I like to think of Louie as "Leaf" since leaf has the same first letter as his name and becuase leaves are green like Louie. Yeah it's sounds weird doesn't it?

You know, when Scrooge called Dewey "Sonny Jim" he was calling him 'young fella'. It's apperently a British term.

Well, there is the whole speculation that Scrooge has troubles with Dewey's name because Dewey reminds him the most of Della and he's afraid to accidentally call him her name.
@@marykateharmon in the Christmas episode he called himself bluey in front of uncle Donald. I think that's why Scrooge calls him bluey.

I love the "Who's the evil triplet?" line, because it reassures us that, while they are now distinct characters, the triplets still have the ability to act and/or speak as one when they want to. It's a HUGE part of their charm for me, and turning it into a shared skill rather than being their whole identity is a good call.
Noticeably enough, Louie's my favorite so far. Being a couch potato isn't that bad a lifestyle to strive for, especially when your great-uncle is the richest duck in the world, though I can imagine Louie not being too confident in himself at times or not willing to put in the effort.
Huey's the brains so Louie has no need to think and if something happens the eldest will be responsible for it, Dewey's the one that tries to stand out and rushes in so Louie doesn't need to do anything or try anything since the middle child will want to do it first anyways. He might fall into the background a little, which could easily create confidence issues like "my brothers do everything better than me so why even try ?" Being babied also makes it harder to do anything alone, since you're so used to others doing it for you.
I'm interested to see how he'll turn out and I'm probably reading too much into it, I'm also just talking from experience (youngest of two) that as the youngest child it can be easy to be left aside at times. Not only that but family members might tend to see you as the "immature one" or the "kid" of the family, it's harder to be taken seriously because everyone is older and knows better than you all the time.
Oh hey, you were right about the confidence thing, it being addressed at the start of the second episode. Good eye.
Dewey has always been my favorite triplet because that's what my smol brain decided. Now he's my favorite because he is a lot like me, I'm a middle child who wants to stand out from my siblings and seem "better" then them.
The fact that Dewey Duck has the same voice actor as Randy Cunningham immediately makes him my favorite in the reboot. Also I'm also a middle child so bonus.

has anyone noticed Huey, Dewey and Louis' new outfit match the chipmunks. I mean Huey has a hat like Alvin, Dewey has basically nothing like Simon and louie has a jacket with a hoodie like Theodore.
Zeno xBit Interestingly enough, when fans created headcanons of what the triplets' distinct personality traits would be like, they were often portrayed close to the respective chipmunks, with Huey being the mischiveous one, Dewey being the smart one and Louie being the naive, innocent one. That's often how they're porteayed in fanfics and even in Quack Pack
Can't wait! Dewey as the adventurer/attention seeker/middle child is so great. I mean EVEN in Quack Pack, he was the one that wanted space/Didnt want to share everything with his brothers. Love it ♡
I'm a little torn. Huey is Danny Pudi, and I adore Danny Pudi... but after reading Ducktales #0, the triplet that stands out the most is Louie. He steals the show there, perhaps because he's so unashamed about being a selfish, lazy greedbag.
From the two stories in that comic, I got a sample of the boys' characterisations... I enjoyed Huey as the chipper, positive, can-do guy and good Junior Woodchuck; Dewey got kinda shafted character-wise in the comic but he was still clear as the middle child who gets bored easily and wants a lot of attention. And then there was Louie, who basically came across as a junior version of a smooth-talking used car salesman. He was easily the funniest of the triplets.
So, until I see the series proper, my favourite is definitely Louie. (That is, my REAL favourite is Donald, because Donald's awesome.)
He was great in the comic -- and that's probably where we've seen the most of him. There's not a ton of Louie clips for me to work with!
That is true -- just like Dewey didn't get a whole lot in the comic, Louie has definitely been getting the least in promos and sneak peeks.
And yet even there he manages to do quite a lot with what little he gets, such as the totally deadpan "You're finally gonna sell us" in the first trailer, or the way Huey and Dewey immediately point him out as the "evil" triplet. When I read the comic, I just thought "Ooooh yeah, I can see why they would say that!"

@@tanglelover Not that different, really, at least not for Huey and Louie -- the first impression turned out to be pretty much the same as the second and third impression. Huey might be a little more eccentric and Louie seems to be heading somewhere interesting... I still can't decide which I like better.
When it comes to Dewey,, however, that HAS changed a bit. If he got shafted in the early comics, he MORE than made up for it by hogging the screen-time and attention in the show itself. In fact, I ended up getting rather tired of him because he HAD to be involved in everything and he HAD to make everything about HIM. That "overlooked middle child desperate for attention" schtick doesn't work when the so-called overlooked middle child is already getting twice as much attention as anyone else.
The biggest flaw of season one was the over-use of Dewey. Thankfully, he's been toned down a little in season two, so he's more tolerable, but I still think he's the least interesting and likeable of the triplets.
Dewey is my favorite for sure and he is right, Dewey and Webby became the closest friends.

