Gentex GECB-24PWB (Blue Commander 3): All Tones Demo

  • I'm pretty sure we've heard the tones of the Gentex Commander 2/3/4 multiple times in various other videos. Certainly, that's not going to stop me from showing off the tones here, though; especially considering this is a rarer variant.
For a general notification device, you would be surprised to know that this produces fire related tones as well. The Horn, Hi (2400HZ), and Chime tones all have a temporal version. Something that I would not expect for a general notification device, but still interesting at the very least.
As such, this can produce the following tones:
    -Temporal Horn
    -Continuous Horn
    -Temporal Hi (2400hz)
    -Continuous Hi (2400hz)
    -Temporal Chime
    -Continuous Chime
    -Whoop
Despite all that, it's a VERY different experience considering this thing is blue. With that said, enjoy!
    DISCLAIMER:
1: Although this is a general notification device, I use a pull station to activate it. It is a FELONY to pull a fire alarm in public to falsely report a fire (i.e. "Just for fun"). A fire alarm in a public building should only be pulled if there is actually a fire or other emergency. However, this is being activated in a controlled and legal environment, an enthusiast's test setup. No fire departments were called when activating the alarm.
2: This video contains flashing lights from a strobe. Those prone to seizures from flashing lights SHOULD NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO.
I AM NOT responsible for any legal damages done for pulling a false alarm, or for any seizures. These are your decisions, not mine!

At the Lowe's I go to, there's always a blue Gentex Commander Three above the emergency exits.

Both the Costco and Safeway near me have I think Federal Signal horn strobes (they’re white with a green strobe at the bottom, like a tinier TrueAlert.)

As some advice, maybe for your 600th video, maybe you could do a special, a celebration video, or a video where you set all of your fire alarms off like you did for New Years. I also suggest you do a Fourth of July special or something like that.

    • @NewEnglandElevators
      @NewEnglandElevators  8 лет назад

Setting it up once a year is enough...it's quite a pain to set up, actually (and I would rather keep it to new years). Never realized I was near 600...thanks!

Just to clear things up, too, A 4th special I MAY consider. It may be something as simple as uploading an elevator video that day, or a short alarm video. I don't plan on doing anything too big...

They have those blue models as Emergency exit door alarms at the Lowe's here in Monroe. They also are set on the "Whoop" tone. Sorry to say this but, Holy crap, those things are loud, honestly.

The chime is pretty nice, it's not loud on Low volume, and it's nice that a device like this. Not many multi-tone devices have a chime tone.

Simple, just hid the wires behind the device, and down the crack between the desk and the wall...whoops, sorry for ruining the magic. 😉
