I'd absolutely love more thrift/antiquing vlogs!! This was such a wonderful idea.
Love this! My gramma was redoing her bedroom with a ‘1950s starlet‘a boudoir’ theme so I thrifted her a bunch of vintage perfume and makeup bottles and a silver tray for her vanity! She loved it and most of the bottles were only $5-$15 each
I love thrifted gifts. Plus, the thrill of the hunt makes it more fun.
Thrift stores and Antique malls are always a good time. They bring out nostalgia. I take pictures of all the things I find that my grandma has to show her the price people are asking for her every day things.
I always have better luck and more fun shopping at antique shops instead of thrift stores around us…I 🖤knowing that there’s a story behind every item 😊 My husband bought me a creepy doll through a local woman who buys porcelain dolls at thrift shops and transforms them into creepy ones. My son gave me a vintage ceramic haunted house that he saw in an elderly lady’s attic while doing insulation work. He said that when he told her how much I love Halloween she insisted that he should take it and gift it to me for Christmas 🎅🎃Evidently, her grown children don’t want many of her things and she was so excited to know that I would absolutely love and appreciate it. My son was so excited to tell me that she painted it herself in a ceramics class in the early 1980’s…so that was when I was still in elementary school lol 😂
The record browsing with background sound and your soft vocals is actually quality ASMR 🙌
Wonderful video. Looking forward to more like this. I work in my Church’s thriftique. I buy and gift from it regularly. Amazing what people so generously donate.
So, so sweet that you thought about giving you dad and mom the gift of music at their vacation/getaway home. So thoughtful and what a great selection of music. With the exception of BB King, I’ve seen all those bands live in concert. I remember the printers box from my ‘Industrial Arts’ 8th grade class back in the mid 70s! All those little letters so set. Oh, the 70s!? Strange times at school😂. Printer boxes do make great display pieces. I’m sure your mom and dad enjoyed the gifts.
I want to thrift all of my gifts next year. So I’ll be thrifting throughout the year and putting it away for Christmas and birthdays. My husband will be the hardest.
I thrifted & hand made most of my gifts this year. I usually thrift & make at least a few each holiday, but decided to step it up a little more this year. Everyone seemed to really like them (especially the hand made ones). You got some really great finds! I know your loved ones will be thrilled with them. Happy Holidays to you & yours!
Yay! I love watching thrifting and antiquing trips! The variety of things you can come across in the wild is so fascinating.
You got wonderful gifts for everyone. Would you share what they thrifted for you? I imagine they had as much fun shopping for you as you did for them.
I'm so here for thrifting and antiquing videos! Loved this. Made me misty eyed because my mom had a type tray (printer's drawer) too. Love you, Midge!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I own a vintage shop, and have people buying items that remind them of their parents or grandparents. I love old things, and hate seeing things thrown away, that are reusable. I enjoy looking at antique, and thrift stores, because you don't know what you'll come across, and you can find great deals.
I love thrifting. My husband and I go at least once a week... sometimes 2-3 times 😁 You never know what kind of deals you'll find. Love this video. Can't wait to see more like it. I'm big on recycling, repurposing, reclaiming and reusing. It's great to see others enjoying it too. XOXOXO Dawn
ooo so exciting. reminds me of what mia maples did last year, she asked her family for her gift to be some ceramic from the thrift that made them think of her
I love watching thrifting videos.
Love this idea! Seeing you take a thrifting journey would be fantastic
I have always shopped at antique malls for gifts. That's where the best stuff can be found! Rummage on, Midge. :)
What great finds! The Stray Cats! I bet your family loved their gifts.
I love Halloween, miniatures and thrifting too! Eventually, I am going to have a miniature Halloween dollhouse. My BF gave me 5 miniature Halloween cakes and mini pumpkin crates for Christmas. I made her some miniature bake goods. She loved absolutely ❤️ them! You can use a hair dryer to remove the miniatures from the drawer. Also, you can use museum wax to attach things in the drawer so that it won’t hurt them and you can move things around if you want too. Fun video! 😊 Happy Holidays!!
We did the same this year, it was really fun!
What a great concept! We already utilize thrifting throughout the year, but to add it to the christmas portion, would definetly amp up the thrill of the hunt. Thanks for sharing this. Looking forward to seeing more of these videos.
Awe, this was a sweet little video. I'd love to see you expand on this and hunt for more/different people each time so we can really see a diversity in secondhand treasures.
