You gonna be so hooked! I got my PT01 a little over a year ago and I’ve been slowly modding it since. 1: Put in the Jessie Dean tonarm 2: installed a Start/stop button 3: changed out to lithium battery with battery housing. 4: Changed the platter to the more stable aluminum version 5: Did the belt tighten mod using the band I am more than happy with these mods. I choose to do an ortofon housing because I still had about 4 needles left over from my Tech 12’s. I also opted not to change out the factory “fader” because I like the “switch” feel. And besides, I could always add an external portable fader or portable mixer with a real fader. Or just a mixer with a fader. I was going to put a strobe light on just for the look of it but I noticed that it would interfere with me playing 10” and 12” records.(I’ve discovered that playing 12” is difficult with my start/stop button being slightly raised and in the way). Then I thought to myself, am I really going to play anything other than 7” on this unit? No not really. But the strobe light is rather unnecessary. I think the last mod that I would consider is the Bluetooth board. I would even do the ultra pitch before that. Anyway, I’m looking forward to integrating my PT01 with the new Phase that’s coming out so that we can all go to that next level shit!!!! Peace
DJ TLM TV All it is, is one of those rubber wrist bands that you get for free as a promo or like for a cause, wrapped around the base of the platter and then re-install the belt as you normally would when you are replacing it. I’m more than sure you have a dozen of those bands lying around somewhere. 👍🏼
Great video as always! I bought this last year. Watched loads of videos on it and decided to take the plunge into modifications. I installed the Jesse Dean Fader which is amazing!!! The cuts feel much sharper. This is perfect for me to practice on and learn various scratches. I love the fact that it's portable to! Looking forward to seeing your modifications as well for inspiration. Be blessed and keep scratching. 🎶
Do you have to have an iphone to play beats or can you use android or youtube. Will it play anything that connects through aux or you have to use an app?
@@nxvx5361 any aux input will do the job. Its really a great product. I highly recommend it on sheer fun alone. I just set it up to the aux cord in my car last night and was scratching the road. Totally something I never could do with a Turntable / Mixer / Speaker / etc
TLM? 😮 Wow! Broeder! Was echt DIK! Jij deed de beat en ik de cuts enzo. Jij zal het vast niet meer weten aar voor mij is het een mooie memory. ❤
Have one of these. I did the following mods to it: 1. Jesse Dean magnetic fader, the second version, that let's you adjust the cut-in with just a little screwdriver without taking the unit apart. Cuts are clean and sharp. 2. Jesse Dean carbon fiber tonearm and mounted a Shure M 44-7. Works great. Really stable and reliable. 3. Jesse Dean digital start/stop button. 4. Solidcutz aluminium platter. Stable and definitely (a lot) better than the stock platter. For batteries, there are a few options. I decided to go with a USB cable to be able to connect it to a powerbank. Works perfect! Of course, there's a lot more options to mod out on the PT01, but I think the four I did are essential to elevate the portable scratch experience to a much higher level. Great video by the way! I'm curious, what you decide to go with. Peace!
Welcome to the portableism crew! I was kind of lucky to be able to get an affordable vestax! - but im too scared to mod that one, so am looking forward to getting a pt-01 too, hopefully i can follow along with you on the mods, and have full on portable mix sessions!
Its going on a year since i bought mine. love the fact that i can take it on the go and bust it out when ever i have a itch to scratch. I have kept mine stock up until now thinking of changing a few things. Can't wait to see what mods you do.
Well my upgrade was new crossfader jesse dean, start stop button bihari, jesse dean tonearm and preamp for phono, shure m44/7 needle, stalibiser ring under the platter, rubber band under the platter for better torque plus external battery with output 5v 2A & usb inverter 5v to 12v for the power input. Lots of practice from DJ TLM TV and Big up!!
i've had mine for 2 years now .. i need to finally mod it .. aiming to switch the fader .. maybe that innofader stem connect .. would love the tone arm that rotates all the way to other side.. think it would help since i scratch record hand on record and fader on left hand..
Always with great reviews. Ive been looken for a portable been away from my tables for a few years due to work but i needa get a small portable set up i can travel with, just to get back at it!! Ty for the review boss keep up the good work. Is there anyone other one you would recommend?

Hey! Interesting to know about that "phono/line"-style cuts of oldschool turntablist. Would be interesting to find some videos back from those days. One more thing to mention: PT-01 can work as a DVS right out of the box! You just need to hook it up to your iPad (never tested with iPhone, but I guess it should work too) and run Mixfader-app. Then you can connect portable Mixfader via bluetooth, put timecode-vinyl and voila - here`s a portable DVS-setup. At least how I use it.
@@djTLMtv I wish Reloop Spin would work in that way, since I need to use external audiointerface to make it work with Mixfader-app (just like you mentioned above). Talking about Reloop Spin, IMO its better than PT-01 almost in everything "out of the box", like platter, torque, start/stop button, power-bank support, etc. But that "DVS-feature with iPad" is a big advantage of PT-01, at least for me.

You will need an audio interface to activate Serato. For instance: if I use the PT01 Scratch with my DJM-S9 as the mixer, Serato will work. Or connect it to something like a Rane SL2 or the Denon DS1. I remember seeing a video of the DS1 as a built-in Serato mod. That’s an option as well
