What a magnificent Car this was (and still is) And like a lot of you, I too miss the fabulous sound of these wonderful V10's.... One of the last real Racing Cars. Most things were still up to the Driver, including manual shifting. Not too many electronics yet! And no control of the Car from the pits..... Great!
You mean ... the driver had to DRIVE the car??? What a novel idea. Love that sound. If Bernie had a brain, not likely, he might actually think of going back to a car that used two arms/hands, and two legs/feet, oh, and a mandatory shift lever. Oh my ....
Craig Stevens Hi Craig, harboring such ideas might see you banned from F1 for Life!! You are a threat to the establishment Sir! You were not asked to speak words of sanity...!! Think of the commercial interests...! Ha, I SO agree with you.... Technology is good and necessary too, but it should only be applied with discrimination with an eye on safeguarding the purity and health of the Sport.... Heavens what am I saying?? I'll be banned too...!
Then I shall be in good company on the outside looking in. Maybe we are just old school. I should know better then to talk logic. Oh well, shoot me now and get it over with.
Craig Stevens Nah, I am not shooting you! I agree with you entirely..... I guess I am old school too! And it wasn't only Racing which was better. BTW, I think we are still safe! Ha.....
@@brainandforce Really good observation, yeah there is a bit of a whine when it is going slow for a second. Straight cut gears are more robust for racing.

Such an iconic car, judging by the harsh shifting and gear noise I'd say the oil needs changing.
The car likely uses straight-cut gears, which are far louder than a production car's helical gears
