They're not wrong. Social media and the fight for keeping users spending as much time as possible on a specific app is going to be the fall of mankind. Companies have got so good at grabbing our attention, manipulating our choices, and predicting our actions that it's terrifying.
Morning. And yes, although this might be wasted on ears that already know this, the youtube algorithm gives out good videos, in order to keep you going through all the crappy videos... Which heck, those crappy videos, can make slightly less crappy videos, look good enough for anyone to watch after going through so much crap that they "don't know" what's a waste of time and what's not anymore, i.e. sans undertale but its *insert thing here*, vs christian weston chandler documentary, with the documentary being the better of the two, but still probably a waste of time sorta... still great content tho. Take this and repeat it multiple times with totally different topics, i.e. vtubers being happy and weird and making themselves look ugly via changing vtuber models to intentionally boyish avatars vs distressed anime girl vibes... yeah distressed anime girl vibes takes the cake for me... But a lot of this is also very dependent on preferences, so uhh... forget you heard my preferences.
I wish people would start realizing that addiction (even to one’s own phone) isn’t exactly a choice, and begin the first step of fighting it in doing so. I feel like so many people around me deny having an “addiction to their device,” simply for the fact our generation (gen z, in my case) is so criticized for it. We don’t want to be seen as “every other kid” so we avoid facing the fact we DO have that problem, and hence never begin the acceptance phase of overcoming that issue. If we can’t accept that we’re addicted, we’ll never be able to escape it, which is why I ask two things of anyone reading this: 1. Don’t judge people for what they essentially can’t control. I grew up with social media at my hands, and it’s not my fault I had no clue the damage mindlessly indulging in it could cause. 2. Be aware of yourself. Listen to this video, and really think about those signs of addiction. Take a step back, and ask yourself, what can I do to get better? It’s OKAY to be struggling, and I encourage you to reflect, and accept any part of you which may think, “I have a problem” It sounds a little silly to be putting the alcoholic or drug addict speech into the context of social media, but physical and mental effect differences aside, all of it presents an issue in the fact they are addictive and screw with your quality of life, simple as that
This is one of the most in-tune and in-touch with the reality of addiction comments I've ever read. This speaks of understanding and compassion: 2 key, crucial elements in the first steps to working on solutions to the problem of addictions.
maturity is realizing that topics like this and how to be rich quickly, why porn is harmful etc are now just general working video topics for many creators and real value is dying out because of these trends

I'm 22 & have been struggling with social media/phone addiction since I was 15. I quit social media (except youtube) in March 2021 after realising my average screen time daily was 14 hours (across Twitter, Insta, TikTok & Snapchat). Although it's improved my life greatly, it's harmed my social life. All my friends look at me weirdly & treat me like an alien, anytime I'm with them they're on their phones most of the time while I prefer people watching or looking around. It's horrible how drowned society has become in the digital world, I'd give anything to live back in the 70s/80s/90s & embrace a more simple life. I really have to fight temptation to go back to that digital world, it's a legitimate addiction that destroyed my mental health for years.
Hang in there youngblood! You're on the right path and coming from a boomer who lived thru those decades I can tell you we only watched a couple of hours of TV each day generally in the evening. Back then people called it the boob tube and would say it rots your brain! So the rest of the day was spent outdoors, listening to music, talking on the phone, reading books and on various other activities or sports. Find some hobbies and activities that you enjoy. Really lean into it and you'll enjoy a much more fulfilling life!
I'm glad you've taken your time out of social media because I too, am trying to have a healthy balance. I even deleted Twitter from my phone but only use it on my laptop which I only use for uni work or reference drawing. Or just keeping aware of how much time I spend on social media. The one thing I'll say and it's about your comment that you want to live in the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I just think people glamorise the past often neglecting the bad things that have happened. Not hate but I hope you have a great day or night.
Imagine what you would need to have infinite scroll in the 1700s, a team of people assembling papers together, cartoons, stories, essays riddles, treatises and other creations being constantly at the ready.
