One thing u didn't mention is that some kitchens use split receptacles (can tell by the hot jumper taken out)... To anyone watching this, make sure you know what your doing when you put this in
I wanna start buying these plugs for my Microwave, Refrigerator washer so on!!! What I would like to know tho if you put these on a Plug thats home run that hooks multi plugs does make all those plugs surge protected like a GFI would?
I believe that it's a cumulative surge protection so you'll want to be careful with something like a microwave that can draw quite a bit of current when in use. Check with Top Greener for specs and parameters first, to avoid problems.
No, all that self grounding means is that there is a brass spring metal or wire contacting the yoke and a mounting screw for a purposeful metal to metal contact between the screw and ground strap of the receptacle or switch. The screw threads into the metal box creates the continuity. Ideally, the back of the receptacle yoke will contact the metal box housing. In residential use where mostly plastic boxes are used, self grounding does not apply If you have a metal box, it still needs to be grounded to the electrical panel and at the outlet side it would connect to the metal box with a bonding screw. If you have a plastic box, the ground wire in the NM cable still needs to be attached to the ground screw of the receptacle. So, the red light means that there is no ground contact or connection.
The little things like this people make videos on is what I love

The red light means it's broken? Since it is self grounding.

Is the neutral wire a pigtail, since there's only one neutral wire connected and you have 2 hot wires? It must be, I guess.
Will it work correctly if the house isn't grounded?
I can't speak to that but if I were you, I"d get an electrician and ground my circuits.
test the metal box to see if it grounded. check on you tube.
Nice. Am interested in EMI suppression. This means that various high frequencies do not get past my outlet and do not radiate into my room.
You'd need to check with the manufacturer directly for that sort of information, Mike!
After 3 years, how it's performed?
Still in my wall, still works great. I use it to charge devices almost daily.
How do you reset it
That should be detailed in the instruction booklet included with the product.
I got zapped tryna unplug the wires
Ugh. Drop the circuit at your fuse box before you work on an electrical outlet. 100% of the time!
