    I know I sound like a broken record, but the bird caption fears always spot on and funny. 😍

    Dear Jamie, I would love to see a list of things a person needs to get/have/borrow/buy for their first bird. My husband will be retiring and a move is in the near future. The expense is something I must budget for the pet category. Please make a detailed list if possible. This sure would be nice to know so I may have all bases covered.... and don’t forget vet visits...how many/yr. etc.

    Teach her(coax her) to preen to a higher level. She might be down that her sheen is not high. So getting her to care about feel best she can and could help improve her moods. And of coarse that will improve self diet.

    My sulpher crested finally opened up in the shower last time and spreading his wings and bobbing his head! Just takes time when a bird has been around for awhile. Mine is appx 14 years old and spent most of his life at the rescue in my area and was returned several times. Trust is key!

    My budgie is eating veggies now grudgingly and prefers pellets. He looks lovely. I think I'll try getting him to bathe next, but hes so skittish about everything it might take a while 😂 I will try having him eat next to a cage hung bird bath. He hates being sprayed. Even with your mister.

      Congratulations 🎉 I have budgies too but they're pretty stubborn. They are rescues and have had bad experiences in the past.(force feed) You give me hope 🙏😊

      @rookbirdblues 5 месяцев назад +1

      Some advice for budgies is to give them very wet leaves, they'll rub and bathe on it bcs thats how they'd do it in the wild! They'd bathe on fallen rain or dew on plants.

      @rookbirdblues you should have seen them today. I was misting my Quakers and they were dodging through the mist. It was hilarious and a fun game for them today.

    Blue Throated McCaw. None left in the wild, but they breed well in captivity. They are really good at unlocking everything!!!! Mine took her cage apart!!!!

      @@BirdTricks I stand corrected!!! Did some reading & am so happy to hear they still survive in the wild. Saw a documentary in the 2003 or so that claimed they filmed the last pair. Never been so pleased with my inaccuracy. Sweet birds!!!!!

    How often should we bathe our parrot? She does bathe herself in her water dish depending on the weather.

    • @BirdTricks
      @BirdTricks  5 месяцев назад +2

      Sounds like the water dish gives her the opportunity to do it every day which is great! 😊

    I love your vlogs so much! You have so many parrots how long does it take to look after them all? Also do you recommend flight training for canaries outside?! Best RUclipsr XOXO

      Depends on my routine that day. I can rush through it fast or take my time and deep clean along the way and take much longer! 😅

    As prey animals, dead silence could be uncomfortable when bathing. I've heard that talking softly to your bird helps give confidence along with mutual bathing.

      Have you also heard how many birds want to bathe when they hear a vacuum?! ❤😊
