No idea if you check or read your comments. But I have been watching your video's off and on and noticed that when you talk about fasting it's usually shorter style fasts. 24-72ish hours(like this video) Would you ever consider doing a video on people who do actually do a super long fast, 30-40days? Im not asking if you recommend this type of fasting, but maybe the video could deal with what happens to the body of those who do end up fasting for a super long time? RUclips has people that do in fact do these super long fasts irregardless of wether people think they are safe or not.
I jumped into deciding I wanna do 7 days when I haven’t fasted in over a year and I have felt extremely drained and just sick overall. This explains a lot

I am always stressed out...lol but fasting centers me so, to be honest, I hear this but I know if I just power through the first week of alternate day fasting (my sweet spot is 36 hrs, then 2MAD, then rinse repeat), even when I am stressed, my stress levels reduce ALOT after I adapt to my fasting schedule. Anxiety and stress are often more FOOD-related, and often because of insulin response. Stop the crazy blood sugar spikes and adapt and all of sudden your stress reduces and you begin to lose fat AND not feel like a crazy person. For me, I don't bother getting worried about the body effects of fasting with the first few weeks because it's going to suck no matter what, that is part of what you are trying to get your body to overcome. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Also if you DON"T fast what is your OTHER option for dealing with stress? YEP - you eat like a pig AND/OR workout to the point you drain your adrenal function. SO for me the better choice is fasting.
January I started into fasting. So far this year I've lost 37 lbs. I start at 6pm till about noon to 1:00.. I do have black coffee at 6in morning. Nothing to eat till noonish. I then eat sardines. Then stir fry seafood at 5pm. You talk about acv and some of the spices. I think I can do more. Any suggestions. Forgot to tell. I'm 69 . Couple year ago I weighed 430. I now weigh 312.
Good morning Mr Delauer. I am a huge fan and follower and love learning from studies as you find them and you explain them very well. I am looking for answers… I have looked all over for evidence to help me, but I have yet to find a clear answer. I intermittently fast. I did a 72 hour in January and currently in the middle of a 7 day fast. With cell generation… could this or would this possibly undo the covid vaccine? I had 2 shots in 2021.
Fasting and working yes, but not office work, it has to be physical, not much brain used. At least for me, I cannot put myself over 20/4 without switching my mind to thinking about food constantly. Working outside, doing some project - no problem, I could do it all day, feel hungry, but make it easily.
What about fasting to heal the *medical* condition of chronic stress, where you become easily stressed all the time due to things like good bacteria, vitamin or mineral deficiencies etc. in the body? Wouldn't prolonged fasting benefit that?
I'd be interested in a video on how to make the best out of a colonoscopy prep! They suggest a low fiber diet coming into the fasting period and then switch to "clear liquids" like filtered fruit juice, which left me hungry for two days the last time. What foods will decrease my appetite while I can still eat? How can I clean out my colon and benefit from a 2-3 day fast, and will the prescribed "clean out" treatment break the fast (Dulcolax, Miralax and liquid magnesium citrate). Oh yeah, and how about the IV fluids they start you on when you arrive for your procedure? If at all possible, I'll be taking a protein shake to the hospital to break my fast after the procedure!
I'm kind of like Mark Ruffalo's hulk: "I'm always stressed out." Seriously though, I personally may combine Wim Hof breathing with a long fast. If you haven't tried it, it can be extremely relaxing. I'm as type A as it gets and Wim works for me, that and long walks (also a great fat burner)

