- Warning! Low Rez Video!
Story:
During the 2007 Poison Tour, my crew and I, (Rockett Drum Works crew) decided to build a drum kit on show day, off the back of an Airstream trailer no less! What transpires it's almost a miracle!
Background:
Rockett Drum Works was my own custom drum company that I owned and operated for close to 11 years. I stopped producing drums when I went through a bout of cancer. I never resumed building drums. I miss it sometimes, but my new partnership with Yamaha drums is fantastic. Видеоклипы
This pin stripping is pretty cool. Kinda cutting it close though ,for a concert that night.
I have always been a huge fan of Rikki's drum kit designs.
My Grandpa used to shag cars for a living but he made his bank roll pin stripping and putting in sunroofs. He was crazy good. My Uncle used to help him stripe but being the true artist of the family got bored of it pretty quick and started doing murals on the sides of vans and hoods. I still remember going to work with them as a kid in the late 70's, the way the wax and paint smelled was so good. So cool to see someone with those same skills doing it freehand like a boss. Great video Rikki, thank you for posting! :)
That was so great seeing you behind the scenes, of you creating your drums . 🥁Thanks again for sharing ✨️💜
Neon green will always be my favorite color because of poison
Very very cool. Thanks so much for sharing this. Keep rocking !!!
Very cool kit. Thanks for sharing.
You’re my idol brother. Always have been since the 80’s. I became a much better showman as a drummer because of you! I’m 57. Dying of cancer. It’s brutal. I sure wish I could meet you ❤❤❤❤
From one drummer to another… sending positive vibes to you in your battle.
@@sjdrummerboy thank you , I’m a little concerned. Excruciating pain. Please never do chemo. It’s napalm
@@sjdrummerboy I remember I was In Indianapolis and my girlfriend was mad at me, hadn’t talked, there was a band I knew playing at a big club and we were both there. I sat in and played “ Talk dirty to me” and played it well. She came over and we made up.
@@Arthur-ke9vz I know what you’re dealing with. Lost my Sister {my assistant for 30 years} to pancreatic cancer in 2018 and lost My Mom {manager and #1 Fan) in 2020 to lung cancer. I’m sending my deepest gratitude to you in all you’re battling.
@@sjdrummerboy thank you so much. I hope Rikki reaches out. He means so much to me. I am the showman drummer I am due to him. As a kid seeing him on mtv, long before the internet or cell phones. We had to go to the record store and buy magazines
My in-laws had a booth at Sturgis every year until about 2010. They sold some nice Indian jewelry. It was my father-laws favorite venue and they likely heard you play that year. 👍
Yep, turned out pretty damn good.
Nice story 🎉 wih you cotinue making custome drums
I love how spontaneous this is fantastic 🥁
How freakin' cool is this! Thank you for the insight from behind the scenes
They look amazing🤘🏻🤘🏻🥁🥁🔥🔥
Very awesome ❤
Badass! Pinstriping is such an art.
"Uncle Bob Comb-Over" seems more fitting. Oof.
👍
Rocket, should’ve had the drums 🥁 kit assembled 🔩, and then had it painted 👨🏼🎨🎨 the day of the show 🏟️. Not the best planning to meet a deadline.
Next tour- L.A. Guns!
Wondered why it had chrome lugs but black spur legs & mounts. Then you said, you had to use old ones off another bass drum.
How did it turn out? I'll see at the end, but I'm asking anyway😅
Green.
the finish is great! Did they use common paint? or any one in particular?
To bad i never bought a set from Rikkie
'Promo sm' 🙄
