  • In this lesson we visit the village of Ironbridge. A place of historical importance, where a revolution took place that changed the world. This place is the home of the world's first iron bridge. Construction began in 1779 and the bridge was officially opened on New Year 's Day in 1781.

Thak you for "Learning English". You are not only a wonderful English teacher but also a good teacher of the history. I want to go to England now, especially "Hope Cove", "Lake Vyrnwy", and the latest lesson's place "Ironbridge". Great films!!

I was amazed by the beautiful views from your video lessons. You are a really great film maker. I wish you would make more lessons like this so we can learn more new words, new phrases, and more importantly we can imitate your British accent.
    Thank you so much.

I live there! It's a nice place to be. Shame that the gorge is slowly closing in, causing the bridge to bend in the middle. An interesting point about Thomas Pritchard. He design two fireplaces in the home of the Benthall's, Benthall hall, and his creations can be found at a library in Washington DC.
