Hahahaha I was thinking the same thing. That said, he has improved since his heyday. A lot. Personally I wish he was this good back in the day. Maybe I would’ve taken them more serious as musicians than pretty boys.
I met Rikki in 1983 in the Merton, Harrisburg PA. The following year, he had the courage to get out of this town and go for it. Just look at what would have been lost if he stayed here. An amazing talent, and killer drummer.
Most Poison songs are pretty straight forward rockers, so you only get to hear Rikki do a few fills here and there and maybe a big ending of fills. So its so cool when he does his solo, and really goes crazy on drums !
Fucking awesome I'm 50 now I remember seeing poison in 89 and 90 and I will never forget those concerts I love these guys always will they are true rockers every one of em
One of the most underrated drummers ever. Not because hes the 'best drummer ever", but hes waaaay better than he gets credit for. (Thats what underrated means, btw).
basically a watered down version of Peart's early 90's solo compilation which by todays standards is pretty basic stuff. Check out Steve Lange or Dylan Elise latest to see where drumming has progressed to . . it will blow you away.
every musicians have their own individual and way of how to express themselves through their music.it's not always about how fast how diffcult or compllicated u can perform or play however it goes with his passion and enthusiasm combined.yet of course the long period of hard working on his drum.if his playing touches the bottom of someone's mind then he's already successful.the most delicious foods aren't always made by the expensive ingredients!!!
This is rock-solid by any standard in any era and fits the band and crowd he's playing to. Judging him fairly? Not even close. But hey, there's a elitist dick in every crowd ready to take a Poison cheap shot so, I'm not blown away by that.
+GigoloDownBelow Possible. He's also an avid jiu jitsu enthusiast, and that's one of the most physically demanding combat sports out there. He's been rolling in jiu jitsu for about 17 years.
Chill brotha. Everyone ages differently and outer appearances aren’t always indicative of the individual’s health (within reasonable bounds). I’m 51 years old, muscular, flat stomach, only 5’7, full head of hair and carry 200 lbs like it’s 170 lbs. Yet I have chronic arthritis in my left hip for which I stay CONSTANTLY medicated. You wouldn’t know it looking at me. Rikki Rocket might look fat to us but he might be healthier than us internally. I’d trade 30 lbs of muscle for Rikki’s good left hip. We just don’t know.
Is this Rikki Rockett?? He's actually a decent drummer. I guess now he's older and he ain't got those silly outfits and makeup on, he can NOW concentrate on being a decent musician.
@@Carriesaglock Ok sure… Because Rikki is known for being such a virtuoso. Honestly, I like them both, but you cannot compare the two when it comes to musicianship and showmanship. Tommy wins every time. He flew his drums through arenas on a roller coaster for god sakes. He is also known for being a solid musician. Rikki had to have professional drummers come in and play his parts while recording Look What The Cat Dragged In.
It’s amazing how many drummer incorporate Neil Pearts solo into their own.

He made an ugly Barbie doll...but a solid drummer!
More than an influence, it seems like a full-fledged plagiarism, although it must be recognized that even plagiarizing Neil is not easy at all.
I always took him for a Peter Criss level drummer. But he actually has some chops. This definitely reminded me of parts of Neil’s solos.

He knows his stage. This is what makes a concert.
Much better than I have ever expected. I liked this a bunch, actually. Quite groovy, too!
As a non Poison fan, I am a fan of this.
Entertaining. He did better than I thought.
Love Rikki & His Playing🤘🖤🥁
That tone is friggin PERFECT! Love it!
great drummer, the most talented of the band
True
Fucking awesome I'm 50 now I remember seeing poison in 89 and 90 and I will never forget those concerts I love these guys always will they are true rockers every one of em
Dude has gotten better..love it.

Rickki Rocket is not only a kick ass drummer, but a black belt in martial arts and can whip some ass!!!!
Underrated drummer, i love this solo. really cool
Underrated?????..good lord..Lars Ulrich is almost as bad
@@joeburton1232 why is he bad?
I've seen these guys in concert plenty of times. Love Rikki's solos'.
It amazing ❤
I always loved Ricks drum solos. They have a groove to them. I don't care how technical it is, it's just fucking cool.
Lots of Tommy Aldridge moves in the mix here....
Gotta love those stock loops from the roland spd-Sq
Rockett Drums are the sh-t!
I just read in the N.Y. daily news that he's battling cancer. Prayers for a full recovery.
Drums sound amazing an look beautiful
I don’t remember him being that good in the 80’s
He is an amaZing drummer!
So. That rocked. 2 thumbs up, Mr. R.
HE IS FUCKING AWESOME
Mi veneno
I think Rikki Rockett still kicks ass on those drums ..he was good in poison and hes still got it ..the Rockett keeps rocking
Love Rikki!
Okay so he's not quite Neil Peart but that was one hell of a solo, he's damn good no question about that :)
I was surprised at how good he is ,bravo Rikki.
Awesome!
xoxo The Clarences
Hop on em !! rikki ricket !!!!!!
That snare sounds fantastic, just the sound I need
The best.
God I love that snare sound does anyone know how he tunes that drum

Great drum solo!!! Fucking awesome!!!!
Lots of Neil Peart drum riffs..
Ladies and gentlemen, mister Chris Griffin on the drums!!
Anybody know how old Rikki Rockett is?
Dave Spinn 52 ;)
@@NickTheStick12 REALLY HE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE IT
Lol. Ok.
What happened to his drum brand, he is with DW now
I love Ricky rocket but tell me he didn't copy rush?
Rush copied others
Not a fan but his drums sound great
We get it Jose. He turned. 52 five months ago.
A surprisingly decent drummer. Definitely much better than one would expect being "Poison's drummer."
A little bit Alan Whiteish at times. I notice he is on DW again. I thought he'd be playing his brand still.

Every head has is stick .. 😂
he must eat bad cause playing drums like this every night etc he should be thin and no neck fat or gut..just sayn

At least he isn't doing drugs
He is vegan, too. Everyone ages differently, and everyone is built differently. Don't assume.

dude? that was the style that time lol :)
you are right
a lot if these glamsters are focussed on music now
even Tommy Lee
Drum solos are so ridiculous. The only ones worth watching are Tommy Lee’s.
This is way better than any Tommy Lee solo I ever saw. Tommy Lee is barely mediocre.

Good drummer with sings, soloing is not his strength.