I visit social media like facebook every 4 or 5 years and it reminds me why I don't bother with it. I see a sea of people living mediocre lives who could be doing so much better if they traded their social media time for actually living instead. I've been using computers since my first C64 in the 80's, I use computers every day for work as an engineer, there are so many good ways to use technology. Instead, society is filled with zombies, infinite scrolling, and going nowhere.
My friends would rather talk to me on Discord and Instagram. Rather than through text messages. I broke the habit of doomscrolling weeks ago. Yet I see them stuck in the same loop. I don't interact with anything they send because it will only grease the grears. Much happier now and my attention span is better. I can actually hear and understand music again which feels weird to say. Like comprehend the lyrics. Another thought to add. I've said to my dad: "The problem with people my age is short form content. Short form content; short term goals. Short form everything." I don't have alot of friends but they call me an old man despite being young. "How you do one thing is how you do everything." Some truly don't let this quote sink in.
some of that short term everything literally comes from the economy not allowing for this younger generation to even financially plan ahead long term. Eventually they'll think "why even socially plan ahead?". Why would they care about the dangers of doom scrolling in such case? Either way, I hear you man.
I'm on day 3 of no social media and the constant dread/fatigue/despair i was feeling is going away and it feels like my world is getting smaller, in a good more controllable way. I hope more people get to this point
Don't forget that RUclips is also a form of social media (with infinite scrolling) :D I'm glad you found it helpful though, I cut almost all of the major social media channels out of my life. Yet RUclips has stuck, that needs to go as well eventually I think. A first step for me towards that goal was consequently unsubscribing content that no longer brought entertainment or is overly negatively phrased, hopefully mostly leaving science and informative channels, rather than what I personally consider "meaningless content".
I personally think this may be one of the most important videos ever made. It highlights how we have almost all become "addicts" to electronic/internet stimulation. I'm sharing with my e-news subscribers, as well as your video on Overstimulation, as I think they are essential for understanding what our modern, phone-based world has done to us, and how we can get our life, critical thinking, productivity, and happiness back.
So long as you teach him of the dangers prior + your reasoning rather than refusing all access. Parents do the same with drugs and alcohol and then the second the children get access to it without parental supervision then it goes crazy. It’s healthy to introduce things to them appropriately than restricting all access.
You say that now ...until the absolute panic of him simply wanting to stay at a friend's house. And you'll def want that contact. Or to track him .. and then he'll have it .. and he will use it . That's how it turned out for me anyway. Doesn't necessarily mean it will to you :( there are other options of keeping in touch I guess
I stopped all scrolling but if I do scroll my algorithm is all self-improvement motivational content - and it’s like “oh that was insightful” and put it away after a few reels
I got my first android phone about 5 years ago. I didn't have any idea how to use it. Looking back it was comical how lost I was and I got so angry at the phone I almost threw it away. But, I eventually figured it out. I don't have any problems ignoring my phone, I can get along fine without it, and if I stare at it too long I get a headache. But I have hobbies and interests and I fill up my time with these things. I feel sorry for people who stare at the phone. I do use RUclips, but that's all I do. I don't watch tv, I don't watch movies anymore. I don't watch the news. I'm happy ☺
I'm Binge watching youtube and finally I'm here in your video after a while. It's not Infinite scrolling but I comment and watch every video.[ EDIT - On Homepage , not all videos from Recommended right side / windows site] Commenting is just one extra stuff like a BookMark , if I delete my googly history , I know what I watch or " liked videos ". Well I know your video everything most said in old videos like the algorithm one too this is also good . Keep it up ! love the content. Binging at 1.25/5x Speed
Im so glad I deleted tiktok. RUclips and reddit have filled that void instead though, the only difference is that I watch long form content and usually reddit posts are made of a majority of text. Its still unhealthy, looking at my data on my phone, I spent 33 hours on youtube and almost 24 hours on reddit within the last 10 days. That doesnt include the time I spent on my laptop, or the time I spent playing video games. Jesus christ I have no life, what the hell am I actually doing? How do I actually stop this? Maybe i'll try and learn how to code or something in my spare time, but it feels like I dont have time for it because I'm procrastinating studying for my school exams. Holy shit I might actually be cooked
Try not going to grab your phone when you wake up and focus on only completing the hardest tasks of your day. That’s what I did in college. What I do since I work now and am upskilling by studying for certs is putting away my phone as soon as I get home and focusing on what I need/want to get done. Reading is cool too, helps when I want to stimulate myself without resorting to my phone. Obviously, take your time to gradually develop the discipline to do so. Don’t recommend cold turkeying.
