I love USAA and very grateful I inherited their insurance through my dad. They're amazingly nice anytime I need to call them and always work to take your side. I had an uninsured person t-bone when they ran a red light, months later I got a check from usaa because they fought him without me doing anything and reimbursed me my out of pocket expense.
I had the opposite experience. Tboned on my motorcycle, insurance covered all repairs at the small private shop I chose with no argument at all. Even the hidden things that weren’t in the initial assessment they added in no problem. Emailed copies of medical bills and they shot me a check. Literally the only problem I had is my health insurance said the town ambulance wasn’t in network, so they only negotiated it down from 900 to 600, but I still got a bill for the 300 difference a few months later.
As someone who works in personal injury, your comment on the General is spot on and hilarious. I tell all clients and everybody I know, if it says General, do NOT buy it!
Worth noting that Shaq only endorses services he personally uses, mostly ones that treated him well before knowing who he was. He endorses the general because it was the insurance he used before he was famous
Customer service is okay with the general I will give them that but me and my fiancé are switching soon they charge to much for liability on a 2009 Chevy impala $167 per month both of us have clean driving records no tickets nothing
I worked as a paralegal 35 years ago (damm I'm old) and Farmers was the insurance company I always hoped for if we had an uninsured motorist claim. The worst was AAA. The Farmers reps were professional and in my experience fair.
Had the same experience in person with a human at AAA. I think they were offering a $10 discount on vehicle servicing if you listened to their insurance spiel. After saying I had USAA, they just... stopped.
Yeah that was true a couple years ago. In the last couple years rates have doubled. I was paying more for two drivers, two cars excellent credit and driving record, than a 5 years ago with a driver under 25 and 3 cars ad a recent accident.
@@robertkelleher1850 That and their customer service has just gone downhill. Especially their banking side. The insurance side of the house isn't as bad yet, but it's headed there....
I used to be a third party admin for most of the companies you said and, by god I knew every time I saw The General pop up it was gonna be a wild ride of someone who probably wont get covered, but not for any of the reasons most people don't get covered.
Have progressive. Got into a rear car collison last november. Got ahold of a insurance claims associate quickly and got the whole ordeal resolved in around 2 months? Back of my car was a bit shifted from the collison but nothing major.
I have Allstate and got into a fender-bender a couple of years ago. They didn't nickel and dime me at all. I did have to wait two months for my car to be fixed because of supply chain issues, but that wasn't them.
As someone with USAA, I'm not sure if they deserve to make the list. They've jerked us around for two months on a small claim and cost us $300 in rental fees because they couldn't manage to communicate internally and get our rental extended. The entire reason we NEEDED the rental extended was because they were dragging their feet on the adjustment. This is in addition to the fact that they left my wife without a rental at all for the first week the car was in the shop. So far, this is the worst experience I've ever had with car insurance. The first time I had a claim it was perfect. In the 6-8 years since that's happened, their quality of service has seriously nose-dived. We're about to file a BBB complaint if we can't get that $300 back soon. My wife had to cancel medical appointments due to those charges.
I got T-boned by a red light-runner with USAA as their insurance while I had Progressive. Traffic cameras and witness proved that I was in the right. USAA refused to pay and said I was at fault. This was in December of 2020. I didn’t get paid until almost the middle of 2021. Every Progressive person I spoke with was SUPER sympathetic and reiterated that I did nothing wrong, and that the traffic camera showed they nearly hit a different car before they hit me. When I had to speak with USAA they gave me the run around about “well, we don’t have all the evidence we need from both sides, the damage to your car doesn’t look it it was all from this, blah blah blah” Awful people over there
@@Intrepid_Sloan To be fair, that's what will happen with any insurance agency in that case. Their job is to protect their side, not pay out claims to others.
@@evanshively1294yeah, that’s actually a very positive review of USAA. A USAA driver screwed up big time and USAA still defends them tooth and nail. That makes me glad USAA are on my side.
I work in anti money laundering. USAA's bank side caught a massive fine for failing to do really simple things a few years ago. If they want to cut corners in part of their business, they want to cut corners in all their business. I have no interest there.
