Carlos probably just ask Eric to come on stage to play "Black Magic Woman" but didn't tell Eric about the second song, that's why Eric look a little bit lost on the second song
Man you got to go with the flow Eric is a pro knows all the cords . It isn’t the first time he’s jammed with the Santana Band.
I go back 55 years with these guys. Time waits for no one.

En este video se aprecia que Clapton no se acopla a santana ni a sus musicos Santana es tan solo un guitarrista que toca mas o menos pero Clapton es una super estrella del blues rock Es un consumado rock star No subestimo a Santana pero en comparacion le falta mucho para llegar al nivel de Clapton Aclaro sos estilos diferentes!

Both Carlos and Eric totally disconnected from each other! Carlos has his back to the audience; Eric is trying to figure out what Carlos is doing and playing. Had the pleasure to watch both of thme performing together in the 70's. It was so awesome!!!
I agree. Carlos didn’t start well and it doesn’t look good that in the entire song he had his back to the audience.
I saw them on video at Crossroads. Best duo performance I have ever seen. This act like they dont like like this at all. I also saw both in the 70s. Cant get any better.

Years ago..in the 70s, I went to see EC at Cincinnati Gardens ..as a surprise he brought out Santana as a guest player..Amazing night.
Saw these two perform together in 1975 at Nassau Coliseum in New York and they've been good friends since then. Totally complement each other. Different sounds and techniques. Love them both.

It seems to me that Clapton was complaining about not being able to hear accurately what he was playing on his guitar... in fact, he wasn't using any earphone for sound return. That was my impression.

I bet Eric had a little growl at Carlos after this. The band should of discussed and planned what was happening with Eric more. Not just pull him (78 years old by the way) out on the stage at bloody 1am in the morning to jam (after he had already just done his hole own set earlier). The confusion about who was singing and not even telling him about the 2nd song. Yeah you are going to have him looking like Joe Biden if that is the case. Poor Eric
Yeah but he handled himself.... He was legend before Carlos and he actually knew Peter Greene who wrote black magic woman.... He and Eric both played in the blues breakers
Hmmm…Eric seems he didn’t know what was coming next and what his role was. Not his fault, invited to jam. Carlos didn’t really help/lead him. EC was more comfortable in the Roadhouse Blues jam.

clapton always played fine with carlos, but clapton has been sickn the past afew years.. that's why sometimes he doesnt have good attention.
When I heard EC Sings Magic Woman reminds me Peter Green, And that so good. Mellow And Tender. Santana never had that feeling . well different Genre anyway.
So Cindy is Santana's regular drummer now. Clapton certainly has a great voice for Black Magic Woman.
