This song is an excellent example of why i name Jamie Oldaker as one of my favorite drummers ever. He played on i believe six Clapton records. Guy was a great drummer!
Very clear and helpfull explanations, thanks a lot ! Many drummers play low end patterns, this makes the song sticky. You offer the best explanation I found on Utube today as I wanted to know exactly what has to be done to reach a good groove.
As always Rob you do a perfect job of explaining this. Your notation is the best out there so please never change that. It's nice and readable for older folk. Liked your high hat lesson btw.
First thanks for the great lesson. Second, you sound awesome. Third, are you playing the bass drum with your left foot and the snare with your left hand?
I did my first proper drum gig last week and this song was in the set list, I got on fine with it but this would’ve helped a lot to get it spot on haha
Best advice I can give any aspiring drummer: play ANYTHING slooooww. .then gradually speed it up until you have it at the correct tempo. Then do it 1,000 times more.

That's very kind. Thank you!
Great video. I am surprised that Jamie is not more of a name as a drummer. He really had a unique and extremely compelling style and feel.

Thank you, Neal. And thanks for your kind support!