This was such a delight to watch. Looking forward to more vintage thrifty content ❤
What a wonderful idea! My family decided to take a trip this year instead of getting gifts. But I truly love the thrifting idea. I will use that next year. I'd love to hear what your parents thought about everything! I bet they loved it!
This was SO much fun to watch!! I hope you do more thrifting/antiquing vlogs even if you’re just browsing and not buying anything. I love seeing all the unique stuff! 😊
I really enjoyed this. I think what you found for your dad was awesome. Numerous years ago (😄😄) I bought one of my uncle's a couple of Ray Charles cds to add to his music collection for Christmas, and he got so teary-eyed because of how personal and sentimental the gift was. It's still one of my most fond Christmas memories from my young adulthood.
That said, I don't do a lot of gift buying/giving, but if I do I usually give homemade baked goods to my closest loved ones. If I buy a gift, I try to give something useful. I've purchased pajamas and skin care products for my mom, and coffee mugs for my closest friends and put homemade cookies and cocoa mix with it for hot cocoa nights. Now that my kiddo is well into her teens, I just got her a new hoody this year, a book , and some skin care for her nightly skin care routine. I basically try to keep it simple, practical, and budget friendly.
You are going to Blow your Friends Mind when she sees that Very Collectable Tea Pot!! Great Idea!!
Love this video! Thrifting is one of my fav things to do and fav videos to watch! Happy New Year! 🖤✨🫶🏻
Ooooh, I hope you use museum wax to hold the miniatures. Because part of the fun is moving the minis around
I actually did! Haha
Such a great idea, and you had fabulous luck!
I love the idea of a Thriftmas! I bet your parents loved their thoughtful gifts. Hope you had a super fantastic holiday ♥️
Man, you hit the mother lode!!!! Your dad must be around my age, because you picked up some of my favorites 😂
I loved this video! We love thrifting too and this was an awesome haul! My mom’s into mini villages and I’m into miniatures in general lol. And records are a score so your dad doesn’t have to worry about scratching his collection or leaving them at the cabin. Love the idea of Thriftmas! Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas (a day late lol) and a VERY happy 2024! ♥️♥️♥️
This is such a great idea, I hate the pressure of spending a lot for gifts, if I can just re-gift or make something for free I will.
Such fun!! Thrift shopping and antique malls are right up my alley. I literally can walk to this adorable old strip mall that's super close to me. I can remember as a kid growing up shopping in the department store that had beautiful glass enclosed steps that lead to a "beauty shop" where my mom would get her hair done after shopping in the first floor , that had everything you would find in a mall today. I get so nostalgic and "feels", shopping in that same store today, now a huge antique mall. I've been trying to find the perfect hall tree there. Also during Christmas, Santa's workshop with real reindeer would open out front and we would wait impatiently to tell Santa what we wanted that year!!🎄☃️❄️🧑🎄 See where your thrifting did to me!!🤣🤣💫
Im fascinated by vintage recipes, especially the jello ones. Lol
Thanks for taking us thrifting with you, it was so fun! I remember years ago when I was antiquing I found a huge pack of old school comics for my dad and a beer mug for my mom that was from Puerto Rico and hand painted. Those are the best gifts. The vintage cook books look fun - I love reading cook books and the vintage variety are so funny! I hope you make some of the recipes for the channel c:
I am here for all the thrifty things!!my things it’s hard not to thrift gifts. Shopping in a regular store can be hard. Plus there is no original gifts. Plus all gift are Xmas themed and can only be used during the holidays. One of my sisters her and I our gifts are mostly thrifted. We love it. The unique finds it’s fab!!!
Excited for the future thrifting vids!
I have that fabric ghost on the back o’lantern & the Stray Cats album! 👏👏👏
I live in KC and also love thrifting and spooky things! 💚
I still can't get over how adorable and perfect your intro is. 😍 I hope you have had a happy holiday Midge!
Love everything about this video ❤
This was lovely! I really enjoyed you taking us along and this concept in general. ❤❤❤
How fun and I bet your parent's loved their gifts!
Seems like you found some excellent traysure for your parents and friend! I have vowed to take better notes throughout the year for my parents to try to gift them items that will be meaningful and well-loved. I thought it was v sweet the level of thought you had for your parents!
Hi midge see if you put a tiny spot of washing up liquid on the records and clean them then rinse with warm water they will be brand-new again x
Thriftmas is such a cute idea I loved this!
