      The "double-puff" actually allows you to see the pressure-wave that occurs when the exhaust valve opens (travels about the speed of sound or 1125 ft/sec) and the flowing exhaust gases which travel at around 350 ft/sec. Nice!

    "A Neighborhood is left in pieces after man tried to run a lawn mower engine on pure nitroglycerine. This was uncovered after the live feed of his video was discovered. in the video, the following can be heard: "Over 100 000 people suggested it in my comments so now we HAVE to try it, I have 10 gallons of pure Nitroglycerine here, let me just pull the co.." A small crater was found where his garage used to be, also, there was no traces of carbon build up on the remains of the lawn mower"

    • @SantaClaw
      @SantaClaw 6 лет назад +9

      Pure nitroglycerine can be set off with relatively little shock. Hitting it with a hammer is enough. Trying to start an engine with it would be more than enough to set it off.

      I wish I could remember the source. I thought it was an MSDS sheet from many years ago, but I could be wrong... I did some cross referencing (10ish years ago) and figured out that Seafoam was mostly Naphtha. I thought at the time the called it heavy petroleum distillates. Id be curious to see an engine run on Naphtha (vs Seafoam).
      I have since used Naphtha as a carb cleaner. I was told by a gentleman in the set design business that naphtha is very "hot" as in it can damage rubber or similar parts easily (it will melt urethane foam IIRC). As such its wise not to leave pure/high concentration Naphtha in your tank/lines for long. Fill>>>run it out>>>refill with just gas. I think I see improvement. YMMV. Thankyou for honest and comprehensive tests.
      edit: google SEAFOAM MSDS 2010; it has a better breakdown.
      it has CAS #'s to help identify the blend.

    I second the WD40 idea.
    Also have you considered moving the choke plate after the engine warms up to see if it causes more normal/stable running with some of these less volatile fuels? I wonder if they just need a large amount of choke to start up but once the engine warms they hit vapor point and run normally?
    Merry Christmas to you and your family. Keep up the good work!

      based on my experiences copper conducts best but wears out the fastest. Iridium can give you the finest tip though which seems to translate into a more consistent spark and better combustion. They also last longer. For perspective I chose bosch plugs for my japanese car over NGK solely on how fine of a tip they offered. Drives amazing. I'm not Bosch groupie or anything but in the spark plug department they delivered for me.

    What if you hooked up a pure oxygen tank to the air intake? How would that affect efficiency?

      It would likely melt the piston. You would have to change your fuel jet to one about 5 times richer to make up for the fact that air is only 20% O2. Also it would have to be a very large tank valve and regulator to flow that much O2.
      But on the bright side it would then be a 30 hp lawn mower

      its gonna go very lean very fast like, basically what dry nitrous oxide shot kits do

    • @davidsteinhour5562
      @davidsteinhour5562 2 года назад +1

      @@supboy666 Different than dry N20, because the energy it takes to rip the oxygen atoms off the nitrous molecule is what cools the intake charge even more than atomization of the nitrous fluid. Compressed O2 adds lots of combustion energy but not as much cooling.

      the metal in the engine would start combusting. You can make diamonds burn in a pure oxygen environment.

    You know... I wish other channels were this pure... like... they're always selling out and altering results just to make that extra dime, but all you ask for is viewer support to keep this channel going. You make even, well thought-out tests, and in return, you just want to be informed, and see other people informed, from what I'm seeing in your, sometimes goofy, yet informative videos.
    I really enjoy this channel, and seeing new videos on my dashboard from this channel always makes for an interesting video to have in the background, or foreground of what I'm working on. You've really helped me understand some products I've been questioning, and secured my choices on others.
    To sum that up, I really enjoy the channel, keep it up.

    This has got to be the most positive RUclips channel ever! Didn't see one negative or stupid comment. My question is did you try mowing a section of grass with the sea foam fuel? Does idling vs running the mower change the way it reacts as a fuel?

    • @ProjectFarm
      @ProjectFarm  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you very much for the positive comment. I wish the grass was still growing where I live but it's dormant. The engine lacked power and wouldn't have ran very well. Great question regarding idling vs running higher RPMs.

      MrTheHillfolk yes I know the shop your talking about, people will travel thousands of miles to get the work done there. I only have a turbo back mbrp exhaust, never had a tuner on it. Only use motorcraft powerstroke diesel oil, and regularly use some kind of fuel treatment, oh I also use rev-x in the oil. Probably why I've never had an injector issue. Regardless I still have to think the egr is near the end in its life, that's just really uncommon for that not to have gone yet...idk we'll see lol

    I was amazed at how well that the seafoam cleaned more carbon buildup even though you had used the wire brush it even removed more and after all that smoke it left no deposits or buildup absolutely amazing.
    This leaves me with the idea that running seafoam through the fuel system is really a great idea I was thoroughly IMPRESSED.

    During the summer of 2016 my old lawn mower started smoking bad. I've had it for at least ten years. I thought the motor was shot. I poured some Seafoam in. It ran the rest of the summer with no problems. I used it this last summer and added some more Seafoam. It might have many years left as long as I have Seafoam. I love this stuff.
