Very good video, much appreciation. I have a bluetooth model (new) where the motor is turning but not the drum in the retract mode. Wish I knew how the drum works. I see there is a tension (?) spring inside the drum wrap and there is a drive pin (your video). What I cannot figure out is why it will deploy but not retract. It appears the drum moves maybe 1/8th of a turn on the retract command but then stops and the motor shaft still spins. I am thinking torsion spring broken, possibly cams if there are any, possibly shaft pin sheared or perhaps its a malfunctioning board that senses too much load on the motor while trying to retract. Do you happen have any ideas? Talon was installed 13 months ago. Thanks and kudos for a very good video.
robfishn, yes. My issue was the control board in the upper end of the Talon. MK repaired it under warranty at a local repair shop. When I took it in they felt like there was a larger problem b/c they had never seen a control (circuit) board failure but a new one solved it completely. I know for sure the board was swapped for new b/c the manufacture date is stamped on the board and I checked it after the repair. It's pretty easy to get to and looks like a fairly simple fix, just not sure what they cost as mine was on MK's wallet. Best of luck. My Talons have been great for me and I use them alot in salt water. I do feel a good cleaning with talons extended will really help keep them working properly.
Love all of your videos!!! Very detailed and Helpful.......
Do you have a video on how to replace the third stage latch on a Talon?

Did you ever get a resolution to this issue? I have the exact same issue now and can't find any info out there

@markharrison1045 , thanks for the response! That really helps.
If my Talon has a Serial # 0343MK00045 can you tell me if this is a Bluetooth model?
Had my question answered by calling Humminbird directly. However, have you posted a video on replacing the cables? Thanks
Unfortunately, We don’t have a video of the cable replacement yet. We do have one in the works that we’ll be posting in the future.
@@trollingmotorparts Thanks for the update. I'll look forward to viewing it.
