I personally kept the original bracelet on my Panda, cause that WAS in fact one of the things that drew me in - the contrasting colours of darkened steel with the dial, the chronograph, the other metals etc and ofc - it matches my wardrobe perfectly too, so there is that. Having said it, I gotta say you got me curious on your choice to change the bracelet, would be interesting in fact to see your version next to a platinum Daytona as well!
If I’m ever lucky enough to get my hands on a platinum Daytona, I’ll definitely make a video about it. I think the Panda bracket is fine the way it is IMHO.
@@TheTimekeeper Sorry, I mixed them up in my writing - cause you referred to Rolex as the "Panda" here. But I hope my bracelet description was a giveaway that I was referring to Seiko, sorry to have made a salad of words there XD And hope you do get your hands on platinum Daytona. I had a brief experience handling it for a bit back in 2013, and while it certainly is very heavy, it looks really stunning.
Initially I wanted to remove the original bracelet of the speedtimer when I first got it but over time it felt pretty good on my wrist. Although I agree why some people wouldnt like the contrast between the case and the bracelet itself. Got it for 409 USD from a japanese dealer and I think for that design and build its quite fair. Over time I am looking for other bracelets out there but I find the strapcode steel ones a little steep (almost 1/3 of the watch) but does look very solid
Been trying to find a video of a panda vs ghost (WG grey dial oyster flex) daytona comparison and this is the closest I could find haha. Good video man.
I have Seiko's, and I've learned that i dont like the date window anywhere else but at 6 o'clock or 3 o'clock. The interruption to the dial is what throws me off on this speed timer.
I kind of agree although the date window is so small it’s hard to even notice. I wish they would have left it out but it was probably embedded in the movement.
I wish it were a little bigger. I have a 21+ cm wrist. 39mm looks really small on me. I bought a Breitling 46mm Navitimer just because it looked a whole lot better on me than the 41 or 43mm ones, despite liking the ice blue dial on the 43 a lot better. I tried them all at my AD, and the 46 was definitely the right choice.
The Rolex Daytona is accurate to - 15 to +25 seconds a DAY. The quartz Speedtimer is accurate to -15 +25 seconds a MONTH. Seiko produced an automatic chronograph in the 1960s - Rolex in the 1980s. The Speedtimer pays homage to Seiko’s earlier achievements - nothing to do with Rolex.
You absolutely can. In the end, Rolex is just a status symbol and name. People get too hung up on the Seiko price tag but in reality, they are just as good and offer more variety. My cheaper seikos, orient, tissots and grand seikos get more wrist time than my rolexs and far more compliments.

@@COZY__BOY I guess the way I saw it was that I paid less than MSRP for the watch and the new bracelet so I felt it was a pretty good deal.

Just an fyi the seiko doesnt have ceramic on the bezel its black coated (pvd i think) stainless steel
I have the Seiko prospex speedtimer 41.4 mm "Crystal Trophy". What strap code bracelet will fit this watch??
I’m not sure. It’s substantially bigger so my guess is it would not.

Does the seiko really look this dark? Is this a lighting issue?
This watch is sooooo nice! I'll probably add it to my collection, but I'm really waiting for the Seiko Prospex Speedtimer Solar Chronograph SSC813P1!
It looks like the normal panda version but without fauxtina hands?
@@TheTimekeeper I think the 813 and 813P1 are the same... I just can't get either over here in the UK :(

You should play baseball!
I'd take the panda version of speed timer over that Rolex to be honest.
I'll take the Seiko and keep buying more Apple stock
That’s good advice for sure.
Great video. You’re a boss in your home theatre.
Thanks! I love that thing.
side by side that Seiko straight up towers the Rolex.
It’s a really nice watch for the money!

I am getting this seiko but in prefer PCL on the replacement bracelet - any recommendations? Thank you
You can with the Strapcode jubilee. www.strapcode.com/collections/watch-bands-for-seiko-speedtimer/products/strapcode-watch-bands-metal-ss-bcl20-b153
@@TheTimekeeper thank you - any way to get a clasp with PCL also?
@@HamishCarpenter Unfortunately I don't know of any with PCL clasps.
@@TheTimekeeper What is PCL?
I’ve got Seiko speed timer
the ssc has steel bezel, not cheramic
Yup. Messed that up.
the seiko is nice!
Ceramic bezel on the Seiko ? I don't think so...
Other than knowing it's ceramic, what's it matter?
I'll take the Seiko for $700 and keep the $14k in my POCKET!
Try 6 figures
One is an icon, Seiko is not. I'm normal, I've got a Daytona. Didn't finance. Never finance a watch. Ever.
If you cant afford one my frined your simply not doing enough. But this is probably seikos best watch for sure
U can not compare a Rolex to a sekio bro!!!!
Many would argue to the contrary but I did say that the Rolex could not be replaced in the video.
Yeah, it's rather an insult lol
Your right, the Rolex is not as accurate, and is mainly a way for men to blow money on jewelry!
