For anyone skeptical about this setup, my experience with this router has been great. I work in a remote northern Alberta refinery, where the internet sucks ass. I took my ps5 up to camp with me to test this router to the console itself before testing it with the portal. So far I can easily play Division 2 with 3 other players without a hitch
I've been on xbox since 2017 and looking to get back to into the Playstation ecosystem again. I think all the products in this video can help me get my feet wet until I get my PS5 Pro down the line. Great review I can definitely see myself gaming on the portal on my commute to and from work and at bed before I go to sleep.
Yessir, after the 4.0.0 update the portal is its own stand alone PS5-PS2 (with the possibility of it getting better once out of beta)🫡🎮🔥 fire product imo! Have any questions lmk
Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed this video of me showing you how to setup, connect and play your Playstation Portal outdoors using your mobile hotspot. If you have any other questions about this router let me know in the comments below 🫡 Thanks for watching!
Hey man, I work away remotely, and the camp/lodge I stay in has wifi that keeps dropping out every so often, my portal is always losing connection. Can this router be used to pick up the lodge’s wifi and keep the connection more stable? Or would this only be able to use my phones data plan?
Thanks so much for making these videos. I am planning on using this router on road trips, tethered to my phone, for my Portal. How do you think it will perform in a moving car?
Peace! Many portal gamers aren’t able to connect directly from the phones mobile hotspot because many carriers block remote play. This router is the ultimate bypass & it gives you a solid connection even when your signal is weak 🫡🔥🎮 hope this helps!
I never thought about using it with a Hotspot but if I did. But if it have as ethernet pass through then id put it in the WAN port and connect through the admin browser. 🫡🔥🎮
Great question! Wish it was that easy. Since the launch of the Portal connecting carriers mobile phones hotshots have been major issue due to NAT types. This will help bypass that so you can game wherever you go no matter the internet speeds (as long it's reasonable). Hope this helps 🫡🔥🎮
It'd be great if the portal was streaming from the cloud. Due to CGNAT, there is no port forwarding. The console you connect to is essentially a server. The games are streamed to your portal so you need a steady connection & the router helps with the limitations you get from using cellular.
@TechMarkGaming Got It, I have no problems with my T-mobile hotspot so I guess I'm good. But damn I only have 5gb to use and the portal Is a damn data hog! 😅
This router has faster data bandwidth since it has a USB 3.0 port & supports wifi 6 speeds. It also comes with a micro SD card slot for media hosting ect.. My iPhone 16 pro max works wonders with this one! If you want to know more about the opal router check the description 🫡🔥🎮 hope this helps!
Ive had this router for a about a week now. Ive only been able to test it at work but both times i connected it, it would connect my portal but then after about 10 seconds it would disconnect and would constantly be lagging and be unplayable. My job isnt in a rural area and theres area where i have 3 or 4 bars of hotspot signal and sufficant speeds but still lag. Unsure if its the my carrier ( t-mobile) or if its the area, or even the hotspot. Still going to do some more testing and will update!
So far it hasnt worked good for me constant stuttering and disconnects within 5 seconds . Ive tried it in an open parking lot with full bars of hotspot and it still disconnects. Want to have hope in this router but not sure what to do at this point. Ive already adjusted my display settings on my ps5 and have it connected via an ethernet cable. I wanna say this is either a problem w tmobile or the ps portal in general an is an issue sony has to fix!
Hmmm you can get a dedicated hotspot from t-mobile! I heard folks are having a hard time connecting the portal that way though. I'd just use my phone with the router and then if you go over your limit (they won't charge you, they'll just throttle your bandwith making it unplayable) which in return just pay a extra $10 for 10gbs of extra Hotspot Data. I rarely go over my data limit so yeah. Hope this helps John 🫡🎮🔥
@ yeah both the same for me. Cloud service is ok to play with my mt3000. Pixelated for my actual PS5. Idk if it’s my phone I’m still running the 13PM But it is what it is.
not sure this question was asked previously, but when i attempt this on my android phone, it tells me im connected but without internet after accessing the routers wifi. i also notice that it will not access my mobile hotspot after completing all the other steps. can you help or possibly show how to make it work on the android phones, otherwise im taking this device back to the store for a refund.
Peace Tyrone! I'm no android guru, but Id recommend check out the manual for android phones. If it doesn't connect I'd return it and get a tp link travel router 🫡🔥🎮 hope your helps

When you connect to the router it provides a more stable connection to the PS Portal due to it having WiFi 6. Your phone though it has a hotspot isn’t really made to be a router per se so it may give you internet service through hotspot your connection to the device will be unstable. I can get a lot more techie (WiFi channel etc.) but this was the most simple explanation 😂🙃
It's so crazy how black ops 3 looks almost exactly like codm or warzone mobile does. For some reason black ops 3 looks way better on PC. Maybe it's jus me.
You can plug it into any power source that your around as long as the wattage is decent. I just used the anker battery bank for this video for those who would be away from all types of power source.. Hope this helps 🫡🔥🎮
@TechMarkGaming I get it, I just feel that it's a portable router and should have its own rechargeable power source like a cell phone which is also a router, much smaller and does soo many other things and can still have its own power source that lasts all day.
So u but the portal - 300. Then you have to buy a case - call it 60 Need a dock , call it 100 Need a screen protector call it $16-$20 Then you buy a router , didn’t see the price …. So 5 bills lol
@techmarkgaming I could never get the "Trust this device" message to show up after plugging my iPhone 14 to the USB slot, any other tips before I give up and return it?
Happy holidays! Is the cable your pluging into your iphone the official apple lighting cable? Also is the router using the official cable that came in the box? I noticed sometimes these routers need sufficient power to work properly. Let me know🫡🔥🎮
I like you actually showing it running for a min on a game. Not just showing oh it’s connected good to go

