How To Blend Chalk Paint

- This week we will age our furniture by using a blending technique with Chalk Paint! Blending can be used to create so many looks. This video will show you how to age your furniture by blending. We will use Dixie Belle colors Tree Frog Green, Caviar and Chocolate to create this look. Some gold for the final touches on the hardware make this hutch perfect for the summer!

I’m already subscribed to both. I love your style and your podcast. I’ve already tried my hand at painting several small pieces of furniture and I’m loving how much joy and satisfaction I’ve experienced. Surprisingly, my husband and grown children are so supportive and my husband especially has expressed how impressed he’s been while watching me paint. I quit my job fifteen months ago, (Registered Nurse for 25 years). I love my patients but was burned out having to deal with everything else. I don’t enjoy busy work! Since then I have worked on my paper crafting which is always fun. Then I discovered Kacha and that’s all she wrote. Now I’m constantly looking for furniture to paint. Thanks Kacha.

Kacha, your videos have inspired me. I recently painted my old hutch, added raised stencils on the doors and drawers, aged it with dark wax, and added gold highlights (of course!). Hi Kacha - I found you when you started and did silent movies and have enjoyed watching you in any format, but I love to see your personality and think you are an amazing artist, and so patient with your work. Love love everything you do. You should have your husband get in front of the camera here and there, I know he is your videographer and editor and he does a great job no matter what the format! I love that you show some of your bloopers too, it gives those of us too scared to get in front of the camera the courage to get out there and mess up till we get it right. I wish people would be more kind and not pick holes in other’s work and efforts, for anyone wanting to learn furniture painting techniques you and your channel are the bomb.

Hi Kacha, I enjoy each furniture transformation you do. The combination of colors and bending techniques are unique .Yes, I agree gilding wax is like “bam” making it complete. This is awesome, i just picked up a gallon of this color yesterday, in latex flat. Im going to add my own marble dust and try it out. I was thinking it would be so beautiful for furniture. Ive also been trying to recreate the hot pink dixie belle, my signature color! I LOVE IT. SO BEAUTIFUL. Ive been interested in Dixie Belle because i cannot say (with even a little confidence like with my chalk) that i can recreate it with my own minerals or clay! I think thats the base!? Your chalk blending videos are the most comprehensive. Look so fun and satisfying.

I love it its beautiful great job. I buy furniture (cheap) , I paint it and sell it, I have a little extra money and I keep my mind busy. I need it since last October my 13-year-old son was diagnosed with epilepsy :( , it is difficult to understand but we greaful for my family so i think doing this (painting) is a good escape for me thank God thank you for the inspiration i really love this channel greeting from San Diego California

Following both! Watching your videos has made me step outside my comfort zone and has made me want to try bold colors. I tend to stay in the cooler and blue tones but now I want to try warmer bolder brighter colors on some of the pieces I have rescued.
Also, seeing the color on a piece is so much different than seeing it in the container. But you have a way with a brush and I have learned so much from watch your videos. I can't wait to dive deeper into this hobby.

Kacha, thank you for this tutorial and your amazing work. I repainted my son's dresser drawer with this exact color scheme as his favorite color is green. It turned out better than I ever imagined. I did have to put multiple coats of green on as the dark wood stain, even after I did my best to strip & sand still bled through. You cannot tell now and it looks incredible. Thank you for this inspiring piece!
