  • OK so this video was filmed over nine days ago, and I already feel like I've learned SO MUCH since then. I've been maxing out my starter and testing about one loaf a day, so looking back on this footage makes me lol. For something like this, practice is definitely key.
This video documents my first time testing out sourdough, so consider this video my Marvel origin story. I'm building out my experience and plan to share it in another video soon! So look out for more sourdough content, bc I'm a loaf queen now 🥰

love it! I feel like I always struggle with the timing of baking sourdough - like the days it takes to get the starter ready, then timing all the steps (though I work from home so what's my excuse really) sooo looking forward to seeing more from you!

Your loaf turned out beautiful!! I'm very interested to hear more about your testing of different versions and timings of the starters--I recently inherited some 50-year-old starter (!!!) but the maths/timings are really intimidating to me so I've just been feeding and discarding for weeks!

Thx for your basic *itches recipe for starter, I can’t wait to see the bread recipe you come up with. My starter is on day 5 & it smells amazing 😍

I started my sourdough starter 2 days ago, totally forgot to feed it after making it, but fed it tonight, and it's looking good! I'm excited to continue! My husband loves my homemade bread (yeasted) but sourdough is his favourite - and I've failed a few times with starters, so I'm jumping on the 2020 sourdough train 4 years late! LOL

A couple years ago I had a super old, fruity, healthy starter that also took me multiple tries to get right, but it died in the process of me packing and moving to a new city. Recently I started making a new starter but was so out of practice I also constantly neglected it, and it grew quicker and more sour than my first!

I went through that during the summer. It was a learning experience, but I can't be bothered to continue with it. haha

Came over from your site. I'm on day 3 but want to be ready.
When feeding 1x per week from the fridge, do you feed and put right back in the fridge?

Hey! I’m following this recipe and am on day five. My starter has a layer of clear liquid on top, is this normal and should I do anything about it?

how did you get that many bubbles right away??? I made one out of flour and water in April of 2020 but barely got any bubbles. i did not have enough yeast. How did you get the yeast?

Hi! I am curious if you had any issues with maturity? Other sourdough starter recipes I have seen caution against baking with a starter less than 2 weeks old (or even a month). I have been baking sourdough a lot this year but my starter recently went bad (live in a hot climate third world country 🙃). Giving this a shot to hopefully get back at it quickly!
