Shields need to take her her time. That fight should be like 3 or 4 years away for her MMA careers sake. Dana White will try and rush it because he knows Nunes would win asap. But the more experience Shields gets the more ready she'll be and Nunes and Dana don't won't that. Shields manager needs to keep her focus and tell her its a slow grind. she has to climb the ranks of PFL and then come in UFC and take out lower tiers before she even gets to Nunes and plus she has to win in order to do all of that.

I'm so glad to see Amanda recognize that she is an MMA fighter not a boxer. Fighting Clarissa Shields in a boxing ring would be too limiting for an MMA fighter. The MMA fighter couldn't use their foot stomps, their kicks, their knees, their hammeer blows, sudo chops, elbows or their grappling. This would take away 7/8 of what the MMA fighter trains for in the gym. Further fighting under boxing rules would give the boxer a clear advantage. I believe Connor McGreggor only did it for the $100,000,000 he earned for the fight.

I think a boxer who can learn to stop take downs will do very well in mma. Because most boxers know what a mma fight is going for and that's the take down. Because and stand up even kicking is playing in the game of a boxer
The thing is people underestimate how long it takes to be solid on the ground like some of these girls been grappling as long as shes been boxing , now it's not impossible to be solid in on a ground quick but you have to have a high IQ and be very athletic for that, then boxers underestimate the kicking game, and the distance mma is fought at at, and its different without a big glove that can be used for defense 1 punch it's over

Love both sports! Practicality is a common thing I see debated. In a 1 on 1 obviously understanding ground game is important and if one is experienced in it then they’ll beat a striker with ease. However in a 2 on 1 or even a nightmare 3 on 1 striking is very important and I would prefer to have that since you’ve got at least a shot at victory assuming you can drop em with one shot. Whereas grappling against multiple attackers will get you stomped. Hell even if it was a 1 on 1 but the opponent had a knife striking is preferable a well placed shot could save your life a takedown would prolly get you stabbed. So in the end knowing both is best.

I love watching Amanda Nunes in her fights, and I respect that she's bringing Nina with her to interviews, but I wish that Nina wouldn't interject her opinion in an interview as much unless she's addressed by the interviewer or Amanda herself. Those of us listening are listening for Amanda's views, as she's the one fighting and who's being called out. It's unfortunate that she's being largely talked over and her voice is being overshadowed, when she's the expert and defending champion of 2 weight classes. No disrespect towards Nina. I do not know her as a person. But we came here for Amanda and to hear Amanda's views.