So far my favorites Huey basically cause like him, I'm the oldest in a family of three (plus red's my favorite color) but don't think it means that I either didn't like this Dewy video or can't wait for Louie's, Woo-oo
Little did Dewey know that he'd practically get the most attention/screen time out of his brothers (so far)
They still better have triplet shenanigans at some point. You know, one sibling pretending to be a different one, maybe to cover up for the one that is off doing something. And, of course, avoiding Donald and possibly Scrooge who can tell them apart anyways.
That would be even better here, because they have different voices and different hair. It would be more of an effort for them!
Yeah 'Dewy' is my favorite as well; I seem to mostly go for the middle child when it comes to three siblings cartoon characters, like for instance 'Wakko' is my favorite of the 'Warner' siblings. : )

The very first reason Dewey got my attention was when I heard his voice when the trailer came out. I was freaking out when heard Randy Cunningham, so instant favorite. Which THEN led me to watch the entire series of Quack Pack, and THAT made my reason for liking Dewey as my favorite even better. Now this Dewey also seems likeable because I can so relate being a middle child of three, I didn't know that was even a trait to consider, but I guess it is and I'm glad I have it if Dewey does.
dewey is my favourite he is huge with adventure and is much different to his brothers and also in episode 3 i enjoy how he is the only triplet that considers that at mc duck manor he could learn something about his mum and throughout that episode shows that he is adventures and when it really counts he think things through and is an amazing puzzel solver
Dewey is now my fav because he said to Heuy "I will cram that down your throat," which is something I would say to my brothers

I love your videos about DuckTales, I used to read the comics and I'm super excited to see the rebbot, I think you doing great analysing the "new" characters, especially the one about Webby. Anyway I think you should look in Scrooge video that he is voice by the actor David Tennant who also played the doctor who, I think that's going affect his personality because I if you seen the video about Scrooge it appears a time machine, personaly I think that's a easter egg. So I guess they are going to use that doctorish personality in Scrooge, tell me what you think.

I want to do Scrooge and Donald videos badly, but I don't think i'll have time before the show launches! There's a bit to say about both of them -- donald is way more parental than he used to be, and Scrooge's focus in life is slightly different than it once was, and that's fine.
Tennant is doing a great job so far though -- before he started, I couldn't imagine who could replace Alan Young, but he found a version of scrooge that feels right.
this reboot is quite amazing. first 2 seasons where great so far. especially with the surprise from the moon ^^
i kinda like dewey the best out of all of them, and it was nice that he had a few episodes to himself (+webby; great combination :D)

Dewey has been my fav ever since I was a child and read "The Old Castle's Secret", and he was smart enough to find the secret passage back into the castle. (Also, being named "Dueteronomio" must not be an easy task, so I'm sympathetic to him b'cause of that XD)

It's eerie how that one episode from the old DuckTales ends up being the foundation for Dewey's whole character in the reboot.
As a triplet, though thankfully not identical, this is so my brother.
cant wait for the episode where webby starts spending time with huey and louie really often and dewey begins to think shes his replacement. i love that kind of thing. furthers family bonding and stuff.

I liked how dewey and webey became a duo
It's really funny how the sibling dynamic is very much like the one I have with my 2 siblings. Except Louie and Huey is reversed with the youngest being the responsible one.
It really makes me think, of how obvious tendencies sibling behavior might have.

I never knew me and Dewey had so much in common! We both have the same idea of adventure, both the middle child, both want to stand out, we both like blue!!! I know how you feel Dewey! And I don't know why but he's always been my favorite out of all of them.

Huey's my favorite so far because he reminds most of myself. I'm the oldest of 5 siblings and I'm also a responsible nerd. Dewey reminds of me of my brother, the middle child. I have a 3rd brother but he's a lot kinder and more honest than Louie is shaping out to be. Really, the middle brother in my family is like a combination between Ducktales 17's Dewey and Louie, while my youngest brother reminds of Louie Duck in the Quack Pack episode Shrunken Heroes. As for Quack Pack, my middle brother would be more like Huey and I would be more like Dewey, but I think we're swapped for Ducktales '17. P.S. I said I was one of 5 but then only mentioned 2 siblings, that is because the other 2 are girls, so I'm not going to compare them to the Duck triplets. My youngest sister does remind me of the original Webby though.

So glad you brought up the Duck in The Iron Mask--that's always my go to when thinking of the differences between the nephews. It's when I first was really able to know who was who. Good stuff.

It's sad that you're not including Quack Pack in the analysis, because "troubled middle child looking for his identity" is a strong aspect of his character there, too. I mean, don't get me wrong, Quack Pack never got *deep* -- but it WAS pretty consistent, and Dewey regularly had trouble connecting an empathizing with his brothers the way Huey and Louie could with each other. He acted out frequently, tended to be the one who escalated conflicts, played cruel pranks, and tended to have the most cutting sarcasm out of the three.
quack pack deserves to be taked about more in general i think, it had some good episodes and characterizations

I'm glad you included "The Duck in the Iron Mask" in your analysis. It never bothered me as a kid that the triplets were so similar. I always appreciated them as a whole. And TDIIM is one of my favorite episodes of the original series.

LILFOC1 sometimes, creators will lie so they can throw fans off track while they do the opposite of what they claim. Look at the Spear of Celine Episode. Or any of the episodes that involve Dewey and Webby being together either trying to find out about Della or the whole Sledding thing.
@@Yoshifan1219 Guys, why do you think they will lie? Webby never had a thing for the triplets in the original Ducktales. So why would you think it will happen in the reboot? I mean sure? the creators could have made that happen if they wanted to. But personally, I feel they are making the right choice because I don't you about you, but if they ever put Webby in a romantic relationship with the triplets it will ruin the show for me. This show has always been about family so why can't it just stay like that? There absolutely is nothing wrong with having a show with little or no romance on it. If it is, then stop watching This show go on and watch Star vs instead.