Hi Thomas! I have been fasting for one year now, on may 2020, I started IF, but the hunger went away and I started prolonged fasting, first for 3 days, then 5 days for a month, then 12 days, 12 days and 21 days, lost 30 kilos in 2 1/2 months , after refeed and some days later I gained 7 kilos. I started 2-3 days of fasting for 2 months, i was 143 kilos when I started, and I’m 6’2, I went down to 106 kilos, but I gained weight right away 7 kilos after I went back eating and 5 more in 6 months, even though I did keto and IF almost everyday, some months I go for 5 days or 10 days of prolonged fasting, I have been doing 18 hr IF and lifting weights right before my first meal and I have gain lots of muscle I asume due to the HGH in the 18 hr fast, but 2 months ago I’ve notice that I am gaining weight even though I’m doing 2 days water fast every week and eating around 2000 cal, because my stomach can take any more food, some times I do 1 meal and a bullet proof coffee, because it’s too much food. I have done 170 days of water fast in 400 days in total, and taking my electrolytes and teas (ginger, turmeric, green and black teas, etc). In this last 2 months I’ve gained 2 inches in my stomach, doing everything right, now I move to eating my 3 meals a day and trying to eat 3000 calories a day to see if I lowered my BMR of too much fasting, I hope I start seeing some results, I think my body is storing everything I eat in my belly as a distribution center. Do you have any thoughts ? I recently did a 10 day water fast and only lost 1.5 kilos after refeeding, that’s why I am concern ! And some weeks not eating for 2 days and gaining weight in those weeks! Hope you can read this post and give me your feedback, thanks I have lost my weight by using your info in your videos , thnx for sharing your knowledge 👍🏻 !!! I’m very greatfull !!!
Is fasting recommended during menstrual cycle? Had a crazy trip doing keto and if during my cycle. Recommendations appreciated. Thanks for the helpful and informative videos.
Dr. Mindy Pelz has some great information on the best times to fast (and not fast) according to your cycle. She has said fasting during the first 10 days of your cycle is good.
Dr. Mindy Pelz has some great information on the best times to fast (and not fast) according to your cycle. She has said fasting during the first 10 days of your cycle is good.
Put salt in your water and take electrolytes if you can't get mineral water. Also take some vitamins if you don't plan on having tea and coffee during the fast
Dr Peter Attia advocates HIIT Cardio on 1st day of prolonged fasting to deplete glucose & glycogen stored in muscles & liver... then light strength training to maintain muscle mass. By increasing IFG1 & stimulating MTOR in the muscles, the amount of catabolism of muscle due to fasting is greatly decreased.
I really struggle with the information in this video because I am also an emotional eater. However, when things at work are really stressful I feel like I need to break my fast sooner because my cortisol levels get so high I can’t really function. But then I feel bad, because I am giving into emotional eating. I should probably just take electrolytes when I feel like that.
@@jamescollins9483I did have some before just before I broke the fast and had a bit with my lean protein. Doesn't salt increase blood pressure? I was wondering if the salt was to blame 🤔

Im on day 7, in 3 Days i break my fast. Will i eat lean dry empty protein? naaaah Will i eat nutrient Dense foods that will restore my reserves, give me nutrients that will improove my Fat Burning, muscle Building, over all health? HECK YEAH gonna have a great feast like always. I do always 3-5 day fast and then have a OMAD Keto meal when breaking it, sometimes i throw in a 7-10 Day fast. Thats how one can keep going, how you stay motivated, energized. Not overcomplicating things, ristricting and stress yourself when breaking the fast and dont get enough in or the right things. Start with gras fed Burgers or pasture raised eggs, huge salad containing many awesome but low fodmaps&oxalate&phytic acid veggies with MCT and unfiltered olive oil with sheeps cheese, followed by many other delicous nutrient dense foods then rest&digest
Breaking my fast in this manner is exactly what screwed my gut up for the last week since a 72 hour fast! Good for you that you can gorge after a long fast! For myself, I have to take it slow. Bone broth with an egg and wait a couple hours till a moderate meal.
Anyone ever have a skin reaction during a fast? I did my first 36+ hour fast and around 30 hours my cheeks got super hot and red and got a slight rash on them. I went to bed and the next morning it was gone.
So if your in an industry that’s going through a lot of changes & you’re under stress and you don’t get 2 consecutive days off when do you start a fast
My longest fast so far has been three days and I've found day two is the hardest so I would have that as my day off. I always day one when I'm at work for the distractions. If you're under lots of stress maybe the shorter fasts would be better.
Those are outside stressors. You can only control the way you respond. Stress does not have to exist for you. You're letting it happen. If you want to give yourself excuses, you're doing well. If you want to fast, you should do some meditation, or sleep better etc. Learn ways to reduce stress. Then fast.:)
Change your political party to one where there is love/acceptance for ALL PEOPLE and not hate, where everyone who is an American has a right to vote, where the color of your skin is not judged as worthy of unfair and often violent mistreatment. Not sure why socialism is even on your radar to stress about, unless you live in Cuba or some other foreign country. In America, we are a Democratic Republic. Look it up.
Tell me why the last tip REALLY helped me the most LOOOOOOOOOOL. Ive been fat adapted for months now so fasting is no sweat but man boredom is killer for it none the less... I don't have much to do on weekends away from work and wanting to watch shows online makes me psychologically crave food lol

I recently did a 10 day water fast and only lost 1.5 kilos after refeeding, that’s why I am concern ! And some weeks not eating for 2 days and gaining weight in those weeks!

Fasting properly works, folks! Down 30 lbs. in 55 days, . . 20 lbs. to go!

