Hey Roommates-great videos! So glad I subscribed! And I love this series. I am a family law attorney who has handled high asset/high net worth divorces in Atlanta for almost 20 years. I have seen so much in terms of relationships between men and women. I would welcome the opportunity to be interviewed in this series if you would like a divorce attorney’s perspective. Thanks so much, and again-great videos!!

I have heard so many negative things about Candace Owens on Social Media, while I don't take propaganda seriously, I think the overflow of the negativity that I have heard has caused me to have some reservations about her. Thank you so much for this conversation. Much appreciated!

I agree. She holds the black community accountable. She does not accept the black-victim narrative as a reason for mediocrity. The fact that she holds a mirror up to the faces of black people, and does not make excuses for certain behaviors, they attempt to assassinate her character as a way to disregard or belittle her perspectives, even when most of her points on the black community are accurate. Like you, I don’t agree with all of her view points. But, I will listen with an open heart and mind. And I wish others would do the same, instead of allowing social media to frame their perception of someone without doing their own research. This group-think mentality that has exacerbated in the social media era is so dangerous.

There is nothing to respect about her bc she doesn’t actually believe the shit she’s spewing. I get it, she can talk fast and she can pronounce her words clearly which may fool some of you into believing she actually saying something intelligent. But it’s a reason why black ppl criticize her and pro trumpers whites like her. It’s blatant as day, she saying everything that white men wants to say but can’t bc they would be labeled as racists but if they can use a black face to spew the same bs then they hopefully trick some gullible blacks to believe their racism is right and what we stand for is wrong.

People who don’t participate are often not accepted as part of the culture. This is why it takes a lot to raise kids in America to become a better citizen.

It’s a different HISTORY than non FBA’s who more often than not did not love in white majority societies. Black people in America in the 20th century were funneled into jails for the most minute reasons, and a culture developed of “F the white man and his system”. The jailhouse was the ultimate symbol of this system, and the targeting of black Americans it for many blacks was just a matter of time before you got snatched up in jail. You were expected by the community to take it like a G, and that culture has developed with further context post civil rights movement

I didn't know anything about Candace Owens, so I have no preconceived notions about her. But I agree with everything she said in regards to the breakdown of the Black family. Unwed mother-led households is the worst thing that has happened to the Black community. I watched the interview with AMS and cringed when he said he didn't need to be married to be a good father. That is not true. Children need to see examples of well-adjusted married couples.

    • @HarrisPilton789
      @HarrisPilton789 3 года назад +21

I disagree with her views on Charter Schools. Charter Schools in and of themselves is not a solution for the Black community. It's easy for Charter Schools to show positive trends in student achievement, because they don't have to educate every child. They have the right to refuse students that have serious issues, like behavioral problems. Public schools don't have that luxury. They have to teach the children that are enrolled. Parents have to take their children's education more seriously, at home. Learning doesn't just happen in the classroom. Much of what I learned as a child took place at home when I was doing outside reading, which was required by my parents.

True. The red pill nonsense is brainwashing men into keeping up with single parent homes. They sleep around and never marry. ......but don't want a vasectomy or to wear condoms . Recipe for disaster. Its like shooting yourself in the foot. The most balanced children come from 2 parent households. Dont tell men to fuck around and raise kids alone 🥴 further perpetuating the narrative stupid.

@Saint Paul the First Hermit Hermit, I agree. Although I believe marriage is better than cohabitation. Both produce the same outcomes as far as providing stability for the children. I see that as being true justice because all sides are equal. I believe that police officers who plant drugs, harass citizens regardless of race deserves to get the same equal treatment as any other citizen and then fined. I don't believe in defunding the police however I do believe that all police officers need to be recorded with body cams which projects their badge number and treat inner cities no different than they would suburban areas. I believe that all schools should be treated as a private school and children learn from a early age about the fundamentals of computer science and technology, everything should be more so based on technology especially now that would give them an edge up in that particular job field. I feel that high schools students should only learn most of what they are great at or want to be, of course math is needed but if any of them are gearing more towards becoming a business major than accounting math mixed with business management is much more a trade to prepare for. They key is consistency, they have to want to go to learn, if any child is seen on the streets and not in school without an explanation and keeps on doing that they should have a gps band around their foot so the school board would see if their trying to skip school and if so parents should be fined, too many tax dollars are going to all these schools without most of our children learning less or being less interested to learn, I say tern books into digital games in high school if they want to learn that way not heavy books, place all books on one machine and group them up in teams like if it's a nba competition on social media to want to learn more and win a free scholarship prize. I believe in natural gas, heating, natural energy from power plants, cars, etc. most of our taxes should be going towards helping the Earth and planting more natural resources, selling more natural resources.

