This video was so informative. I just got on the creator hub of Pinterest and I’m trying to grow my page. I want to grow as an influencer on Pinterest. How do I get connections to let’s say influencer events and being on a PR lost when Pinterest is my only platform that I plan to grow on .
Another great video! Pinterest has rapidly become my biggest platform too and I've been utilizing it to drive traffic to my online painting classes. Love the idea for affiliate linking too!
I've had Pinterest for YEARS and during lockdown I was getting over 1.4 million monthly views and It confused me so much how I had no way to monetize it, I still get over 300k monthly viewers and I could really use some money to pay off my student credit card, watching your video I'm still so confused on how to do it, do you have any Ideas on how someone dumb like me can understand this ❤😢
Thank you Austen! My Pinterest is probably my most viewed platform so I’ve been wondering if I could use that for brand deals. And I had no idea I could link products on my idea pins.
The reason Pinterest want two links is because the first like has your affiliate information for the company you are promoting. This way, when someone click on the second link (the product). It goes right to the company product you are promoting, because your affiliate number is tied to that product, they know who and where to send that money too…aka: you!
Not sure I follow this-when I use LTK links it brings people to the right product AND I get the credit, I don't understand why Pinterest can't just accommodate that one link
Hey @Kayla's Chaos! First of all, congratulations on your success with Pinterest! 🎉 It's amazing that you have been able to generate so much traffic to your blog through the platform. I have a question for you, as I am also looking to grow my Pinterest presence. I currently have 3 million monthly visitors on Pinterest, and I was wondering how much money I could potentially make if I started a blog. Is it even worth it? I believe I can easily increase my monthly visitors to 10 million in the next 6 months. Any advice or insights you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! 😊
Do you think Pinterest will be around or accessable/active for most if not all of my lifetime? I'm 30 years old. Just curious what you think?? Appreciate you!! 💯🤙🏼
it's an interesting question! I definitely don't see signs of it going away anytime soon - I think with all social media we'll have to see and wait how it evolves as we all get older as well. I always ask myself if I could picture myself still doing Instagram stories in like 30 years 😂
I heard that there is a risk to be banned on Pinterest if you use affiliate links in pins. Also heard that shorteners are forbidden. Many people advise you to drive traffic to your own website and from there to your affiliate links. Also, some people say that there is an option to 301 redirect users from your website link which you paste on Pinterest to your affiliate link but I don't know does there is any risk to be banned for such actions. What are your thoughts?
Hi! So from my understanding an account would only be at risk if that pinner is not following the community guidelines Pinterest lays out around affiliate links. They are absolutely allowed according to Pinterest but you must disclose your affiliate relationships (they do this for you if you tag using the built-in product sticker) and they have to be relevant to the content. You can also definitely drive traffic to your own website where you have affiliate links. I actually have a whole video about affiliate marketing on Pinterest coming out on Tuesday, and I'll leave a link to the community guidelines in the meantime.
@@AustenTosone I think they meant multiple accounts and this from Pinterest rules: "Creating affiliate Pins repetitively or in large volumes - marketers should follow our spam policy and use affiliate links in moderation". Also, for each affiliate link you post you should read where they want it to be placed because, in some affiliate programs, they don't want it to be posted on Pinterest.
I like the way you speak. No ahh, and em, and that little bit of vocal fry gives your voice more authority (for lack of a better word). Anyway, I subbed. Great information - thanks.