Had progressive, got insured then a week later a hail storm totaled my car. They fought so hard to try to find a way out of paying but ended up paying for the car. Won’t be using them ever again
I bet a lot of them would try to do that though, they make money by you not using them, after a week with a totaled car they've made nothing off you and are gonna have to fork over thousands for a replacement. Obviously a good company will eat it and keep you in good faith to keep you around long term, but they can't do that for everyone or they'd go bankrupt.
@@No0ne._. for sure it just got ridiculous at a point cause they wanted proof from my work where I was during the storm and bank statements to prove that
@@jrellek yeah, it sucks but if I were in their shoes I'd want to be sure you didn't anticipate the storm to bring hail, grab their coverage, screw em out of money, then dip afterwards. I had Geico before I married my husband who's a soldier and uses USAA. I was in two relatively minor accidents and it was night and day dealing with them. I was unfortunately deemed at fault in the first one even though I'll go to my grave insisting that I wasn't and the one witness could not even see the accident from where he was. Geico acted like a plowed through a school bus. When I had the accident with USAA insurance I barely had to lift a finger. My car died in the middle of a freeway because a mechanic managed to screw up an oil change. USAA had me in a rental in less than a day, paid for the 3+ hour tow to a dealership, and got Firestone to pay for a whole new engine and reimburse everything USAA paid for like the tow, rental, diagnostic, etc.
I started driving (legally) at age 14 on my father's policy with State Farm. When I got my own car(s) I stayed with State Farm until age 71, including homeowners and umbrella policies. We had one bad year (2018) with my (grown adult) daughter who lived at home then having a couple of auto claims and an unexpected fire in the garage that resulted in a lot of smoke and water damage in the rest of the house. State Farm refused to renew the homeowners and umbrella policies and doubled the premium on my auto policy. I had 57 years of being a loyal customer with no chargeable accident between 1968 and 2018, except for one $700 claim in a parking lot in 2002. It didn't mean squat. My agent was good and she gave me a heads up a few months before the policy expirations that I wouldn't be renewed. I couldn't get insurance through AARP or USAA (eligible for both). I was almost out of time and worried about the bank calling my mortgage for not having insurance when I just walked in to a local Farmers office. They not only insured me for auto, homeowners, and umbrella policies, but lowered the premiums I had been paying. State Farm can kiss my grits!
I remember state farm let us go. My dad never had a claim for 10 years until 2 incidents. My car incident and my dad's car stereo got stolen same day. Never went back to them.
USAA, yeah we know that jingle too. I've had pretty good luck with Geico. The only issue I really had was the value of my 88 Jeep Cherokee is nowhere near the price people are selling them for. Which happens a lot. Geometros were worthless for a while, but we're selling for $10,000 because they got insane gas mileage
I was an insurance adjuster for both property damage and unity for 8 years. I can tell you this guy gives bad advice regularly. Learn how to read an insurance policy, understand your gaps in coverage if any, and be aware of the claims process BEFORE you need your insurance. This is the best advice.
Thats why you gather as much info as possible in an accident and the next person you should be calling is your lawyer and nobody else, NEVER give a recorded call to your insurance!
This is an interesting statement. Would you mind exposing expanding on your statement and experience to broaden my knowledge. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks
I have State Farm and they have always paid claims promptly and fairly. However, I am in TN. I believe other states have had problems with them in the past.
Yup, you can have an amazing agent but if you happen to get a jerk adjuster then you’re screwed. The agent can only do so much when the adjustor/claims department makes the final call.
State Farm took care of me so well and I’ve never had a problem with any of these, just make sure when you check all the boxes when customizing your insurance like glass and rental otherwise I’m not sure how they screw you
As a paint and body tech, USAA is the actual worst. The General is easier to deal with. Number one worst company to deal with: State Farm. We’re not allowed to give the vehicle to the customer until payment hits our bank account because they cancel the check and give it to the customer, thereby forcing us to get our money from the customer. Cars sit on the lot for an extra week to ensure we receive payment
I don’t know if it’s my phone reading my mind or what, but, I was refreshing my feed constantly until I saw your videos. The reason was because I just paid my car insurance and was thinking of switching. I knew you’ve talked about car Insurance before so thought I’d try. This video was the first one of your videos to come up…
I've had progressive since 2014, no issues. Someone backed into me a few years ago and totaled my Focus. The entire process was done, and I was paid, in less than a week. I talked to someone on the phone once, and the rest was done over text. Not really sure what you're talking about.