Bre Bre well from growing up in an African one here’s what I can tell u. My grandparents back home in Kenya are very old school and are about Women serving their husbands. And my dad kinda sorta had that mentality passed down to him. My parents got divorced but my grandparents would always tell my mom to say with my dad despite the way he treated her. (Their all about keeping a perfect family even if the husband treats the wife terribly) My mom is strict when it comes to grades. Since my parents weren’t born in America they obviously didn’t grow up on American music, culture, trends etc. And thankfully my mom is super sweet. But in some Kenyan households parents are very harsh. My mom knew english when she moved here back in 2001 but some people might not and have to learn while living here. Another thing is that I grew up with immigrant parents and that was hard. My mom wasn’t able to apply for her green card until 2016 it was really complicated. Ive never really been in a Black American household but I doubt their the same as non American black ones.

You're so right. I'm a white female who's mother turned to feminism when I was about seven and I grew up in the aftermath. I saw firsthand how destructive the victim narration is to the individual and to families. How pitting women against men is damaging to everyone involved. It took me years to undo the brainwashing and to finally break free. My family managed to purge the pollution from our home, but I've seen too many friends and relatives fall into the trap.
The insane thing is that feminist theory is so ingrained in our culture that even people who have no interest in feminism end up with feminist ideas in their heads. This crap is taught to girls and boys right out of the cradle and demonstrated to them in every aspect of media and that has poisoned our entire society.

Once the rest of the family got on her case, and told her to stop sending him money, he went back to college, got a job, held it, and has done much better. As a non-Black person who is not even American, I feel like these kinds of conversations are very much needed. The black community is not a monolith. It consists of all sorts of people who often believe very different things. The only way things will move forward for the community is when you begin to describe things as pro-Black and anti-Black, regardless of who does it and what party they are from. And make both Parties work for your votes. Right now, the Democrats take your votes for granted because they think that whatever happens, you will not abandon them. So they take your votes and don't give you what you want for the betterment of your community in return. If they smell danger, if you became a voting block that values their votes and fights for your interests, then you will get what you want. For example, given the economic conditions of Black people in the US, unlimited, unskilled immigration from poor countries can be devastating for poor Black people's economic condition. So if you're truly pro-Black, you should oppose the Democratic Party's current narrative about immigration. Not because you hate immigrants and want to see them suffer, but because you should care about your own community's interests first

Owning a property in the hood where most democrats are voted in was not beneficial for my household. Crimes was extremely high in my neighborhood, police was barely there and they barely come when you call them. Now since Trump been in office, my neighborhood is getting cleaned up. They are currently tearing down the project housing, new businesses that I see mostly in white neighborhoods are finally being built in mine. I guess gentrification have finally arrived and I am excited. My taxes are going up and I happily pay it. Safer neighborhoods a d better school is what i want to see for my neighborhood. Currently my children all attend a magnet school 45 minutes away with traffic and there are 5 schools in a 1 mile radius of my house! I can't even bring my kids to a school thats walking distance. And it needs to be addressed. A lot of it could obviously be external things that have been done to Black people, but I agree that a lot of the faults could lie within the Black community as well. As a mixed black from Brazil, I completely identify with what she said about the "black identity". US politicians and media in general have this very restricting box they want to put black people in. Gotta vote a certain way, gotta listen to certain music, speak a certain way etc. They forget there are black people all over the world, from all kinds of cultures and backgrounds, there is no "black culture", that is a ridiculous concept. I like metal, classic music, folk, rap (Brazilian and foreign). English is my second language. I refuse to be put in a box, black Americans should refuse it too.

2 conscious - I agree that there is the black American culture. Many of my heroes are from that culture including Coltrane, Ellington, Booker T Washington, and MLK of course. What the gentleman is simply saying is that many pols like to put brown folks in boxes thinking that they are monolithic voting block. Like they all think the same.

@2conscious Black people have a culture and a history everywhere, in the US, Brazil, France, Portugal... you name it. Black people have been everywhere, an will always have a place in history according to the time and place.
But there isn't one black culture. I come from Brazil and I am black, but that doesn't define me. The people around me and the place I lived in as well as the time I was born define me much more than my skin color.
What I was speaking about was the fact that people will expect me to enjoy or understand about elements considered "black", and if I don't, they will shame me. That is wrong, narrow minded, and actually hurt black individuals.

But what about Trumps tremendous pandering to some of the most destructive groups in America. Even Lindsay graham , a staunch bootlicker on trump, has admitted on camera that Trump panders to racists. But she won’t address that because it doesn’t fit in with the narrative of pandering to the conservative market. The interviewer is open minded, which is great, but she is not.