Trust me when I say you can get a lot done in a short amount of time and have free time to doom scroll or whatever you want. Time management is key and a good skill to have.
I noticed when I’d go on Instagram for a specific reason I’d get caught up in 5 minutes of scrolling without even doing what I wanted. What helped me was eliminating every follow that was simply fun or entertaining and only following things I wanted for certain purposes. Now my feed is informative, not entertaining, and I never feel like looking at it when I’m bored.
Tired of scrolling so I just deleted the apps I don’t like anymore. One day I want to just not have any of the main social media apps. RUclips doesn’t count as social media to me either.
My favorite answer to the Fermi paradox is any technological civilization will inevitably create something like social media, build rewards into using it and that reward system always leads to total species extinction through stupification.
honestly it feels so good to be away from my phone having my data cut off for a day makes me plan out the usage of my time and if need my phone where to get internet from. even before my phone is about to die i feel relieved that i can get disconnected from my screen, but when it does it’s always did i miss an important text or feeling the need to search something up. idk i need my mobile device to live😂😂

Brainrot could turn out to be a form of escape mechanism. Society's new drug of choice: mindless content to numb the pain of meaningless-ness. We're not just wasting time - we're hiding from ourselves.
Man dopamine is not the feel good hormone, its the hunting hormone It makes the chase fun, the hunt fun, and thats the exact reason for doomscrolling We are hunting the next video that interests us, the next video that entertains us, or the next video that might change our life Its fear that keeps us scrolling, like what if the next video might just change my life type shit, which is basically fomo But this is not true, majority of the content is brainrot, and has zerovalue, especially scrolling. Its way better to watch long form content, or just lave the internet. Its hard but i am going to try it out starting today Peace
And thats why i enjoyed the ending to "Ready player one" where he shuts down the whole network on tuesdays so people can be in sync with reality instead of being glued to a screen.
Exactly why this is one of my favourite youtube channels. A channel designed to inform, using his platform as a positive force for the world. Amongst all the bs
Having a burnout and only doing 3 things a day, I have used it for yt once and regretted is already, only been doing this for a week. But it felt like such a waste of time, ‘cause I didnt have any time left that day to use on my hobby and was than forced to do nothing again. I am watching this now, which I find really interesting, and do notice that I don’t feel like watching other videos right after.
Tips: Be aware of your emotional state, nitice when it's being manipulated. Train yourself to enjoy doing hard things. Learning a skill, like art or weight training. Appreciate spectrum, and nuance, black and white thinking is dull amd dangerous. Enjoy exploration curiosity not spoon fed thoughts. Take responsibility and self reliance. Delete or ideally never start social media. Regard it as your worst enemy, and crack... only wear jewelry made from ethically sourced dinosaurs and spaceships 😂
My phone is practically the equivalence to an iPod touch where I only listen to music, only social media apps I use is instagram, boomerang (which is a loop app,) and youtube which is only on my phone to make comments on videos since I mainly watch RUclips on my TV. My insta is private and I’m on long enough to post an update for my few friends and family members that follow me to see and leave the app. Social media really affected my mental health and self esteem. There are things being promoted that are just morally wrong. Things being normalized that shouldn’t be. Judgement all around. It’s not even safe anymore for anyone.