@justiron2999 the shorts guy is making sweeping declarations about insurance providers when, in reality, your experience will can vary wildly. Like I've actually had a good experience with Comcast, but I have a buddy who lives a few towns over who's had a terrible time.
Let’s be real. Insurance companies are a parasite that feast on the wallets of anyone who drives. Most people aren’t getting into accidents, yet they have to keep paying these people to NOT do anything for them. And should they ever be involved in a collision, they won’t try to lift a finger until they are forced to.
I would say it depends on prior rank with USAA. Officers were treated a lot better than enlisted in the 10-15 jobs I worked on with that insurance. American Family is a premium cost but will literally send the check the day the accident happened and any extra damage found during repair is no issue with a couple pictures emailed.
People dog on USAA a lot, but they really are great. Usaa is a little expensive by maybe $10-$20 a month. But I can say I've never had a problem with insurance.
Would like to know how he rates Nationwide since thats what I have. Haven't personally had a claim with them but my parents have and they seemed to not have issues
This profiteer's list is skewed. As an Army veteran, I can tell you from personal experience that you're probably better off with the Taliban than you are with USAA, and as an accident victim, I can tell you from personal experience that Allstate went all the way to bat for me against what seemed like the whole damn world even though I only had liability coverage at the time.
Was with USAA since 2004 until earlier this year. It was my only insurance from 18 to 37 and I have nothing good to say about them. The third party roadside they started using is absolutely horrible. The bank accounts are free so I still have them but started using other ones years ago because they never had my back and when it came time to start building credit they wouldn't even give me a $200 secured card but Capital One did and I went up like 400 points in 3 years. I should have been using credit cards and a local insurance agent and credit union over 20 years ago.
I’m an Army veteran and don’t listen to this guy, USAA is absolutely great. They covered my accident despite my premiums accidentally going unpaid for two months and my plan lapsing. They had every legal right to deny my claim (which was over $20,000 and my fault) but they didn’t, all I had to do was pay the two months I owed and they took care of everything. But don’t take my word, the guy at the body shop was so happy when I told him I had USAA. “Everybody else tries to make us use non-OEM parts or claims repairs are necessary, but USAA just pays the invoice, no questions asked.” Plus, they’re actually less expensive than the “discount” insurance companies.
I’m an army vet and I have nothing but good things to say about USAA. Been with them for 25 yrs at this point. I have auto and home through them. I had life insurance with them for a while, then changed jobs to one that had an employee plan.
USAA is awful… Trust me I’ve been dealing with them for a house claim right now for water damage and it somehow cost $28,000 to remove the first floor yet. They are only willing to cover $22,000 worth of repairs… How in the hell does demolition cost more than repairs and buying new cabinets and appliances, they also third-party everything out now for housing claims using beacon… And beacon construction is the same people that have the contract for on base housing… And as you might know, there is a big hoopla about how horrible the renovations have been going at base housing across DOD wide… USAA sucks now there awful
None of this matters as long as you have a dashcam. Cutrate insurance becomes top tier if you have actual video proof you weren’t at fault. I just went through this with progressive. I would’ve been liable for a lot of damage because it was the front of my car vs the back of the other person. But dashcam showed them running a red and me going the speed limit, so I’m off the hook.
I learned in criminal justice that the general insurance is just a legal loophole insurance company. Meaning that if you get your license revoked for not having insurance, you can buy a 1 week plan to get it back, cancel it and drive without insurance until you get pulled over again
Not USAA! My father paid USAA premiums for 50 years and then when he made a third claim they not only denied it, they cancelled his insurance! I dropped them and never would go back.
I have Lemonade (formerly Metromile) because I don't drive much. They charge a few cents per mile so are the lowest rate. Anyone have any interaction with them?
I always say, you always know how good accompany is by how they treat their employees and how long the employees stay with the company. I’ve been with Travelers for 17 years and love it. There’s so many more people here that have been here for 20+ years as wellbecause of the way they treat us as employees. They’re one of only a few companies I would ever trust.
