WOW! What an amazing video! Fantastic views! So glad the clouds cleared for you - especially after the effort to get there! Thanks for sharing this amazing location.
Stunning 🤩 as the fog and clag cleared (special moment 🤠🙏🏼) Fabulous Vlog guy’s and great effort on a fantastic hike 👏 Kitti Jon thanks again Simon 🤠🙏🏼
Loved your video! I will be doing the salkantay trek in August. We will be acclimating in Cusco for 4 days prior to the trek. I am worried about level of fitness required to do the actual trek! I can hike 20 km on flat ground, but not sure what type of prep work I need to do to be able to manage the trek!
If you can hike that far then we think you’ll be fine! Definitely do a few mountain walks if you can beforehand so you get used to hiking on elevation but otherwise there’s not much extra prep you can do. Worst case you can hire a mule to take you up the difficult pass on the 2nd day. Have fun! 😊
I’ve watched and thoroughly enjoyed your videos on Cusco, the Sacred Valley and the Salkantay trek - all of which I long to do before I die! My question is, did you have any issues with food poisoning, and what precautions did you take to avoid it? I’ve heard the water isn’t safe and you should only eat piping hot food
Thank you! 😊 we hope you get the chance to do them! No we never had any issues with food poisoning. We ate at many restaurants and cooked for ourselves quite a lot too. You definitely don’t want to drink the water (or if you do make sure to boil it for like 5 minutes first - we did that many times for our coffee in the morning). We are vegetarian so didn’t eat any meat though.
Thanks for watching! We didn't have any signal at any of the camps and as far as we can remember there wasn't any internet options either - but we may be wrong. We didn't use any until we got to the hotel in Aguas Calientes. We were so tired from each day of trekking we were usually asleep by like 8:30/9PM anyway!
We paid a higher price (like $450pp) to stay in all the cool accommodations but you can do the Salkantay trek for a much lower price if you shop around 👍 thanks for watching! 😊
Nice video. Which circuit did you take in Machu picchu? Which time slot did you enter? What was the luggage space like in the bus from Ollantaytambo to Cusco? Is the luggage placed at the back of the bus?
Thank you 😊 we did Circuit 2 at Machu Picchu and we had the earliest entry possible…although that doesn’t necessarily mean you will see anything straight away because of the fog! We were part of a tour group so the bus was a private one with plenty of space for our stuff. Think it was a mix of in the back and on top of the bus for our luggage 😊
I'm sorry, I haven't seen every video of the Peru series, so maybe I have missed the discussion of the topic, but is it safe to go to Peru these days with their current political situation ?
Peru is absolutely fine and safe to travel to now with regards to the political situation 👍 it is a beautiful country that shouldn’t be missed 😊 hope you can go! 🤞
We thought about it but we decided we’d probably be absolutely exhausted after the 4 days of the Salkantay Trek…and we definitely were! 😅 we were just so happy that the fog cleared and we got to see this beautiful place 🙏
I got goosebumps at the 9 minutes mark. Wow just wow!
Yeah that view was honestly incredible!! 😍😍