All I have now is Reddit, and youtube. Eventually I’ll have to delete them both. I’ll have to go back to a flip phone. Doom scrolling is ruining my life 😢
Great vid, just one gripe: your explanation makes it sound like dopamine itself makes you feel good, or IS the reward. As I recently found out via Cal Newport (and fact-checked), dopamine drives the behaviour to seek the reward, but isn’t a reward in and of itself, nor does it make you feel good - it just compels you to engage in behaviours that feel good. Finding something interesting feels good in this context, in the same way eating nice food does… it’s the dopamine that compels you to scroll or to find (and eat) the nice food in order to gain that reward. ADHD meds cause the body to create dopamine but the medicine itself doesn’t make you feel good (at least not after the first couple doses), it simply gives you the impetus and energy to get up and do things. If dopamine itself made you feel good, people on ADHD meds would high as a kite nonstop haha

For those saying youtube should have an option to remove shorts - It has an option. Just add all the shorts on your feed to not interested. Once you do it, you wont get the shorts in recommendation for days. Once they comeback you can repeat the steps again and it'll disappear for some days again.
I feel like I'm the only person who still prefers desktop/laptop to smartphone and I don't like scrolling for too long, I'd much rather spent the time drawing or gaming ✨ I do watch a lot of YT videos but mostly just during work hours as background during boring/easy tasks 🤭
I have been watching your videos since at least 4 years and for sure you're one of the 'better' channels out here on YT, while your videos, topics, etc are very interesting most of the time, there's something I'd like you to change actually, I don't know which microphone you use or if its an AI generated voice, but the 's' sounds when you speak becomes really irritating. Checked if my speakers were faulty but they're not apparently. Checked on 3 other devices, it persists on all of them. Please do something about it.

It's basically one device One mission at this point and when it rains for almost a solid week straight that doesn't help at all I kind of sort of knew what was coming back in the days of Android 4.0 ice cream sandwich but it was nowhere near as self-evident back then.
I’m unsure if this take means anything but if you most certainly keep the cycle of manipulation it’s never gonna end almost all generational things have an issue starting to think it’s best to dictate manipulation and call yourself to lots of people.. like philosophy is.. upsetting because of the prolonged issues.. what happens if we let it go and figure out what to do with solitude?
Nothing is forever. Saying that, I admittedly don't have any solutions other than personal discipline (which who knows, the kids growing up with social media might develop an innate sense of and thus when to stop scrolling).
The advertising angle is confusing to me because I don't buy stuff like that. If you can buy ads and guarantee sales you are reliant on people being stupid enough to just buy what they are told to buy. What would happen if people didn't respond to ads? If they weren't so stupid. Thatd be great.
Apps like TikTok should limit the number of scrolls for each user, and that a user must pay for premium to get unlimited scrolls. However I don't think the companies would agree to that
I managed to quit infinite scrolling, because i started to hate myself for doing it. And i felt better after quitting because I was able to see it from the outside and saw how bad it was.
When I was in my home country for a few weeks in 2023 I was in a family friend's house with an adult and 2 other girls my age (below 18 at the time) and one of the days the 3 of them were in the living room just sitting on the couches scrolling on their phones, at the time I was laying down in bed watching a livestream but when it ended I went downstairs to ask what they were up to and I saw them on the couches so I decided to sit down beside one of them, 30mins to an hour later and the one that I sat beside asked me how I was so quiet and not on my phone (I was just thinking about random stuff I wanted to do). I don't know if that means I'm ''weird'' in today's standards or if I'm just a rare case in the new generation. (I have never seen the benefit of using social media either, although some would argue that discord is a social media although its more private. Until now the only post I've ever made was on X and it was for a Science week where a group from my school went to a university and we were asked to post photos from activities during the week)
Just look on your pinkie finger of right/left hand which ever you use while scrolling you can feel a dent 💀💀💀💀 that will cause if you use mobile to much if you have it like it
th ebest way to escape it is to literally sell your phone for one that can only do stuff such as call and text. A laptop can meet the rest of your needs, and youare less likely to turn on a computer just to go on tiktok (for example)
Infinite scrolling is bad but it’s not really the problem tho because a lot of people have been addicted to RUclips before Infinite scrolling. I’ve been watching RUclips videos every night before going to sleep since I got my first iPod in elementary school

Just wondering if the internet were to be shut down just for 1 day all around the world. What exactly would happen?