Such a great idea and successful thrifting!! That's just so cool that you found literally everything you said you wanted to get!! Hope you and your family had a very Merry Christmas!
What a great idea!! I love thrifting!!!

More thrifting videos would be amazing 😆😆
I also ❤ CSNY😊 Great Christmas present. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas 🎁🎄
Midge you found the jackpot on your thrifting hunt...so freaking cool... Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
I love thrift hauls!!! I’m loving the sustainability journey. Kinda wanna recommend my family try it! I think it does promote more thoughtful gift giving. Did you end up getting the fishing pole for your dad too?
Please do some videos on recipes from the Joys of Jello!
Great video! Cute finds. I love your nails 😄
Thanks for the Video!! When you were looking through the Records, it almost put me to sleep, (I just got up) cause of the ASMR SOUNDS!👍💖 I LOVE IT! 😁 Cool place you were at! I'd Go there! (If I Lived near there) Take Great Care! 🙏 💚💞💚💞💚 🎄🎀🎁🎅⛄❄❄❄❄
Love thrifting!!
your intro is everythingggggg
I thought you painted your fireplace to look like the black was dripping down over the white. Actually I kind of like that idea. Maybe I'll do that on my fireplace.😁By the way, it seems your mom and I like a lot of the same things. I wish we were friends! Love your videos, Midge!
You should have grabbed that "James Cotton" album if your dad loves blues.
Such a fun relaxing video! Thanks Midge. Happy New Year!
Your family is so great to do this. Honestly, I've tried to convince people that Thriftmas would be a better way to go since so many people say they have no money at Christmas. Unfortunately I was told it was tacky. I think they just don't want to look for gifts or give to other people. I have a sister-in-law that wouldn't even let her girls bring thrifted books home to her house. The nice Breyer horses I found and disinfected, were left behind too. Cash was better and more appreciated I was informed. Kudos to all of you
@colemyst, I'm sorry to hear that your thoughtful gifts were not appreciated. My siblings and I welcome preloved items that fit our interests/collections.
@@Brabronacus Thank you for you kind thoughts. Considering that most of us have had second-hand or hand me down clothes, cars, houses, and even step-children (they were some else's first) I don't understand their feelings about such things,
I did thrifting for Christmas to! I found some stunning leather bound edition at a used book store for $15 each! These are Easton press book that generally go for much more I was thrilled. That was the big find. The other thing I did for Christmas was make some gifts with mostly items I already had, I have a huge craft space. We gave my brother a experience, when I went to Knott's scary farm with my boyfriend we somehow ended up with a extra ticket and we invited my brother to come with us, he was very happy since he's been wanting to go for a long time and when I talk to him he said I could count that as his gift.
It was very fun to watch a thrifting video.
I hope you had a amazing Christmas!
Yes! Love this!
I love this idea!!
I love this 😍😍😍 you picked out such special things! I hope you and your family had a great Christmas 💖
This was a great video!
Cute 🕸🕷🕸 🎄
Such a great idea... I feel like CA Bay Area doesn't have thrift stores like this.
❤
Where did you go? I’m from kc too
OOOOOO i’m herr so early I think i’m the first comment🙂🙂
I liked and shared this video 📹 out your welcome Midge. ❤😊
How did your parents like your presents?
Hi Midge! I sent you a message about an incredible antique mall vendor on fb but I'm not sure it went through! 😢

It’s after Christmas
Maybe this should have been posted earlier to be more beneficial
But I guess next year
I've noticed what seems to be a Starbucks cup in your two most recent videos, including this one, and I'm not sure if you're aware of the Starbucks boycott that is currently happening. People are boycotting Starbucks because of: 1) union busting within this past year and, more recently; 2) them suing their union over the union's pro-Palestine stance. Again, I'm not sure if you are aware of this boycott, and it's not clear where you stand in the first place, but it's becoming more difficult to watch creators not say anything, or say vague, neutral-leaning things that ultimately don't stand for anything during this genocide against Palestinian people. So if you are aware of this boycott and are still continuing to give money to Starbucks, that is very disappointing. But if you weren't aware, and this is how you learn about it, I invite you to stop giving money to them and to look into other brands/companies to boycott as well. For a creator who has been rather vocal regarding social justice issues (something I've admired greatly, especially as a fellow white woman), it is disheartening to watch these recent videos and not know for certain where you stand, and it's becoming harder and harder to keep giving the benefit of the doubt to people who will not stand up against genocide. If you see this comment, I appreciate the time you spent reading this.
