Aren’t all engines except rotors hemispherical engines? Unless you have square pistons. Or if you going off the tiny tiny detail which makes a hemi a hemi.
In stock form the hemispherical head Predator doesn't seem to put out as much power. I put one on my 46" cut antique Sears Suburban and the carb needle stuck and filled the crankcase with gas. Of course it blew that engine. I replaced it with the old style Predator and it pulls better than the Hemispherical head ever did. They do seem to run out faster on a minibike but don't pull as.well on a long hill. But for building hi performance I'd choose the Hemi hands down.
true, mitsubishi engines from that era were somewhat unreliable and tended to overheat and blow head gaskets for no reason. friend of mine had a dodge colt that blew a head gasket in december, in seattle, cruising the freeway at 55mph.
Call go power sports and have them send you built engine. That would be good for everyone. Make a video with less wind noise and well get to see more of this awesome truck.
This is an amazing video! And what a project! It’s amazing how many cool vehicles are out there with bad engines and now for $2-300 you have the best built go kart of all time! You could pipe the fan engine cooling air through a dryer hose and have a heater for winter! Just be careful with those fumes!
I've got an old Cushman Eagle scooter frame with forks and I have been thinking about the Harbor Freight Predator V-2 16 horsepower engine with a torque convertor. It should be a pretty easy thing to do. You are an inspiration after seeing what you did with an old farm truck and a 6hp Predator. Having the low gears of a FWD must be helpful. Good job, young man!
Very nicely done man. Great job. You did a good installation and it runs great too. That clutch let's you shift gears... And make the truck more useable
I'm swapping the engine on my Toyota v6 for a Kubota v1505 no turbo , no nothing just the basics. Don't need 400 hp to drive me to work. Here in Panama diesel and gas are over $5.00 per gallon so can't beleave the cost of driving a v8. So thank you very much because after seeing your build I'm more confident on my 30 hp project. Very good mechanical skills.
I swapped a Predator in place of the failing flathead five horse on my snowblower. From my experience I would say that you will not be disappointed. Less temperamental in the cold of winter and throws the snow further. Also does not stall out in a hard drift. My only regret was that I hadn't done it two rears earlier.
Awesome! Great job. Now just prowl your local dump and other sources for a cheap/free busted snowblower or riding mower with a working 10-15 hp engine to swap in and she'll scoot and haul around the farm nicely!

Well done young man...well done. In the early 90's I helped my Dad put a small block Mopar in one of these very same trucks :) You have considerably more room than we ended up with lol.
That’s awesome! I am 14 and I absolutely love cars, trucks, dirt bikes and everything with and engine and I’m actually quite good at small engine repair hopefully I can get to work on bigger engines like a four cylinder and even bigger!
Cause they been told by idiot liberals that the government Will give them money. So they sit on their ass.
But you can learn so much more by smoking weed and playing video games. How else you going to get a 2.0 kd ratio ?
@@Michael-fi6ve this
As a 28 year old there are alot of people my age and younger who are really into tinkering and cars, quit painting every younger person with the same brush. Not every younger person sits around and smokes weed and does nothing, there's alot of us trying to fix this country that the previous generation screwed up.
sounds like it's only running on 1 cylinder.
Well, it was a Dodge, probably after 60,000 km it probably WAS running on one cylinder.
I happened upon this watching the gentleman who put the predator lawnmower engine in the Honda Insight. Naturally as a tinkerer myself...I had to watch your video......Young Man....I watch you....and I am more confident about the future of mankind! Great Job! Keep it up! Our future depends on young people like yourself!!!
Towing capacity may be a little bit compromised haha. Nicely done mate.
@Furn333 That lines up with the other phrase "anywhere is walking distance if you have the time".
It was with the original engine
@@kansascityshuffle8526 Yeah, they only had about 60 hp
@Furn333 Just very, VERY slowly.
That thing got a hemi?!?!
Yes, yes it does!! lol Nice!👍🏻
I noticed it has the cast valve cover which I'm told is the Hemi version, the other one is stamped steel and not a Hemi.
G56AG Yes. You are correct.
Aren’t all engines except rotors hemispherical engines? Unless you have square pistons. Or if you going off the tiny tiny detail which makes a hemi a hemi.
just wrecked a classic truck... Should of bought a new f150 yanked the EGO -boost lol.
One could argue that HFT engine is a huge upgrade from the factory power train
true, mitsubishi engines from that era were somewhat unreliable and tended to overheat and blow head gaskets for no reason. friend of mine had a dodge colt that blew a head gasket in december, in seattle, cruising the freeway at 55mph.
He has a good given talent. Harbor Freight needs to put him on.
Call go power sports and have them send you built engine. That would be good for everyone. Make a video with less wind noise and well get to see more of this awesome truck.
I’d try to get a built predator 670 from them.
Just glad to see kids having a little fun and learning something
+John Sellers It probably would have been easier to just fix the engine.
Absolutely brilliant young man!!! We need more like you!!
This is an amazing video! And what a project! It’s amazing how many cool vehicles are out there with bad engines and now for $2-300 you have the best built go kart of all time!
You could pipe the fan engine cooling air through a dryer hose and have a heater for winter!
Just be careful with those fumes!
Holy cow it actually scoots around, definitely gonna need more vids lol. Awesome work dude
I have seen them with Vanguard V-Twins installed. Check this link: www.hobbytech.com/VGcenter.htm I am in no way related to them nor the website.
Wish I still had my dead Geo Metro this would be the perfect swap, might even improve the top speed....
