I bought a Squier Classic Vibe 50s Esquire a couple years ago and I love it. Super twangy sound. Maybe not as versatile as a Tele but the tone has more bite. And I love the chunky maple neck. Best of all it was only $400.
Well....I used to have a Squire, which was the 69 white stratocaster Jimi played on woodstock. I made it into an relic and bought the custom shop 69' pre-wired pickguard and the guitar was at another level, maybe better that alot of Fender stats I have played in at the local store, I sprayed a clear coat nitro cellulose lacre on the neck and on the body, which gave it a hard but silky smooth feel. Also , I used a bass guitar pickup cap and screwed it on the bridge covering the bidge, I had never seen anyone do that, but the result was stunning. changed the knobs with telecaster chorme knobs and screwed an extra string leader thingy on the headstock. The guitar was sold in a few days. The guy was aesthetic when he played it... absolutley stunning
Very interested in hearing the sound comparisons. That claim has been made for years but I don't think anyone has tested it. I have a Les Paul Jnr and there certainly is something special about it.
Nice Paul. I like it a lot. I like that color. I only like maple fretboards when they’re relic’d. Typically like rosewood. I love when you buy a new guitar. Enjoy it.
Lovely guitar, have you ever tried a Richie Kotzen tele, huge neck, massive sounding guitar and the tone control is a series/parallel switch, I think you would love them
Lovely sparkle to the ears and eyes! For the comparison, will you only mount but not wire in the neck pup and keep the squire electronics? (Less soldering too this way.)
Great video guys! Paul, I’m assuming you are going to use the conversion kit you showed for the upgrade. Do you think the new wiring harness is going to impact the tone of the bridge pickup when you do the comparisson? Have a great one fellas!
Some people actually played bassy chords on that front switch position, and then flip back to the back position. And The Babe DID start out as a pitcher for BOSTON. The Yankees stole him away from the Red Sox and that's why there is so much animosity between the two clubs, even unto this day. How 'bout that, Limies? SO. WHERE did you find this Esquire? Fender does not show anything like this on their site.
And...Babe Ruth actually WAS a pitcher! He was a pitcher before playing strictly outfield so he could hit every day. LOL... But great American Sports Reference!
You sent me a text once asking me to 'telegram you.' Never trust that stuff so I didn't respond. Might have missed a nice little treat there. Don't care that much though as I always learn something. Everyone has to have a Tele right? 😉 Oh, Babe Ruth WAS a famous batsman. Too many pub quizzes?
come on guys! i've played cricket my whole and still know he (babe ruth) actually started his career as a left-handed pitcher before he became the best batsman in the world. bruh!
Finally someone rocking out on the Esquire, Thank You!
In 1991, I sold my 1984 MIJ Esquire re-issue. I'm an idiot. I've regretted that ever since. Great video BTW! Best Regards and Best Wishes!
I sold a 1969 Gibson Les Paul black beauty decades ago. Still gives me sleepless nights.
Nice touch with the Ultimate (Rock Slippers)🎸🎸🎶
Love that neck tone ,honesty 😮
Sounds killer! Great demo as always guys. Hope all is well. Talk soon. Cheers!
Lovely looking guitar
The knarly guitar playin', box stompin' footwear says ROCK STAR all the way man! 🤘🎸😁 Always a good time in a Paul Drew video.

Absolutely awesome have a great weekend Paul ❤😊

Phil X would be a great guest to discuss single and duel pickup instruments.
Get the showbiz phone book out lads! 😂

Cheers Ron cool story! Btw this is an ESQUIRE not a Squire.
I love Les Paul Juniors - might have to get an Esquire one day!
Holy cow that sounds GREAT!

Babe Ruth was a pitcher... but he was also the MLB Home Run leader until Hank Aaron broke his record on April 8, 1974. :)
Not just a pitcher, a great pitcher. To anyone unaware, look up his stats. They are impressive.
@@markkeneson6806- absolutely agreed!!!

I agree 100%!! Who needs that neck pickup???
sounds great
"I bought this for this video." I'll remember that. 😂 Brilliant video, blokes. Thank you and all the best.
Cheers Brett

I’ve always wanted to try one.
Looks and sounds great…now I gather the tone is in the slippers right? 😉
Absolutely
Paul, where do you buy your guitars, Reverb? Direct from Fender?
EBay, reverb and Facebook
what is the setup for this incredible tone please ??
amp
pedals
other?

What pickup is in there?
Hell ya!

Esquires are Esquires and shouldn't be converted! The Tele neck pickup isn't worth ruining the OG.
Hi, very nice video! Which guitar did you sell for it, the Nik Huber? Cheers, Andreas

What pickup?
Nice shores
Sounded a bit fuzzy, I wonder why 🐇
What pickup does the esquire have? Ash body?
I wanna know that too!
ADD A PICK UP UNDER THE SCRATCH PLATE ,
SIMILAR TO BRAD PAISLEY,SIGNATURE ESQUIRE
Pickup?
You mean the Ultimate Guitar. I can live on the bridge pickup of a telecaster
MANLY SLIPPERS!
Yeah James needs to look at his footwear.
Gear of the year: your shoes!!! 😂😂😂😂
Yeah called the wife in with fluffy slippers
Sounds great as always, but Drew can make a sponge sound good, but you really must train on your intros..
Thanx for the vIdeo you RATS!😆

Never trust those scam messages. Cheers Winston.
8:42 Careful Bryan’s publishing will block. 😂
Humbuckers are a prerequisite for a ultimate rock guitar (in my opinion).
Also, those are some nice slippers.
come on guys!

bruh!
