- The 2020 Mini Cooper Hardtop 2-Door Oxford Edition is a big name for a car this small. Its small size is in its favor, however, as this is one of the most pure Mini driving experiences one can find in the new-car market. With a 6-speed manual transmission and a turbocharged three-cylinder motor, this little hatchback zips around city streets and country back roads with a satisfying lightness. Join Charlie as he tells you everything you need to know about this special edition Mini.
This video is filmed (mostly) with binaural, in-ear microphones, so what you hear is what he hears from the driver's seat.

wow finally someone that actually likes start stop like me 😂
FIRST!!
Always wanted to do that.
Excellent review! I have a 2015 fairly loaded with steptronic auto. I enjoy “manually shifting” but not the same as my 06 MINI S straight manual. I do appreciate smoother ride though...😉
Just discovered this video. This was a great style. I am very smitten with the Cooper. Seems like a lot of automotive journalist agree they are fun to drive but you went into more depth with daily living. The only sin I have found is lack of apple car play without paying the big bucks. And that 3 cylinder is a great engine with a surprisingly great sound. And on weekend trips with two people the interior storage for just little items is, umm,....challenging.
I love my Mini Cooper and I’ll have to upgrade to a new one some day but I want the speedo back in the middle :(
I have a. Mini same features and it’s base but it’s everything I needed and could afford.
Great video with superb points! Could I enquire whether the clutch is not too heavy as I am a slender dude used to driving a Micra with a feather-weight clutch and whilst I realise that German cars have heavier clutches but a heavy one would not be great for town driving. Your thoughts?
Nice video thank you! Very honest review. Not sure about that bonnet catch. Never did like slamming bonnets!!
Thanks, glad you liked it! Yeah, that was extremely frustrating, and then even more frustrating to find that all we needed to do was slam it. Strange things happen I suppose.
Great review.
Thanks!
you just drop the hood from like 12-20 in height for BMW hood latches
Do u know how to change info on the analog gauge cluster?
Videos about how to just suck it up and live with it. But good in depth review of what the car has for its base model
This unit doesn't have rear speakers?
you mentioned your height briefly, should a rly tall person consider this car?
Third!
Second!
Bettee than A class mercedes ?
Well I don’t know how to drive anything but an automatic transmission which I have in my beautiful Mini Countryman.
Nope, it means I seriously shouldn’t consider it. For 5k more you’re in an S or a Civic Si.
Fourth!