90 mpg here we come
Good idea!!
I loved my 3 cyl metro, 52mpg for a 1200 car versus spending a fortune for a hybrid
My neighbor has a metro convertible, just sitting in his yard. 🤔
This was amazing! Thoroughly impressed with the engine, the configuration and drivability! 5⭐️'s good sir
you successfully built, described, and demonstrated one of my childhood visions, GREAT WORK!
i want this young man on my apocalypse team!
That predator is beast. This guy is a genious! Props to him
Good Job young man, your parents should be PROUD!
It was so inspiring to see a young man with this much talent!
dang, you look like you live on Tatooine! Sweet creation, dude!
Possibly one of the coolest videos I’ve ever seen. I’m seriously blown away at how good that thing moves!
Well, I guess it should work in my snowblower. Awesome! $99 dollar engine running a truck. Incredible.
I swapped a Predator in place of the failing flathead five horse on my snowblower. From my experience I would say that you will not be disappointed. Less temperamental in the cold of winter and throws the snow further. Also does not stall out in a hard drift. My only regret was that I hadn't done it two rears earlier.
Dude that’s insane I’ve done some big projects but I never thought a 212 could push that thing
Awesome!
Great job.
Now just prowl your local dump and other sources for a cheap/free busted snowblower or riding mower with a working 10-15 hp engine to swap in and she'll scoot and haul around the farm nicely!
should go watch Carsandcameras and see what they do with these 212's, lol that had one pushing 9000 rpm and like 20hp
I have an old 28 HP snowmobile, maybe I should put it into a Cadillac.
Best, most dependable Dodge ever made!! Gotta get me a small truck/car and make one of those for work.
This is awesome! You need to start a go fund me so we can get money together for the big predator!
100% absolutely rediculous.
100% freaking awesome!
Thanks for the great video!
"Ridiculous"
@@hankdagmar2167 thanks.
Someone needs to try that 24hp v twin predator motor!
Buy one and send it to the kid.
24hp preditor
Hello, yeah.
@@calimesacox go in on half and I'll do it!
I found one of those 4 wheeled bikes from down the shore with the canopy. Think they're called serrys ? But been saying to my brother we should buy the v twin from harbor freight and bring it to life lol.
Proud owner of a 1989 Ford festiva here, gotta say I'm halfway done with my Honda 5hp swap and things are looking sassy! Would never have thought of it in a million years if it wasn't for your ingenuity🎉🎉 I hope you go places in life buddy
Well, thank you! That was such a nice comment. I would love to see some pictures of your project sometime. I also have many suggestions for someone building something similar to my build.
Imagine how fast that thing would be with the 22HP engine? Hope he upgrades soon!
Ya did a very good job on it. There's still kids out there that like to tinker with mechanical stuff. Good going
Nice job on the rebuild! Never saw anyone pull start a truck before, awesome!
I would've utilized a pulley to route the rip cord into the cab.
Yeah I'll bet you would have... Except for this kid actually builds stuff, not just talks about it🤣💥
@@mattwest6340 calm down lol..
His allowance was't high enough for the electric start lol
This is awesome. Nice build. It moves faster than I thought it could from such a small engine.
Very clever . You will do bigger and better things based on your skill set. NICE.
He already has lol look at this video !!
Wow the craftsmanship for a kidd your age is pheonominal. I could probably do only slightly better but im 43 years old lol. You have a bright future! Keep up the good work!
He learned more doing this than spending 100K at a "University." More of this should be the trend for young people...
For something to move firewood and junk around private property, this is a great concept. Good for you bro.
Very nice build, I don't think I ever seen a Dodge ram 50 before.
Not to popular seen like 5 for sale in 5 years
It was a Mitsubishi imported
Mitsubishi mighty max pickup rebadged as a Dodge Ram 50...not very popular, there was a diesel version which was probably just as powerful as that Predator swap LOL.
when in high school had the diesel version of this truck
@@4thGloryMonday 40+MPG? Someone here in town where I live had one and said they'd get over 40mpg out of their Dodge Ram 50 Diesel.
I love it.
Congratulations for your ingenuity.
These HF engines are quite extra ordinary and so versatile. One can find them everywhere.
This whole video has such awesome wholesome energy, I hope you keep posting!!
“I got it right and I don’t know how” the best.
Awesome! And to the 460 thumbs down a big thumbs down. You did it and it works, they don't get it 👍 and never will.
Agreed. Everything he did, he did well. An entertaining project, and fun to watch.
Dude, you are a master, you'll be a Chip Foose someday! Good job on the fabrication.
That's a cool project. The Citroen 2CV was a 9-HP engine vehicle.
2cv was 14hp. 3cv 35hp
Was thinking the same thing when i heard it ran hahahah...
AAI6718 2CV was 2hp 2CV is 2hp in like Italian and French or something
@@losmilitantesdemilei5259 actually, 2cv with the 375cc engine was 9HP
@@hojnikb In Argentina a 2cv had 14hp and 3cv 34hp
Im not shire about Europe.

Nice job! This reminds me of the vehicles built by young people in europe. Kudos for overcoming your problem ingeniously.
Very well-built amazing that you found a dodge 50 for free
I see the 212cc thing & think, that can't be right! Well, good job bud! I'll probably be just fine putting around the flat farm land.
I could NEVER figure something like this out! It’s quite brilliant of you!!!!!!!!!! Super impressive!!!
that thing is very cool. I'm old enough to remember when those trucks were brand new