A lot of bad than good.
I want to see an entire year
It came quite close a couple weeks ago by a bad crowd strike update. Didn't affect the scrolling media much but did mess up lots of critical services.
Financial collapse.
maybe we can do that just for social media!
It’s OKAY to be struggling, and I encourage you to reflect, and accept any part of you which may think, “I have a problem”
It sounds a little silly to be putting the alcoholic or drug addict speech into the context of social media, but physical and mental effect differences aside, all of it presents an issue in the fact they are addictive and screw with your quality of life, simple as that
You're so correct. Life before social media is probably the realest reality we would ever have.
This is one of the most in-tune and in-touch with the reality of addiction comments I've ever read. This speaks of understanding and compassion: 2 key, crucial elements in the first steps to working on solutions to the problem of addictions.
This. 100%!
Social media has become incredibly toxic too.
It always was. But yeh it gotten worse
frrr
maturity is realizing that topics like this and how to be rich quickly, why porn is harmful etc are now just general working video topics for many creators and real value is dying out because of these trends
True
Yooo
Deep
one thing i hate the most is the lack of memory for most of the things i watch, often i catch myself not remembering what i watched 3 scrolls ago on tiktok and reels. its super irritating
it's called shortened attention span my friend it is very unhealthy and unnatural for are brains to consume 100 videos in a hour
I don't have social media, i had facebook aged 13-17 but that's it.... im 30 now, I do seem to scroll on RUclips quite alot tho and that feels bad to me
remember moderation is key
Turn off watch history and it will automatically turn shorts off
No Shorts are still there.@@Darsh998
It works it fucking works I Love you@@Darsh998

Thanks for supporting 💚
3:01 I'm still using a desktop computer and "surfing" the internet.
Also, I'm almost not on social media. Only RUclips.
sounds like a good idea, I'm going to do the same...
Same
Imagine what you would need to have infinite scroll in the 1700s, a team of people assembling papers together, cartoons, stories, essays riddles, treatises and other creations being constantly at the ready.
If I see a short that Im interested in, I'll watch it. When it's done, back to the home page.
Short form everything."
I don't have alot of friends but they call me an old man despite being young.
Either way, I hear you man.
probably one of the most important videos of our time
I'm on day 3 of no social media and the constant dread/fatigue/despair i was feeling is going away and it feels like my world is getting smaller, in a good more controllable way. I hope more people get to this point
Don't forget that RUclips is also a form of social media (with infinite scrolling) :D
I'm glad you found it helpful though, I cut almost all of the major social media channels out of my life.
And this is why my son wont be getting a phone until he's much older.
Yes please.

I stopped all scrolling but if I do scroll my algorithm is all self-improvement motivational content - and it’s like “oh that was insightful” and put it away after a few reels
same
Exactly what I do
1:49 dinosaur fossils are ethically sourced lol
Bro the gas you are using in your vehicle is much less ethically sourced than those Dinosaur fossils
some stuff (suppresses doom scrolling), 1: don’t have a phone, 2: watch more long form videos
I gave up phones 5 years ago. Now I almost never use the internet in Berlin, Germany.
I'm happy ☺
The reason this video didn't get views is because it's not a short.
Using adblock everywhere since 2011. Still baffles me how this industry still exists.
Just purchased an old school feature flip phone. Getting as far away from my smartphone as possible
Bro i swear, when I was taking a shower, I too hit by this idea. But this idea is quite difficult to apply 😌
RUclips is the main problem for me
My favorite answer to the Fermi paradox is any technological civilization will inevitably create something like social media, build rewards into using it and that reward system always leads to total species extinction through stupification.
honestly it feels so good to be away from my phone having my data cut off for a day makes me plan out the usage of my time and if need my phone where to get internet from. even before my phone is about to die i feel relieved that i can get disconnected from my screen, but when it does it’s always did i miss an important text or feeling the need to search something up. idk i need my mobile device to live😂😂
When the servant becomes our master is how the light of humanity dies.