I have State farm, I got into a very minor accident. I could have fixed the car for $1,000 myself including buying tools. But they decided to total it, and the car was relatively new
I've dealt with USAA several times, working for the claimant. They have been outrageously difficult to deal with on every occasion. Of course, that's a very small sample size and all in the Sacramento area.
I've always suspected that was the case. My thinking is that if they're spending that much money on advertising, something else is getting the short end of the budget. It might be bad prices, it might be bad service, it might be that they don't pay all the claims that they should. This goes for all types of companies, from heating and cooling to roofing to windows to insurance to banking. You'll generally always have a better experience with a company that doesn't have a disproportionate advertising budget.
I'm paying like 200 something a month for 4 vehicles and a fifth wheel trailer with state farm. I think that's a decent price considering my fifth wheel and my 1 ton pickup are financed. I also had a 97 Ford OBS that was stolen and they paid me market value which was $12,000 for it. I only bought her for $5,500 about a year ago.
I have usaa and they are great, I had a small accident on clear ice and my bumper was damaged after a few day they fully pay everything and my rates stay the same, even lower a bit after a year and 1/2 later.
State Farm is hit or miss I've found out. My mom was on State Farm after Allstate dropped her family after my mom got in 2 accidents when she was in highschool (Neither were her fault btw). She then swapped to State Farm and stuck with them for years because of our agent who was quite involved with out family. He went to my grandmother's funeral and later helped us afford new siding and roofing on out old house. We swapped to shelter after he passed since State Farm was becoming State Farm. Long story short: It 100% depends on agents, and the bad cut throat agents tend to go to the same companies.
I had state farm and a sheriff employee had it too; she ran a stop sign and broke my neck, back and gave me nerve damage. I am unable to work and my life is over. Somehow attorneys spread a rumor to mine saying I was taking about my case which I wasn't and he dropped me, then they called me and extorted me into hiring them ( 2 weeks to trial and it took months to find my attorney and this was after 10 years ) and they ran it into the ground. The judge didn't care ( the extortionists said they were friends with the judge and would have him drop my case ). The SC BAR didn't care. There is no justice in America.
I was on a highway going 55 MPH, and I had a guy cut me off to do a complete stop to make an illegal U turn. I couldn't stop or turn in time, and I rear ended them. They got the ticket, tried to fight it in court, and the judge let them have it for driving recklessly. They had Farmers Insurance. Farmers refused my claim because I rear ended their client... it didn't matter what the police said. I'm insured through USAA... it was cheaper and easier to make a claim on my policy rather than going after the other driver.
USAA is for military members, their spouses, and children. My brother has had USAA since 2007. He runs all of his vehicle and property insurance through them. Nobody can beat their rates for equivalent coverage.
State Farm dropped me from homeowners because I made two claims in one year. Neither one was I at fault, and both were relatively small. Insurance companies get real upset when you use your insurance that you pay for.
Tbf any insurance in this country is gonna find a way to pay the least amount of money and the best way to screw you over, its what insurance does best
I got hit head on while leaving work and had no issues with Geico. They came out to assess the damage quickly (I live an 2 hours from the closest city). They processed the claim, got me a rental (covered for the upcharge because enterprise was out of the normally covered price) for two months while my car was being fixed. I think it's often what agent you have that makes it negative or positive.
I had good experience with Geico. Even without a physical office they reimbursed vehicle cost, payed for my lawyer when I got sued, fast, efficient and effective. They were polite and didn’t give me hard time what so ever. I really wanted to sue state for the accident bc the traffic signs on the interception that resulted in accident were inadequate and were the cause. But for that to happened I had to die to make a case 🤦♀️
State Farm paid over 13k for hail damage no questions asked. We did a video call to show the vehicle we told her that damage was already there. A car wash tore some trim off the lady said o so a tree hit it. She marked that for repair as well.
If I could get USAA I would, but Ive never been in the military, and my closest relative that did is my uncle. Have State Farm, and only ever dealt with minor accidents and hailstorms. They paid out pretty quick for hailstorms, it was a dumb but functional process for windshield damage, and the other accidents weren't my fault so it was always the other company that paid out in those cases. In my experience with them... The Hartford was really great to me when one of their people bumped my car while it was parked.
