have to read his lips lol. I think he was just being silly.
It's quite possible. It's also possible he was just talking aloud, too. I do that a lot during these reactions

Very interesting. I think I've only checked out 1 of each so far

That's a really cool idea
Mile Davis said Prince is the combination of Marvin Gaye Duke Ellington James brown Jimi Hendrix and Charplin Chaplan
I can see that, although I don't know if I know who Duke Ellington is