Thank youuuu for your great work on this piece 💕 it’s really inspiring and a great piece to learn about how apps work in different ways 💕 thank youuuu and thank youuuu
What I want to know is how or where Aperture get these little clips of people on their phones throughout the majority of the video
People make those clips and sell them to people like him
Brainrot could turn out to be a form of escape mechanism. Society's new drug of choice: mindless content to numb the pain of meaningless-ness. We're not just wasting time - we're hiding from ourselves.
Well I browsed pages on the forum when I was a teen before the scrolling feature so, I think the scale just grow ... a lot.
Lol omg. I play the flute, i play videogames, i my job is at a computer, etc. Lol im worried about what my fingers will become when im older
Man dopamine is not the feel good hormone, its the hunting hormone
It makes the chase fun, the hunt fun, and thats the exact reason for doomscrolling
We are hunting the next video that interests us, the next video that entertains us, or the next video that might change our life
Its fear that keeps us scrolling, like what if the next video might just change my life type shit, which is basically fomo
But this is not true, majority of the content is brainrot, and has zerovalue, especially scrolling. Its way better to watch long form content, or just lave the internet. Its hard but i am going to try it out starting today
Peace
Your comment reminds me of when I used to pay homeless people to carry my hunting gear deep in the woods and give them a head start.
I like how the last decade or 2 has made it impossible to ignore that most people lack agency.
❤❤ Aperture
Could've thought you'd heard my sneak peek of a song in the making =O
It reslly depends what you look up on youtube most of the time kn just learning about stuff i find interedting at the time
Tips: Be aware of your emotional state, nitice when it's being manipulated.
I feel called out because I’m scrolling through the other recommended videos rn
All I have now is Reddit, and youtube. Eventually I’ll have to delete them both. I’ll have to go back to a flip phone. Doom scrolling is ruining my life 😢
Don't ever leave! We need the memes on yt and reddit xd.

@@yamankkumarpathak1899 thanks! Deleted Reddit this morning. RUclips however.. I can’t really bring myself to delete that just yet 😭
I love your channel, Why are you skiping connecting with over than 600 million of spanish speakers in Latam? it is easy to have subtitutles in spanish, keep it on mind and help tons of people in my region that really need to know about you and your mindset! Saludos desde México!
8:06 All the 3 Cs are true for me
I am absolutely destroyed by this and I cannot stop.
It sucks, but I hope you can find a way to manage it. Flip phone maybe?
For those saying youtube should have an option to remove shorts - It has an option. Just add all the shorts on your feed to not interested. Once you do it, you wont get the shorts in recommendation for days. Once they comeback you can repeat the steps again and it'll disappear for some days again.
I feel like I'm the only person who still prefers desktop/laptop to smartphone and I don't like scrolling for too long, I'd much rather spent the time drawing or gaming ✨ I do watch a lot of YT videos but mostly just during work hours as background during boring/easy tasks 🤭
I deleted any and all social media back in highschool and never looked back. I still hate my life
I have been watching your videos since at least 4 years and for sure you're one of the 'better' channels out here on YT, while your videos, topics, etc are very interesting most of the time, there's something I'd like you to change actually, I don't know which microphone you use or if its an AI generated voice, but the 's' sounds when you speak becomes really irritating. Checked if my speakers were faulty but they're not apparently. Checked on 3 other devices, it persists on all of them. Please do something about it.
We desreve video on how things work at aperture!
A little Sensational to say it "ruined Society forever," but it definitely takes a toll on Mental Health.
I've had my RUclips channel for over a decade so I'm as guilty as anyone, however I don't use Facebook or Instagram and I have never been to tiktok. On purpose.
Getting rid of basic social media has been the best thing ever, I don't waste my time scrolling.
Not only have I not missed anything important, I have avoided the pitfalls of being obsessed with everything that's going on in the news at every moment. It's a trap
are these all A.I. clips? they are nice!
I've always wondered....