I'd say your state and agent can make a huge difference insurance. Some states State Farm is really good with great rates. Some states SF is stupid expensive and horrible customer service. Where I live State Farm is one higher tier insurance companies.
With insurance your mileage may vary. In general I'd rank the national carriers in the middle, big regional carriers in the top, and non-standard carriers (naturally) in the bottom. That doesn't mean you can't have a good claims experience, but it often means that if something is going wrong you have more options to fix it.
@@wturner777It’s because everyone else around you that drives like they’re blind is making your rates go up, also people moving to your state from more accident prone states.
@@Adhd069 And it’s not fair for good drivers to pay for something else’s faults, but that’s how they roll. Which is why we need better public transit to once again top other developed countries.
I was in an at fault accident, and Progressive paid for my totaled car and didn't raise my rates or cancel no hassle or problems settled the claim within 3 weeks
My USAA insurance is cheaper than most, but even if it was more expensive I’d still keep it. I was in an accident that was my fault, I talked to an agent once about it and they paid out the other person no issue. The agent called me back a few days later to check in on me because I had a moderate concussion, nothing else except to tell me that they had taken care of it already and just to focus on getting better.

Love the content! In the medical field but love learning about other industries
What Liberty Mutual? They have a jingle but I didn’t see it on the list, so I guess I’m answering my own question lol.
I don’t trust Emus so…
From what I've seen and from my experience, they're above the bottom 4 but not by much.
Plus, State Farm and USAA have well known jingles.
As a personal injury paralegal with nearly 20 years of experience, I agree with this 100%!
Several family members and I have USAA and they are great. Never had a single issue with auto or home insurance
They only take Miltary personnel.

Amica, I had good luck with them. Also, always near the top of Consumer's Reports list.
Have you escalated the claim to the CEO department?
@@evanshively1294yeah, that’s actually a very positive review of USAA. A USAA driver screwed up big time and USAA still defends them tooth and nail. That makes me glad USAA are on my side.
I work in anti money laundering. USAA's bank side caught a massive fine for failing to do really simple things a few years ago. If they want to cut corners in part of their business, they want to cut corners in all their business. I have no interest there.
I've been a proud USAA customer for almost 30 years. Yes, they are expensive, but the service and responsivness is truly awesome.
Not $1,500 a month awesome
Not worth the money lol
Switched to USAA years ago and have loved it ever since.
Thank you, for saying this in a video!! There is a reason their rate is so much cheaper than other carriers
These appeared in my feed right before i needed to buy car insurance
Progressive and Geico were great in my experience. Never had a problem and they covered all damage.
I have had to file a few claims recently with GEICO. Each time it was fast, more than I expected, and VERY friendly.
We have had Travelers for decades now. Love them.
I was an insurance adjuster for both property damage and unity for 8 years. I can tell you this guy gives bad advice regularly.
Learn how to read an insurance policy, understand your gaps in coverage if any, and be aware of the claims process BEFORE you need your insurance. This is the best advice.
Sir Mike The Epic Lawyer thank you for this insight
Thats why you gather as much info as possible in an accident and the next person you should be calling is your lawyer and nobody else, NEVER give a recorded call to your insurance!
This is an interesting statement. Would you mind exposing expanding on your statement and experience to broaden my knowledge. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks
Agreed! I've got USAA and the rates are pretty decent and I've never had issues with the couple claims I've had to make for car or home insurance
I have State Farm and they have always paid claims promptly and fairly. However, I am in TN. I believe other states have had problems with them in the past.
My mechanic recommended Geico and said to avoid farmers 🤷♂️ maybe it depends on the culture of the local adjusters?
I guess it depends on the person and case.
@justiron2999 well sure, that can be said about everything lol
@@LtColShingSides true but I've been seeing people have night and day cases in the chat with the same company lol.

I’ve always had Liberty Mutual and I don’t hear them get mentioned much or at all. How do we feel about liberty?
