- A wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow is falling in Charlotte, North Carolina, and snow is falling across the western Carolinas as the winter storm moved into the region early Sunday morning.
First Warn forecaster Larry Sprinkle said the freezing rain (rain that falls as a liquid and freezes on contact with the surface), sleet and snow are expected to last all day in the Charlotte metro with the mountains expected to see heavy snowfall throughout Sunday.
Winter Storm Warnings and Ice Storm Warnings are in effect Sunday because of hazardous conditions expected from a winter storm through Monday morning.
The Winter Storm Warning, which warns of impacts from ice, sleet and snow, includes Charlotte, Rock Hill, Monroe, Concord, Salisbury, Statesville, Gastonia, Shelby, Hickory, and Morganton. These areas are in the foothills and mountain regions of our viewing area.
The Ice Storm Warning includes locations such as Chester, Chesterfield, and Lancaster Counties in South Carolina and along the Piedmont region. #NCwx #SCwx #CLTwx #snOMG #WakeUpCLT

⛄️ FUN TIMES!!!
That’s not a lot of snow for Oregon. That’s normal for us. 🥳
I remember when Charlotte got a foot of snow about ten years ago in February. And Charlotte had snow about four years ago.
Tapping in from Boone NC
Hillsville VA, , I can still see my grass , but it's getting windy
@@AC-kk3vo now in Boone we have about 8-10 inches and it’s still snowing
I'm guessing around 6 inch here , but it definitely drifted from the wind so could be a foot and half in places
Use a frost blocker to put over your windshield they work great! Use them a lot in Montana
In NYC when we get heavy heavy snow the Department of Sanitation and the City hires hundreds of citizens to help clear out snow as “temporary” employees.
South Carolina, y’all do that, too?
Shoutout Bennettsville, SC.

That weather guys hair is epic!!!
Might would have enjoyed it if there was sound I didn't know what they were saying
It’s a joke in Charlotte. Hardly much at all.
True, and they salted down the roads the day prior.
Does anybody know if Highlands got a lot of snow? My son has a vacation home in Highlands & I wondered if it got a lot of snow.
Swansburo n.c. get any ice
this. is not. snow. this is peanuts. I've been living here since '96, an' people still overreact to the "snow" that we get. Haven't had real snow in over a decade. yes, ice is hazardous, but people really need to grow up an' just learn to deal with it. the Mountains have snow - That is snow; people in Charlotte just panic over nothing.
Typical old people back in my day garbage. If the area goes decades without snow then people won’t have experience with it.
@@auroraborealis1663 Exactly 😂

This is funny trying to get people to actually think it's going to snow lol
