Bought it (with your code) because of this video and your comment about the resizing. I use it to watch game of thrones again, amazing app. Used the built in browser before but the immersive lighting is just another level. Best app purchase I think I have made recently.
I have been using this app for some months and it's probably the most used app on my Quest 3. Personally I don't make much use of the lighting features, but it's the sheer quality of the video screen which I think is the best available. And it's very easy to use, no fuss. And.... for me then keyboard is the best on any app I have. It has predictive word suggestions which seem to be AI powered, and the text is displayed at the top of the keyboard so I don't have to look at the screen as I type. For me the keyboard opens a bit too close to me and if I move it back and then close it, it does not remember that position when I next open it. But that's a niggle. Great app even at full price!
@@Ozpeter it is a great app. Especially when I’m sitting with my kiddos while they watch their shows. I get this awesome life like screen and I can sit in the same room with them. I think my keyboard issues had to do with the prediction auto populating what was in the browser URL and not clearing. Other than that it was fine like you said. For some reason it seems like Meta is always upgrading there App to do the same things as Spatial TV and other apps. So it maybe in the long run Meta is trying to allow developers to create then use the same concept to make there apps function the same or even better. Anyway nice Videos keep up the good work.

Do you experience issues with playback on Plex in Spatial TV, such as stuttering or rapid pausing/unpausing (without user input), aside from MovieDeck for Plex? Sometimes this behaviour occurs even in native quest web browser. Edit: this occurs only when the window is not in focus(pointer not on the screen).
Not sure I’ve encountered the pointer issue. But on Plex one thing i notice is I’m getting a low frame rate when the movie isn’t maximized ( the expand arrows at the bottom right). I think these browsers are trying to present full screen when it’s really not actually full screen and it’s causing performance issues. I could turn the stuttering on and off in Plex reliably by toggling the full screen button.

Haven’t got my Q3 with me at the moment but has the resolution of Amazon Prime, Disney+ etc. been improved?. Still wasn’t anything higher than 720p last time l looked (UK)
@@spidermonkeynr1 maybe so, I can’t say for sure. I pulled up an 8k video on RUclips and it seemed to look great. Honestly I tend to not get overly concerned with if it’s hitting a specific number. As long as it doesn’t actually look bad. What I saw on the 8k video didn’t “look” like 720 or 1080. I’ll try to confirm.
@@spidermonkeynr1 yeah certainly watchable. I think the issue too is making the screen super big. You can’t keep “4k like” resolution when stretching it to the equivalent of a 200'' screen. 8k content comes close though
I can verify it does run like 4k / 8k. RUclips works perfect in 8k. Sure, its not the same as a tv. Let that be clear, because this screen is way bigger so obviously the smaller you make the screen the better you will percieve the quality. But if you stretch it large enough. Then all those pixels will get spread apart. Percieving a lesser quality
@@anonyoutube4619 exactly. I’m not complaining. If you google pixels per degree and VR you’ll see it’s such a different game compared to flat TVs/monitors when presenting resolution. I just stay happy if it doesn’t look fuzzy
I have Fluid and Spatial. know Fluid is more of a workspace, but since I can multitask in the there WHILE watching videos...I find I'm going back less to Spatial to watch media. I like the new features...but I'm on the fence if it will make me use it as alternative. This is all your fault Construct! LOL. You showed me both and ....hahah

It's not the reflective lighting that I'm after for my next player purchase, it will be it's ability to screen pause by a single controller click and without having to point at a menu that needed to be brought up covering over the screen content. Can Spatial TV do that? I'm willing to pay BIG for that feature.
I think you’d still have to point at the screen but the. Ice thing is, that there’s no window that pops up. The only user interface is from the content itself ..the typical pause play , time scrubber etc. I understand the need but I guess in mixed reality this becomes a challenge because the click changes context depending on what you’re looking at or pointing at.. so it doesn’t know if you want to select something or pause. 🤔. I’m going to look around some of the media apps I have
@@TheConstruct_VR Thanks for replying Jason. I own HereSphere and you 'can' call up the menu with one controller button and pause with the other button and you don't need to point at the screen! So it can be done. There are no environments, just passthrough without lighting effect. It's not my go-to player because of this and others and the codecs are lower quality.

No this runs primary. The stock OS is the best way to do multiple things. This app needs to work off of the spatial data in the room so it has to be primary
The fluid app is a full featured app and workspace this shouldn’t be compared. Spatial TV is a media consumption window. The lighting effects is its unique selling point. Fluid on the other hand has strengths in computing, for example mouse and keyboard “fluidity”😁 password manager, multiple windows , tabs , environments etc. They’re two different classes of apps in my opinion
I would focus on 2 things if you’re new to quest. Face/head comfort and knuckle grips. The strap that comes with it and the facial interface are almost painful in comparison. Try a halo strap it may change your entire opinion on the quest. Knuckle straps are huge! It gives the quest that valve index feeling giving you the ability to open your hand fully and then grasp the grip button when manipulating things in VR. The wrist straps don’t help with this. But this improved the immersion and the imagination of being there. Lastly a battery strap is 100% necessary. The quest 3 batter doesn’t last long enough for all it does. Depends on where you look at it. I wouldn’t use the apps try them in the. Browser. I know Netflix went up to 1080 RUclips does 4k /8K …

Can’t keep my Bluetooth headphones connected. Every time I do something in the app it disconnects.

I don’t think so, that may be limited to the meta browser. I’ll double check. Things are changing every day with all of the recent OS updates

@@Liwaaaah it really depends on the service you’re watching. 4k/8k on RUclips looks amazing. Apple TV+ looks great. Some are definitely better than others.