I would say it depends on prior rank with USAA. Officers were treated a lot better than enlisted in the 10-15 jobs I worked on with that insurance. American Family is a premium cost but will literally send the check the day the accident happened and any extra damage found during repair is no issue with a couple pictures emailed.
Thats a beautiful Vacheron Constantin Historiques!
It varies person to person like any insurance
“Everybody else tries to make us use non-OEM parts or claims repairs are necessary, but USAA just pays the invoice, no questions asked.”
Plus, they’re actually less expensive than the “discount” insurance companies.
I live in BC, we all have to get ICBC car insurance here, and honestly, it keeps prices reasonable and makes it easier to process everything
There's something so funny working with insurance companies as part of your careeer and still identifying The General as the one Shaq endorses lmao
None of this matters as long as you have a dashcam. Cutrate insurance becomes top tier if you have actual video proof you weren’t at fault. I just went through this with progressive. I would’ve been liable for a lot of damage because it was the front of my car vs the back of the other person. But dashcam showed them running a red and me going the speed limit, so I’m off the hook.
that's why I have one front and back on every car
I learned in criminal justice that the general insurance is just a legal loophole insurance company. Meaning that if you get your license revoked for not having insurance, you can buy a 1 week plan to get it back, cancel it and drive without insurance until you get pulled over again
Bruh this giy has so much money. That vc 222 is craaaazy and ive seen him wearing daytonas on oysterflex bracelets
Not USAA! My father paid USAA premiums for 50 years and then when he made a third claim they not only denied it, they cancelled his insurance! I dropped them and never would go back.
How many vehicles do you need to have or how long do you have to go without an accident to make the lawyer fees worth it for geico?
What are some of the better options then? I’m willing to pay more for a peace of mind
Been with USAA for 30 years. They are responsive and timely. Best banking and insurance experience I’ve ever had.
Any opinion on Erie?
I go through the General. Haven't had an accident, will probably switch to USAA once I get a decent car.
USAA has always been helpful and responsive the few times I’ve needed to use my car insurance.
I have Lemonade (formerly Metromile) because I don't drive much. They charge a few cents per mile so are the lowest rate. Anyone have any interaction with them?
What do you think of Farm Bureau?
I always say, you always know how good accompany is by how they treat their employees and how long the employees stay with the company. I’ve been with Travelers for 17 years and love it. There’s so many more people here that have been here for 20+ years as wellbecause of the way they treat us as employees. They’re one of only a few companies I would ever trust.
Where would you rate state insurance like blue sheild?
I have State farm, I got into a very minor accident. I could have fixed the car for $1,000 myself including buying tools. But they decided to total it, and the car was relatively new
🎵UUUUU S A A🎶
Hehehe
USAA saved my ass a long time ago. Love them.
The general pays lower rates to the shop in claims, plus a lot of times won't pay for paint blend, or inside of door jams
I have allstate for about 10 years and have multiple cliams. I've had zero issues, other than sometimes they take a little long.
USAA is a great insurer and they have amazing customer service, but you have to be a vet, family of a vet, or active duty to get them.
When I first started driving the general quoted me at like $900 a month lol.
State Farm covered my full replacement windshield from a pebble crack in full. No problem. On my Porsche. It was over $2000. No issue.
Vacheron 222. 😮
What an incredible watch, wish they’d do a steel reissue.
In south Africa if with my insurer, if your car is damaged and it isn't your fault you just pay a tiny bit of excess
I have geico for my motorcycle, and usaa for car. I just got a quote from usaa to compare for my motorcycle and it is through progressive.
USAA is for military members, their spouses, and children. My brother has had USAA since 2007. He runs all of his vehicle and property insurance through them. Nobody can beat their rates for equivalent coverage.
Great SHORT!!
State Farm dropped me from homeowners because I made two claims in one year. Neither one was I at fault, and both were relatively small. Insurance companies get real upset when you use your insurance that you pay for.
I strongly DISAGREE with USAA as a 26 year member. I had never had a single claim, and they treated me like a sociopath. I wish I were kidding.
Progressive paid out in a few days for me. Gave me $2k more than the car was worth, too.
Geico doesn’t deserve being in that category
But they keep raising rates for no apparent reason, despite being a good driver.
How is AAA from your perspective, because that is what I have.