I’m thinking about getting one for work as well. My hotspot on my phone sucks at work so would really like to try the tethering to see if it helps
Success 🫡🎮🔥 thanks for the comment again!
Give it a try! Travel router is a game changer 🫡🎮🔥 happy holidays
@ so far so good man. I’ll use no more than a gig of data each evening when I game for an hour or so
I'm convinced that this is exactly what I need for my PlayStation Portal after watching this video thank you this helped a lot
You have some great descriptions and time stamps your videos a great man really thank you. 💪🏾🙏🏾
Preciate you! Yes lots of time & hard work🫡🎮🔥 hope you found what you needed!

Do you need a subscription for it?

There is no USB A-C that came with portal... only USB C-C...
Been watching your videos since I got my portal. Thanks for all the good info. Also dragon ball sparking zero is my go to game right now.
Hey that's legit! I try my best to be helpful so everyone can enjoy thier portal to it's full potential 🫡🔥🎮 thanks for the comment!
Damn I keep finding gems on your channel. I neeeed this too
🫡🔥🎮
Been definitely playing a lot of Black myth wukong on PlayStation 5/portal
Thanks so much for making these videos. I am planning on using this router on road trips, tethered to my phone, for my Portal. How do you think it will perform in a moving car?
It should be solid unless your going thru the woods or desert 🫡🎮🔥
Now you need to bring a tv and a couch too! 🤣
In the future 😂
Question. Why would one need this device? I can connect my portable directly to my phone’s mobile hotspot and it works pretty good
Peace! Many portal gamers aren’t able to connect directly from the phones mobile hotspot because many carriers block remote play. This router is the ultimate bypass & it gives you a solid connection even when your signal is weak 🫡🔥🎮 hope this helps!
@ ok so I dont necessarily need this then. Understood
Will this work with a dedicated hotspot and if so how would you connect the router to the hotspot?
I never thought about using it with a Hotspot but if I did. But if it have as ethernet pass through then id put it in the WAN port and connect through the admin browser. 🫡🔥🎮
What's the reason for a separate router when you can just connect directly to your phones hotspot?
Ya why you need a router? We can just hotspot to the phone.

Yup I recommend upgrading to at least 20-40gb’s of hotspot data if your going to use this often 🫡🎮🔥
What is the different compare with opal GL-SFT1200
This router has faster data bandwidth since it has a USB 3.0 port & supports wifi 6 speeds. It also comes with a micro SD card slot for media hosting ect.. My iPhone 16 pro max works wonders with this one! If you want to know more about the opal router check the description 🫡🔥🎮 hope this helps!
Wait can you just connect the portal to the phone with the hotspot?
Who your service provider? How much hotspot do you get? You tried cloud streaming?
T-Mobile & I get about 40Gb of Hotspot data a month
Would you recommend the beryl ax or the slate ax for the PlayStation portal when traveling?
Slate works best for me. Never had the other but if it's has wifi 6 compatability then your good either way!

Is there a subscription you need to pay or literally just plug it in?
After you buy it you don’t have to pay any subscriptions that’s why I stand by this 🫡🎮🔥
How is the beryl 3000 just ordered that one instead as it was cheaper
This is is great so far especially with newer iPhones / android.
Can u make a video on how to connect it with an android phone please?
Is there a subscription based portable WiFi you can recommend because I don’t want to kill my data
Hmmm you can get a dedicated hotspot from t-mobile! I heard folks are having a hard time connecting the portal that way though. How much is it a month ?
This is the end is how good the connection is on your phone in the area
hey do you have a link to the thumbgrips?
What's up Kev, it's in the description under the name 'Skull & Co. X Savage Raven Thumb Grips' hope this helps 🫡🔥🎮
Good morning, i have a question? If I use this router, would it still burn my hotspot data ?
Morning, yes so use it wisely! You can also use this in places like hotels for your own personal WiFi network 🫡🔥🎮
Does it boost the internet connection or make it better?
Yes it's more stable!
@ doe it boosts the mbit/s download and upload ? or its stay the same ?
Ego Shooter Games / First Person Games / Games where u Need to aim: input lag of the century
Who’s your service provider mine is slow slow
T mobile for wireless & spectrum for home

Did u get the router to work on android. Because I am having the same issue
Or just connect to your phones hot-spot directly. No need for the go between 3d printed plastic.
Many portal gamers aren’t able to connect directly from the phones mobile hotspot because many carriers block remote play. This router is the ultimate bypass for a solid connection 🫡🔥🎮 hope this helps!
Where the link ?? To buy it
Link in the description under products in this video 🫡🔥🎮
lol didn’t think anyone actually played that power washer game haha
Why do you need the router can’t you just straight connect to phone I don’t understand

@LifewitLeorricJ I agree! I found this to be true over time. Best investment when I'm going on the go with the portal!
How much was it
It's so crazy how black ops 3 looks almost exactly like codm or warzone mobile does. For some reason black ops 3 looks way better on PC. Maybe it's jus me.
This "portable " router needs to be rechargeable. Having to have a battery bank as well is annoying.
You can plug it into any power source that your around as long as the wattage is decent. I just used the anker battery bank for this video for those who would be away from all types of power source.. Hope this helps 🫡🔥🎮

Nahh I rather play BO6 on an ROG ALLY. The portal can’t handle that game
