“Well actually nvm it is a Kia it’ll probably blow the whole thing up” is the most accurate statement I’ve ever heard. Just got mine back after 3 months in the shop
I've been searching for how to wire a new camera into my 2011 Sorento for a couple of hours now and found your video which shows me everything I need to know! Thanks!
Don't think you saw my Innova comment but anyway...thanks for the tutorial fellow DG'er. I took the leap and bought a $20 universal camera from eBay. 2 weeks later it arrived. Boy was I surprised when I cut open my harness and saw 6 wires not 4! Luck would have it that my camera also had 6 wires! Problem though, the colours don't match. Not even close...orange, grey and an extra red, oh crap. Took some educated guesses, wired it up and BINGO - first try. Epoxy that bad boy tomorrow and I saved $200 canuck bucks. Cheers
Worked for a Kia Sportage too! Thank you very much! The wiring tips were a huge time saver. btw, the camera is at $9 now but still dirt cheap. Thanks again!
This is exactly what I'm hoping I can do on a 2015 soul. Oem cams are expensive. Display shows the lines but no video. Worst case, I'm out $7. Thanks for sharing this video.
hey. thank you. I got a camera for my kia Sportage 2012 since it got none installed, but didn't find the wire where I should Plug the new camera... do you know how is it called or where is it (for the Yellow plug type not video)
Thank you so much for the video I did exactly same u did same camera works great, but I put the camera, heat the place little bit to extend the house for camera set very good Thanks again
Great video, just did it!!! Got a cheap camera on eBay that looked similar to the Kia. The only thing I added was some clear silicon glue to seal up so moisture can get it in. I figured with all that corrosion it wouldn't hurt to try.
Thanks for the video mine is a 2014 and have the same problem with the camera I think it’s a defect with their crap but you know you can’t tell them anything so now I’m trying to figure out how to get one my mom got me 🧐🤔 which attaches to license plate wired to the car 🤦♀️🤦♀️ this is going to be fun
REVISED WIRING: The pigtail power lead that is included, gets wired to the red and black, that's the power side fixed. Red to Red and Black to Black. Then cut several inches off the 6 meter long cable and strip it back. There are 3 wires in the black sheath, Red, Black and Yellow. The white goes to the black on the Kia and the yellow goes to the yellow on the Kia. Dont use the two reds, that are left over. Use solder to hold it together, and use glue filled shrink tubing to keep it dry. Reassemble and test, align the camera and you are back in business.
Thanks for your video. My 2011 Kia Sorento camera does not have a plug like yours. It's a solid wire from the camera to the point it leaves the tailgate until the main part of the car. I cut the wire, and there are 5 wires: red, black, white, green, yellow. I bought the same replacement camera. Any idea what the five wires could be?
My original camera was a Rydeen hd705n-170b. There is almost no search results on it. I called the company that made the camera, and they were able to help me. black - ground, red - power, yellow - video, white - mirror image (not sure what that means exactly), green - parking lines. My video is on the rear view mirror, not the stereo. The original camera had no parking lines. I'm assuming I will ignore the green wire. He also told me that the camera does have a 6 foot cable and a plug, but apparently it plugs in after it leaves the tailgate. Thanks again for your video. Hopefully my comment will help someone as well. If so, 4:30 is the point of the video that summarizes how the wires connect.

HI, THANKS FOR THE INFO. 1 QUESTION THOUGH, WHEN YOURE CONNECTING THE NEW CAMERA WIRES TO THE OLD CONNECTOR, ON THE POWER SIDE YOU SAY CONNECT THE BLACK TO BLACK BUT THERE WAS NO BLACK WIRE WHEN YOU CUT IT OPEN, JUST A RED AND A GROUND. SO IS IT THE GROUND THAT GOES TO BLACK AND RED TO RED?
Duplicate Grid Lines: Hello. Can someone tell me how to get rid of the extra gridlines? I see in this video when he briefly showed the screen, it also had the double grid lines. Wondering how I get rid of them?
Ok thanks...I bought a camera on eBay that match the same model number on my 2014 Sorento EX for $127, installed it and it’s all good now,...that Dy project saved me a couple hundred dollars.
@@wjdc893 hi, what was the image like? Complete black screen or no camera feed but had the overlay distance markers red and yellow? I have a 2014 Sorento sx with initially no camera feed only overlay not now it's completely black

Hi, can you identify which camera (brand/model) you found on Amazon that worked for you? I have the identical Sorento to do this for. Thanks!

Does this camera works on the 2014 Kia Sorento EX 3.3L ???
WJ DC I have no clue. I just took a chance and tried it on mine and thought I’d share my results. Good luck.

Used the same. 👍
Same problem but a 13’ Kia sorento wish me luck
So the video yellow to yellow, white to white, power red to red and black to black
Used your video to replace camera. Those 4 10 mm and white clips were kinda boogers
No thanks… breaking all that enclosed in the trim for saving $40 . I bought the OEM camera for $50 , perfect and easy .