I'm thinking about doing a 3 day long water fast. Any tips?
don't eat
Electrolyte supplement without carbs or calories
Put salt in your water and take electrolytes if you can't get mineral water. Also take some vitamins if you don't plan on having tea and coffee during the fast

But if you say to start on a fast 16 hr 3 times a week... I plan on starting on doing the 18:6 or 20:4 so wont I already be doing a "fast" then?
I broke my 24 hr fast and now I'm agitated and irritable.
Also my blood pressure is elevated.
What's up???
Himalayan salt
@@jamescollins9483I did have some before just before I broke the fast and had a bit with my lean protein.
Doesn't salt increase blood pressure?
I was wondering if the salt was to blame 🤔
Any opinion om +24 hours fast while healing the gut?
Can it cause problems?:)
Hi I'm on day 25 of my fast. I just jumped into it. Did I screw up? And if so what do I do so that I didn't waste all those days. HELP.
Can you adresss vomitting on a 48hr fast?
Good, or bad?
I can see the body trying to get rid of all the toxins its trying to get in Autopathy.
But I started to really deteriorate after 48hrs.
Don't you recommend fasting on days your cortisol is already spiked??
Cortisol stores fat or something doesn't it?
Are eggs or a cheese omelet good for breaking a 3-7 day fast?
What about mag water from the Root Cause Protocol with Morley Robbins?
So, the B12 and other additional supplements can be taken during the long fast?
What is the best way to cure colorectal cancer😢 I need your help please 😭🙏🏻
I am in my leaning into my 72 hrs now whats your take on taking creatine during a fast ?
Im on day 7, in 3 Days i break my fast.
Will i eat lean dry empty protein? naaaah
Will i eat nutrient Dense foods that will restore my reserves, give me nutrients that will improove my Fat Burning, muscle Building, over all health? HECK YEAH
gonna have a great feast like always.
Start with gras fed Burgers or pasture raised eggs, huge salad containing many awesome but low fodmaps&oxalate&phytic acid veggies with MCT and unfiltered olive oil with sheeps cheese, followed by many other delicous nutrient dense foods
then rest&digest
Breaking my fast in this manner is exactly what screwed my gut up for the last week since a 72 hour fast! Good for you that you can gorge after a long fast! For myself, I have to take it slow. Bone broth with an egg and wait a couple hours till a moderate meal.
I'm clipping that intro soundbite and using it as a ringtone for my bae
Question: Should I be concerned about the glycine in magnesium glycinate or the taurine in magnesium taurinate if taken during a prolonged fast?
More about Heart Rate Variability....please.
16 hr fast still ok if already under stress?
Hw says right at the start is over 24 hours
@@Acularis yeah i know. As someone who lives under stress 24/7 i was asking for additional info.
Anyone ever have a skin reaction during a fast? I did my first 36+ hour fast and around 30 hours my cheeks got super hot and red and got a slight rash on them. I went to bed and the next morning it was gone.
I’ve heard of this happening
I make 21 days fast regulary
2:00 why am I getting a Bon**
I'm always stressed 😫
Take a breather jeez
How in the hell…bro I’m literally doing a long fast as we speak and this gets uploaded…wild
And now you till me!
Life is too short for HRV
So if your in an industry that’s going through a lot of changes & you’re under stress and you don’t get 2 consecutive days off when do you start a fast
My longest fast so far has been three days and I've found day two is the hardest so I would have that as my day off. I always day one when I'm at work for the distractions. If you're under lots of stress maybe the shorter fasts would be better.
Fantastic information
So you’re saying we should skip turkey leg at Disney land☠️
The turkey says yes, skip it 🦃
Are u kidding. , it seems fasting is out for me with the stress of , socialism , mask & The Jab. Etc. what can I do until we win the next election.
Turn off the news seek God ...stress goes away
@@baptizedintheholyspirit9691 So true!
Look it up.
Thanks for the video Thomas!
Good video.
So don’t fast when you’re stressed, don’t fast when you’re bored, don’t drink too much water, don’t exercise in the middle of your fast, might as well not fast. Got it
Awesome! Thanks!
Great info. Thanks.
Can somebody tell me about sodium intake if I drink 6 liters of water daily?
You Going to mess up your electrolyte that’s for sure happened to me
You need to intake sodium because your body will expel it and other minerals.
@@mutarrsrtrawally6753 thanks for answer! What do you do to correct that?
@@CarbageMan thanks for answer. How much sodium i must to intake? I workout in the gym 6 times a week, i have 225 pounds and i drink 6 liters of water daily, my pottasium intake is 4.7 grams daily. I Read sodim secret weapon from site T-Nation, they say for every liters of water you must intake 2 grams of sodium.