Where do you get your stock footage? Do you shoot it all yourself?
Or do you doom scroll thru endless databases of videos?
I really am generally curious.
Infinite scrolling? Pfft please, my scrolling only approaches infinity.
Lol, I also doomscrolling a lot! I'm doing something about it and are developing my own app to help people in the same situation :D, ruclips.net/video/-4_Uy3x8WJc/видео.html
Woot woot!
Took a break from scrolling for this... womp womp
Where are you getting all this mini videos from
Probably some stock video websites
I'm glad you made this video, it reminds me of my transformation from a nobody to good home, honest wife, $75k biweekly and a good daughter full of love ❤️
I'm inspired.
Please spill some sugar about the biweekly stuff you mentioned
I raised 75k and Christina Ann Tucker is to be thanked. I got my self my dream car 🚗 just last weekend, My journey with her started after my best friend came back from New York and saw me suffering in dept then told me about her and how to change my life through her. Christina A. Tucker is the kind of person one needs in his or her life! I got a home, a good wife, and a beautiful daughter. Note: this is not a promotion but me trying to make a point that no matter what happens, always have faith and keep living!
Wow 😱 I know her too
Miss Christina Ann Tucker is a remarkable individual who has brought immense positivity and inspiration into my life.
I started with a miserly $1500. The results have been mind blowing I must say TBH
I know that woman (Christina Ann Tucker)
If you were born and raised in new York you'd know too, she's my family's Broker for 3yrs till now and a very good one if you asked me. No doubt she is the one that helped you get where you are!!!!
Honestly I thought the rings ad was a bit to mock advertising but okay i guess you really need the money
It's basically one device One mission at this point and when it rains for almost a solid week straight that doesn't help at all I kind of sort of knew what was coming back in the days of Android 4.0 ice cream sandwich but it was nowhere near as self-evident back then.
Actively scrolling the comment section
I’m unsure if this take means anything but if you most certainly keep the cycle of manipulation it’s never gonna end almost all generational things have an issue starting to think it’s best to dictate manipulation and call yourself to lots of people.. like philosophy is.. upsetting because of the prolonged issues.. what happens if we let it go and figure out what to do with solitude?
the link for the shop doesnt work!
Deleting most social media is the best thing I ever did
This will seperate humanity into those who are self aware and those who are not
Suffering frkm this now. Goodnight.
Nothing is forever. Saying that, I admittedly don't have any solutions other than personal discipline (which who knows, the kids growing up with social media might develop an innate sense of and thus when to stop scrolling).
I can confirm that when i see my family scrolling all day 😢 and I'm only using my phone 1 hour or less a day
The advertising angle is confusing to me because I don't buy stuff like that.
However I don't think the companies would agree to that
10:53 exactly
I managed to quit infinite scrolling, because i started to hate myself for doing it. And i felt better after quitting because I was able to see it from the outside and saw how bad it was.
It is so true😢somthing is jus not right
When I was in my home country for a few weeks in 2023 I was in a family friend's house with an adult and 2 other girls my age (below 18 at the time) and one of the days the 3 of them were in the living room just sitting on the couches scrolling on their phones, at the time I was laying down in bed watching a livestream but when it ended I went downstairs to ask what they were up to and I saw them on the couches so I decided to sit down beside one of them, 30mins to an hour later and the one that I sat beside asked me how I was so quiet and not on my phone (I was just thinking about random stuff I wanted to do).
If I didn't have to use apps for work, I would absolutely not need a smart phone and would much rather have a old flip phone.
Infinite scrolling is bad but it’s not really the problem tho because a lot of people have been addicted to RUclips before Infinite scrolling. I’ve been watching RUclips videos every night before going to sleep since I got my first iPod in elementary school
Could you create a video about the brain? I’m starting to feel that your recent content hasn’t been offering anything new or intriguing compared to your previous work.
Nailed it
The guy who invented the pop up ad also apologized.
Aperture videos have a lot of ad breaks!
Poor babies. Such a hard life.
Infinite scrolling is just like cancer to mankind!
