"Born to be Wild" was recorded in 1968 on a Fender Esquire... played by then 17 year old guitarist Michael Monarch of Steppenwolf...
Sounds like a Telly. And everything sounds good on a Telly. 💯
I started playing as a kid back in the mid 60's. I took lessons from a polka King for a little while. I kicked around and had a diverse taste in music. I was really lucky. I got to play some of these amazing old instruments and I met some pretty cool cats. This is always a trip down memory lane. Norm is the G.O.A.T.
National Treasure...
Last one sounds like Van Halen playing life in the fast lane. Awesome!
Great tone and the color is very nice ! Jeff Beck played one while he was in The Yardbirds..maybe this very year !
Great guitar Michael!!.....Nice camera work.........Thanks for your videos
Righteous
Fantastic tone on that thing
1955 was a good year. Old as me and looks and sounds a hell of a lot better. 68 bro. Let's go. Crank it up.
Killed it
Esquire, Les Paul Junior, Firebird I -- all the guitars you'll ever need.
Yup
SG Jr. - the less polished, cheaper, cousin of the slab Esquire.
Oh yea - that’s a good one
Way to go Mike keep well in those oldies but goodies 🎸
Great playing! You’re the first person I’ve ever heard get usable sounds out of that “dark circuit”.
beauty
Incredible guitar. Thanks for featuring it.
Three great selections for that Esquire. Guitar sounded amazing. Great job Lemmo.
Recorded at 11 pm right? Jajajajajajja, beautiful!!!!!
West coast - 8:00 pm PT
That thing sounds incredible!
Epic tone!!!
On fire today!!!
Cool, clean and able. 😎♥
Beautiful playing.
Just amazing playing, This guitar is a beauty and sounds great
It's fun watching Lemmo play when he's in the zone. So cool.
awesome lemmo :)
I wish I could afford this beautiful 1955 model but a couple years ago I got a Squier Classic Vibe Esquire and it sounds and plays fantastic. There is something really cool and unique about the single pickup configuration--it makes you approach tone in a different way than having two pickups. Also the bridge setting is twangier than a standard Telecaster--I played the Esquire next to a CV Tele and could hear the difference. A friend who knows electronics told me that because there's only one pickup, the tone is more pure because none of it is being drawn away by the other pickup or something like that. Don't know if that's true but I believe it. Anyway, great demo playing as always.
Fine Tele !!
I’ll be your Huckleberry friend. How ‘bout Breakfast at Tiffany’s ? I had such a crush for Audrey Hepburn. wow
Dark circuit sounded pretty
What a fantastic player, kudos for showing the potential of these instruments in such a musically compelling manner!!!
Love the tone, love Big IZ, the Joe Walsh, but still no Hag or Waylon on a Tele! How's about some Mikey (Houser) at least from WSMFP? P.S. Harp had three tonight, go Phil's!
Michael Lemmo could make any guitar sound great..Kudos..!
❤👍🤘👏👏👏👏👏
Spicoli says..... "Uh huh, dude, that's totally gnarly!"
Obviously a moving guitar, but not the "sparkling country tone" I was expecting
Sorry for the amateur question. Is sound in neck position same as when I'm in bridge position and pull tone down to 0?🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊
Yes
@@BillyTalentguitar1 thank you for answer. in that case, I still don't understand what's the point of having that switch on the esquire when it just need to lower the tone to 0🤔
👍✌❤😎
What is that last riff he played?
Life in the fast lane by the Eagles i think
Whos the camera lady. What happened to jen
Joseph Michael "Joey" Kramer invite him
4.00 mins to hear what the actual guitar sounds like, before its plugged into distortion pedals and effects! Sorry! I just don't get it!. Want to hear what the guitar sounds like NOT a load a pedals in which case it could be any Tele/Esquire!!
That's bad a$$...Peace!
Great guitar shame about mentioning Joe
Shades of Tom Petty
