Thank you for this one. Manu is a different drummer in many ways... Has his own style and plays dynamically with so much air. Such a great, great sounding artist.
Manu - one of the undersung greats of my generation. Sets his kit up like they were set up in the Sears catalog in the 70's :-), but always kills. So tasteful. Thanks for sharing, Garey!
His playing is second to none. He really has his own signature with all the splashes accents and dynamics. I can watch his work on PG Secret World Live a hundred times and still be impressed at each listening discovering new ghost notes or tricks here and there. Simply BRILLIANT
Thanks Garey! My favorite solo from Manu! His drums sound extra amazing on this one! Such a musical solo and to my ears has a unique vibe going on that makes him special.
Manu is half West African, half French. Saw him at MSG in 1992 with Peter Gabriel. He loves Weckl, Bonham, & Gadd. But he has that incredible West African feel. That loping pocket.
First saw Manu with Peter Gabriel at (Live Aid?). Such a different personality from all the other big players from 80s....really did his own thing. Brilliant player. And I never knew he was french?😉

Katche and Hakim are incredibly musical. Endless variety of dynamics, rhythmic patterns, and orchestration. They are two of my favourites.

Check out Manu Katche's great solo albums!
Manu became good friends with Jeff Porcaro at some point. I believe Jeff’s influence can be heard in MK’s drumming
Manu's work Is so tasty! I love His stuff with Peter Gabriel and Tori Amos.
