Couldn’t agree anymore. This song holds up well 27 years later. So many songs of that era that I liked at the time, I don’t like as much now. Kylie is an Australian icon. People who dismiss her, are clueless.

I fucking love this song, but this was painful to watch (I actually remember watching it at the time). For six months before Impossible Princess was released, the music press were viciously out for her and her new “indie” style, and when Princess was released, I remember the NME calling Indie Kylie a fraud because it wasn’t an indie album - it was a label they forced or her and she didn’t ask for. And sadly the audience’s lukewarm response to those was just indicative of the time - Kylie weren’t that popular. Spinning Around, the rest is history, she had the last laugh etc. I just wish more people knew and loved this amazing song.

the nme were tools by the 90s,dismissing oasis' first two albums and putting the third on a pedestal. this was a great song
