Manu is one beautiful cat. So humble and honest, yet such a great drummer and musician. Thanks for the this interview and I also love the black & white :)
Love Manu's work...and he's one of my top 5 groove drummers of all time. Jeff Porcaro, being my #1. I guess this figures being that Jeff and Manu were good friends. Thank you for this interview...excellent.
Great camera work in monochrome. Excellent quality and a very interesting interview with Manu. Just started listening to his work and wow what a drummer and a gentleman as you said. Thank you!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Despite the challenges - tight schedules, complex setups, and often working solo - I always strive to deliver the best quality possible under the circumstances. This particular shoot was especially difficult, with limited time, uneven ground and intense heat in the middle of narrow rows of seats. The audience usually compares the final product to studio conditions, unaware of the hurdles faced. I'm truly glad you enjoyed the result; your appreciation means a great deal to me, as you can probably tell from my response.
@@drumtalkofficialThank you for your informative reply. Explaining the difficulties and challenges involved in producing this type of quality interview was interesting. Great work we do appreciate it I am sure you know!
Manu Katché, ou comment faire groover ,sur radio nostalgie, de chansons de Cabrel . Mission quasi impossible ,mais reussi avec succès! Du grand art .bravo l artiste
Love Manu's performance on Satriani's self titled album. I recall purchasing the VHS tape on the making of that album. I had to laugh when Manu said to Joe, "You throw me the ball, and sometimes I can't throw it back" lol! That always stuck with me all these years later. Interesting, I was not crazy about that album at first, but it has remained one of my very favourite. Extra special indeed and I adore Manu's loose and tasteful style on it so much. Of course I'm familiar with the other artists and albums as well. I also think a lot of why he gets the gig is his very relaxed demeanor. He seems like such a gentle soul and someone you'd love to sit down and talk to, or jam with, of course! That's a real skill, when you have the ability to set everyone around you at ease. I really enjoyed this one, and thanks for shedding the light on Manu. I will go back and revisit his work now. Cheers!
Nice one that album for me too, I saw the tour for it but of course no Manu. Check out Tracey Chapman's Matters of the heart album for lots of great Manu grooves..really great album too..
Of course, hearing Manu share his thoughts is fantastic… but, please, PLEASE… NEVER put layers of distracting sound effects like that underneath an interview. VERY ANNOYING. I really do appreciate all the work involved to make this video and I’m very grateful that you shared it with all of us. It might have not seemed too annoying on one set of speakers… but through cell phone speakers it’s almost makes it not worth watching. Thank You 🙏
One of my favorite drummers of all time...what a great interview. Vielen, vielen Dank.
that's so nice to hear! thanks for the comment!
Manu is completely unique and knows very well how to make music with the drums...one of the very few❤

Definitely my favorite drummer since I first heard 'Somewhere down the crazy river' (Robbie Robertson).
Saw with Peter Gabriel a few weeks ago. His backbeat went straight through my soul.

Good interview. Pity it's so short.
Been following his career since the mid 80s with Peter Gabriel
