- Back up cameras are very a convenient accessory but they tend to be a bit fragile. They can become inoperative when subjected to collision, corrosion and even slamming an SUV's hatch down too hard. In this video, the vehicle owner and I show you how we replaced the back up camera in his SUV.

Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience!
I looked everywhere to find a way to remove the panel clips.Didnt know they were just temporary. thanks for the video, great help!!
Hi - You're welcome and thanks for watching!
What a great video! But that Mark guy ... I don't know :)
Where can I find the replacement clips. They are not at my local autoparts store
Hi - Thanks for watching! The dealership parts department should be able to help you with the clips. That's where I go when the local parts stores don't have what I need.
I've been having a real problem with this. How'd you get the yellow tabs off in the far corners. I can't get to them
I broke mine off with long pliers. I am literally putting it back together right now

Hi - Thanks for watching! It's actually a real dog that was in the car the whole time.
I want to remove the backup camera from my Rav 4. How do I remove it? I don't want to replace it.
Hi - Thanks for watching! I don't have that information, so I would like to suggest that you check with a service/repair manual for your vehicle (available at the dealership and auto parts stores) for the procedure.
Great video! Love the detail about the plastic clips. Before watching this video, I broke one off whilst trying to remove the panel and was rather worried until you guys set me straight!!
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience!
Looking for this camera on Ebay and find some are described as being non color...(Black and White?) this one was obviously color.. any name of vendor would be helpful.
Hi - Thanks for watching! The vehicle owner brought the camera and I think he said he bought it on Amazon. Hopefully he will jump in here and provide the information you need.
Great video just replaced my camera in 2017 kia sorento, followed exact steps with no problems. T u
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience!
So I was a able to get the plastic part down but I broke the top clips now I’m trying to inscrew the bolts where the tail lights are but one of the bolts are weathered and stripped is there a way to get it off with out getting the tail lights out?
Hi - Thanks for watching! You can usually get replacement clips from auto parts stores. I'm not sure about the tail light situation, but I would think you would have to remove it eventually to replace a bulb. If you can get a flat blade screwdriver or similar tool under the head of the stripped bold and pry while you turn the wrench you might be able to remove it.
But did it work when you were finished? Would have been nice to see the result of your labour.
Hi - Thanks for watching! The video's thumbnail was created with the new camera.
Any videos on the button that opens the hatch? Mine is failing but about to replace the camera first. Not sure if I need to buy a switch or another part yet.
Hi - Thanks for watching! I haven't created any videos on hatch buttons, but hopefully a service/repair manual like the ones in auto parts stores can provide the information you need.
@@WrenchinUpwithJimBates Thanks! I completely replaced the hatch, backup light and license plate lights on this model. Found out the electricity is wired together and the only thing that works after is the license plate lights, so there must be a short in the wiring somewhere. Also, those two clips that we took out made the body piece a little loose when put back together.
Hii sir
what is the price of the camera
Hi - Thanks for watching! I don't have any pricing information, so I recommend that you check with your local auto parts stores or on-line for pricing and availability.
Video came in handy trying to change my backup camera on my moms 2016 Tucson. 👍🏻
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your experience!
Unforgiven
I cant figure it out how to change it on my tucson 2016. Any help you can provide with?
Thanks for your useful video. It was very helpful.
Hi - You're welcome and thanks for watching!
did you crack some plastic snaps/clip?
Hi - Thanks for watching! I think the vehicle owner did but he said he would get some new ones from the dealership parts department and replace them later.
Well done video and knowledge.
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your opinion!
Ok
Hi - Thanks for watching!
Nice dog!
Hi - Thanks for watching! He's the car owners' dog who put up with the filming without barking. Good boy!
can you put de link for buy a camera?
Hi - Thanks for watching! I think the vehicle owner said he bought the camera from Amazon.
Wrenchin' Up with Jim Bates Thanks xD
Thanks for the video .. does all the factory backup camera has screw to secure it like the one in video? Because I wonder when we wash car and wipe that accidentally , did I move it at different angle? If so it won't be accurate when we rely on it to park .. so they all should he pretty tight and secure right? Thanks for the video again
Hi - Thanks for watching! I only have experience with the one we installed. You will probably have to check out the reviews for any camera you are interested in.
No. The camera is fixed at a pre-determined angle for the model....that's why you change the mounting bracket for the original on your car: To maintain that angle.
Why do you have to remove the inner panel to get to the camera? You can just remove the hatch lift.
Hi John - Thanks for watching! It's been awhile since the video was made but I think we tried to follow the instructions in either a service manual or that came with the camera. But thanks for sharing your tip!
It is impossible to access the camera without removing the outer fascia.......
Which is held onto the hatch within.....access to the nuts can only be accessed AFTER the inner panel is removed.
Dear God.
By not replacing the clips you leave holes for water and dust will get in and cause rust
Hi - Thanks for watching and sharing your very helpful comment.
Then why not tape over those two holes with a piece of duct tape.?.... Even with brand new clips...moisture & dust gets in...most cameras fail due to that fact.
(They are only there to speed up assembly in the factory, as was explained in the video. GGMS.)
