Instead of making just melts you can make your wax scoop-able this is a fun sellable idea for your customers! You will need: 16 oz Good quality soy wax 12 oz Coconut oil refined or unrefined 4 oz of Fragrance oil Glass or Tin container Presto Kettle to melt wax Wooden or plastic spoon for scooping out wax Metal pour/mixing pot Scale for weighing out wax and fragrance oil Colorant if desired Directions 1. I have a question 😊 how much percentage% is wax and oil? Would help a lot coz i cant figure out with 16 and 12 oz how much is in %! Coz i want to make more and im confusing please help

I followed this recipe but cut it down to a fourth of the recipe because I want to make several different scents. I made this last night and it is setting up extremely slow. How long does it take to solidify? Thank you
Please don't do this. This comment is incorrect as the recipe is in weight not fluid ounces. For example, coconut oil has a density if 0.92 which means 8 fluid ounces, or 1 cup, actually weighs 7.36 ounces. And fragance oils are all very different in weight vs volume as well. Since the fragrance oil needs to be added as a percentage of the wax and base oils you will not be able to determine an accurate amount to add to your finish product.
Hi I'm sorry we didn't get a notification of a question. Yes you can add it when its solid and yes you can whip it to make it fluffier. Visit our site www.greatcandle.com for more instructions. Thank you !!!
Marissa Calcione Yes, that is the correct amount. Since using Coconut oil which has a low melt point it does take awhile to set up so you may need a cooler enviorment for it to set up.
Diane Woronick depends on your wax, I’ve had wax that takes more then 6-24hrs to set and the wax I use now sets with in an hour. So that’s a huge factor in how long it takes to set, I get impatient sometimes and stick them in the freezer haha 😂
Hi Jasmine! We haven't used it before, but Palm Oil might work well, as it has a similar consistency and melt point. We always recommend testing. :) Hopefully that helps - Jess.
Not only considering the wax but also the coconut oil added. This recipe has been a great one for scent throw, you can try less fragrance oil if you want.
@@SoyCandleSupplies Even with the Coconut Oil included, the Fragrance Oil totaled to 14.2%. Way too much Fragrance Oil. Even if it's only for Wax Melts/Scoopable Wax.
I made this recipe last night and it's still watery nd has not solidified. Also being that coconut oil has such a low melting point, how well is this going to ship?
Hi...I really liked your video it was very informative...That being said i have a question, I have been told over & over again from different candle/tart maker's tht you must only use 1 to 1.5oz's of fragrance in a recipe (i am always using 2 or more ounces per pound of wax) Why is it tht you use 4oz's?? & another question, can coconut oil weaken the fragrance in wax or is it a myth & why would ppl say tht coconut oil weaken's fragrance in the 1st place...I see tht you are a professional at candle/tart making this is why i am asking, Thank You please respond back...
Glad you enjoyed the video. I How much fragrance to add depends on your wax, how much fragrance it can handle. Certain waxes can hold more of a fragrance load than others so use according to the manufacturer also Some fragrances you can add more some less, you must test to see what works best for you.
+Blanco Noir Not sure where you heard from that coconut oil weakens the fragrance. I always heard that coconut oil strengthens the fragrance oil in Soy Wax.
My experience is that for candle wax the limit is 1oz fragrance oil to 1 pound of wax because that is usually the max that the wax can hold before it will bleed or not incorporate well. This recipe includes coconut oil that is not a wax and can hold more fragrance....
Hello good evening everybody. Could someone please tell me what coconut oil I need to use? I'm really confused as they sell it in B&M would that be ok or would it be more reasonable for me to get it from a supplier and is it the same oil please I'm desperate to find out. Thank you so much and I look forward to any response preferably someone who knows what they're doing please and thank you so much. Have a lovely evening and stay safe xx

Its a scoopable wax it won't solidify
Can you help me about how can we know the FO depends on the amount of the wax and coconut oil? Are there percentages of each one?
Can you use 6006 and coconut oil from the atore
Hello
Can you use vegetable oul instead of coconut oil
What other oil can we use instead of coconut oil?
Measurements in Cups
16oz = 2 Cups Ecosoya CB135 Soy Wax known as Q220 now.
12oz = 1 1/2 Cups Vegetable Oil or Sweet Almond, Olive Oil, Castor (I used Sweet Almond Oil)
4oz = 1/2 Cup Fragrance Oil
Natasha Green isn’t a cup 16 oz?
@@formyloveofsuds1912 no 8 oz = 1 cup so 16 oz = 2 cups.

Can you add the coconut oil when it is solid and melt it with the soy? Can you also whip it to make it fluffier?

I followed your recipe and it came out very soft and oily. Also, is 4 oz. the correct amount for the fragrance oil ?

Mine turned out hard
Great video - thanks.x
Was your Coconut Oil that you used Refined, or Unrefined?
You can use either refined or unrefined
Approximately how long should a 4oz. Container of this blend take to set ?

nice video can this recipe can be cut in half , thanks
Yes, you can cut this in half
That's seems like a ton of fragrance oil. It's like 14-15% is that correct or was that an error?
Way to much fo! That's like 20%
Wayyyy too much fragrance. Fragrance droplets will be everywhere, not to mention the headache someone will get.
Is there any other oil I can use as I'm Allergic to coconut ?
I really want to try these xx

can you use paraffin wax instead of soy? if so do you use the same recipe?
I haven't tried it, please test first.
Is there a certain temp you need to add FO at??
Randi Nicely I recommend added fo at 175
Thanks ♡

You can use any coconut oil, I prefer buying the fractionated coconut oil itself and I use coconut wax for these also
There are many different types/temperatures of coconut oil. Did you use 76 or 92 deg? If you used 92 did you melt it first?
Katie Naylor
76 degrees, hope that helps!
how much do you sell them for
Depending on the size of the container but I would price them the same as candles.
Can I use paraffin wax ??
how much can you sell a 8oz jar
Retail is usually three times whatever it cost you to make it. Hopefully that helps you. - Jess
I have followed this recipe, but my scoopable wax is smoking? can you tell me why this is please
When is it smoking? While in Melter? Perhaps the fragrance oil itself, just cut back on that particular scent.
Your written recipe says vegetable oil yet you say coconut oil only in comments. Which is it?
Coconut oil, we edited it thank you.
Is this edible
MARY Kate Mcneil no
No....you are using candle wax and fragrance oil - do not eat it
shut your mouth Johnna/ I can put whatever I want into my mouth/including wax
I'd advise you not to do that..
