  • If you are in the market for storage for your tools the Home Depot has Dewalt Toughsystem for $178 and $181 with full storage trays. Dont know if it is a glitch or sale. It is just a great price. Get them before they realize it. If you buy them separate they are $280.27 before tax.

Can you use the black half trays in the small box?

yes. i used foam inside the black trays so stuff stopped falling over and rolling around in them though. Handy to keep small SS pump pressure cans for various lubes, cleaners and etc, flashlights, but eventually it made sense to just use another drop in yellow tray, because of the wasted space of center of where both blk trays met. Sold the trays for 5 a piece during garage sale. I didnt use that expensive foam either, just thick packaging foam which is MASSIVELY cheaper hahaha.

@REDPANDATACTICS Yeah I agree, the yellow trays are better.

So, I guess I need to clarify my comment below, as , it appears someone commented on my comment, then deleted it as I cannot find their reply. So, there are 2 DeWalt TS 2.0 packages that appear exactly the same but one is more expensive than the other.(actually there's 3) the first is DWST08165005010 priced at $178.00 at Home Depot and the other is DWST08165W00450 priced currently at $269.00. Both systems have the same dimensions, same hardware, same weight limit, same IP waterproof rating....so why the price difference? From my research I found the the higher price system is made with polyurethane. Why is this important? Why the price difference? Polyurethane is more durable than plastic, tougher, more puncture resistant than plastic, it is also "self healing" and chemical resistant. Polyurethane is also more expensive to produce than plastic. Here is a link as to why polyurethane is superior to plastic. psiurethanes.com/blog/why-polyurethane-is-superior-to-metal-plastic-and-rubber/#:~:text=Durability%20and%20Temperature%20Range%3A%20urethane,and%20environments%20without%20sacrificing%20performance. On the home depot store page, on the "tool storage system comparison chart" the DWST08165W00450 system used to be listed as "Material: Polyurethane" and the DWST08165005010 was and still is listed as plastic. Now, Everything is listed as "plastic" or "Resin". Now, here's another system that has the same exact specs and boxes for $249.00 at home depot...the DWST60437 here is a copy and paste of the description: "Auto-connect side latches allow single-hand operation, Made of dust- and water-resistant Polypropylene for long life, 2 large organizer cups with removable dividers for tool storage" Polypropylene is also tougher than plastic and is from a family of resins. In conclusion...the $178.00 version is plastic, thus the cheaper price. Hope this helps.

I think....this 2.0 system is priced lower because it's plastic. The higher priced 2.0 system ($298) is polyurethane. I own this plastic version.
