Must admit, from being an Aussie Ford and Holden boy these two cars are up there with my favourites. Thank you Carnage for doing something different with a Volvo and Mazda
So good to see! Got to love those reliable, tough Japanese engines! You'd probably have thrown two barra blocks in the bin by now. Also, have to say I like the higher production quality on the videos this year; better shots, editing, sound and music, it's all getting pretty polished!
I just love the Trollvo when I grew up here in Norway there were a lot of those cars here but now it's far between every time you see them. looks like it's going the right way.
Scotty you should be very proud, built two 9second cars, (which now need to go head to head 😁) and your driving down the quarter is impressive and bringing in the pb's. Congratulations brother
Tbh i haven't kept up with the build series, but may I say what a beautiful job you have done an that is a car I'd love to own myself amazing job and I'm sooooo happy for you and your channel 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Top work Scotty it's taken some blood sweat and tears but you got the single digit Swede pass you were hoping for !!! The beers would have been sweet that night 🤣👍🍻
@@STREETMACHINETV Yeah definitely. It looked like you dropped some speed when it shifted up into top gear maybe is what i was thinking i saw in the later runs, still good result!
Also, I still can't believe that a stock bottom end 1JZ can handle this power level. I know that alot of people had made much more power on stock bottom ends, but they never last. Trolvo has just the right amount of power and it's tuned well. It just needs some tweaks to get it up to 9s.
@10:02, Do a Pro tree! Reaction time for the win! Bloody great video Scotty & crew! Grat's on the 9's in a 1 Grit Brick ha ha. Hope it isn't too hurt or the MX5, haven't seen that video yet, is it even up? Either way great work man Congrats!
1:01 Ace, when you say "whatever you need we can make it happen"... I want to put a turbine on a bicycle. Flywheel driving the compressor by chain. Using a freewheel driver off the second side of the wheel hub. Allowing the flywheel to keep spinning and sucking for a time after the bike has stopped stationary, assisting while underway.
@@STREETMACHINETV yeah true, they cost a few grand now. When you factor in things that need upgrading on Barra to make good power :valve springs, oil pump gears, head studs etc it kinda evens out. Then there's the rods, the later big rod turbo motors are expensive now and green tops have gone up significantly thanks partly to you guys 🤪. Transmission choices for the Barra are also very expensive, an A340 can take some serious power with minor mods.
@@STREETMACHINETV 100% back in the day, 1JZs were plentiful. I don't push mine to the max it can make now, as I can't afford to pick up an engine if I accidentally push it too hard.
@@Low760 I'm not referring to this car specifically, my point is overall the 1J is probably a better choice for a budget build overall for anyone starting from scratch, particularly with smaller cars. Then add valve springs, head studs, oil pump gears etc. Then there's transmission choice, the BTR is expensive to do right, the ZF turbo box can take some power but are far less common than the non turbo box. Congrats on the 9s boys! Gotta admit, it feels kind of weird to see drag racing at Heathcote without at least one of the Fullboost boys skulking around in the background...
It's funny - my 1JZ is in the similar region of horsepower to the Trolvo, but because it's behind a 6 speed manual, I doubt very much that it could even do 11's with me behind the wheel (I'm a drag racing newbie). 9's is very very quick. A reward for all the hard work you endured with this car. Where to from here? More cubes, i.e 3.0 2JZ-GE bottom end and a hit of nitrous to see if you can get it into the 8's?
A 9.895 in the Trolvo, Congrats Scotty :-) Big jump from the 10.1 before that! Might be time for a new torque convertor though or a trans flush at the least coz she was probably driving right through those last few night runs. That 240 is just miles of smiles lol

@Azza Zaaz I've had this car 16yrs now. I had a blue one that I bought for $1000, insured, crashed it, got $3500 back after excess, bought this one for $2000. Blew up THREE 7M motors before I went 1J in 2007, and drove it around for 3yrs before I parked it up. This is a rebuild of a build that has now gone so far out of control, the only thing I'm doing now is comparing the costs to the deposit of a house I could've had. 😂👍
Good Job Scotty 👏 👍🏻,
You need a "Need For Swed" Sticker on the rear window. That should give you at least 5% more HP just in that alone.
